not having Jax or Juice in this list is crazy. In my opinion Jax's death is sadder than everyone elses in every aspect. The man lost his wife to his mother, lost his dad to his mother and step dad, lost his bestfriend, basically lost the love for his club, got betrayed by everyone in his family and then had such little happiness in his life that decided and understood than his kids were better off without him which took him to end his life with no hesitation. And he killed himself so that no one in the club would have to keep living with the weight of his death on their mind... In my opinion Jax has one of the saddest stories i ever saw on a tv show. Such a well written character, it's not everyday that we see the "good" guy lose. Really was Such a beautiful yet sad story and character.

I stopped watching the show for like 3 years when opie died I was pissed.. he was my favorite out of everybody… and I think I’ve watched the full show 2 times since the final season and I stopped for a week or two every time that episode came on
After Tara and opie Charlie did the best acting of his career the rest of the show, he brought the rage anquish and wanting to just revenge to the max, this show will never be equalled, the acting the emotion, untouchable, I cried many times watching it, last show I wept.
Piney, Bobby, and Opie and Tara was Jax's support for when the club became too much at times. When they were gone, he was spiraling down in a free fall. the way Abel says " I love you Daddy" at the very end, destroyed me...that was heavy.
Losing his best friend like that hurt so much though. It changed Jax and his rage led him down the path that eventually cost him his wife so I can understand why they put Opie as #1 because that was a mirror image to Jax losing everything. Opie losing Donna put him on a path of destruction, while losing his dad left him broken. Jax losing ope put him on the destructive path, and losing Tara left him broken because he knew the path of destruction he had been on caused it, so imo that made Opie dying not only sad af but also the catalyst for everything else that happened.
Still hard to overlook that one of them took a lead pipe across the face from Opie and got right back up like it was nothing. I call bullshit on that. I think either the guards would have to let more dudes in or Opie takes out those three and the guards kill him themselves.

I watched this series three times, hoping that I would finally put the exceptional writing and acting and Shakespearian plot lines above the killing. But I could not. The killing was too casual, too normalized to the point of life was meaningless; there was always a “justification” for the killing. And for that, I can never endorse this series. We fail when killing becomes lIke taking out the garbage. And with that, I think Curt Sutter went too far. Sorry, fellow SOA fans.
This is where a switch flipped in Jax’s head. Opie was his oldest & closest friend. It was like part of him died w/ Ope. Then Bobby’s death didn’t help either. Then the worst death for Jax was Tara. She kept him level headed somewhat, after Tara was murdered-he started to truly unravel; he lost purpose at that point. He had loved that woman since he was only 16 y.o. All SOA fans: hear me out…. I HATED that this show ended after Jax’s death. I PRAY they do a SOA sequel…where Abel turns 18 & joins the SOA against Wendy & Nero‘s wishes(Nero & Wendy end up getting married after Jax dies). Because Abel finds his Mom’s old journal & learns that his Dad & Grandpa John Teller both wanted the club to stop dealing w/ guns & drugs; and steer the club into a better existence-a legit motorcycle shop not breaking laws & killing people. So Abel joins SOA in his father’s memory, instead of hating his father & all the bad things he did. Maybe Jax’s other son, Thomas, would be the other way, & hate Jax for all the mayhem he caused in his life that eventually took his Mother away from him at such a young age. Bring back all the old characters & make Chibbs, Happy, & Tig as the OG’s…would that not be dope AF?! Just sayin. 🤷🏼♀️ Thoughts????

I don't think Gemma dying was really all that sad as her character arc throughout the shows run proved she needed to die. Jax was the only one that should've done it, so that was more fitting than sad. It did make him realize that his love of family and club meant he had to die though or all of his mistakes would keep hurting the people he loved

She was also extremely jealous that Tara had more influence on Jax than she did and had threatened to kill her more than once before that. While unser shares the blame for telling her about it, he was under the impression that Gemma was still capable of restraint and was just misguided by his love for her(which she manipulated him many times just to get his help) and wrongfully believed she wasn't capable of going that far
Gemma also couldn't let go of them grand babies. She was not about to be separated from them under no circumstance. She just could not let it go. Gemma caused an apocalypse of carnage which resulted in her own son's ultimate demise.💔

He was lost and perhaps his split second decision may of had him thinking he could regain some respect from Jax and the club. But that decision and the story him and Gemma came up with, ultimately led to the fall of the Teller empire. IMO
