I have an old Dynamic Diesel Stage 2. Int. 180 Ex 197, both at .385 lift. I had my pistons butterfly cut .050. Piston to valve clearance on exhaust was .065 and was massive on the intake side, in fact I would not have had the pistons cut on the intake side at all. With KC 1.5 and 175/30, it revs till the tune shuts it down at 4600 rpm.
I have talked to them in the past before I went with kdd on the first build. They were very nice and knowledgeable. I know many people liked their builds
I did have better fuel economy when trying. So first the 2 different cams perfoem very similarly to one another. I did a video when I had 175/stock injectors and bigger turbo, lifted on bigger tires. I was able to get like 17mpg around town. Notnally ibwas getting under 15 ish doing a similar drive. Now if I was having fun you could see the mpg drop fast but overall with the setup I did see better fuel economy but overall setup and driving style played a larger roll in the end result
@six0bros Motor still being built. Little by little is getting there. Hopefully with your injectors you want to sell it will really go. My setup is basically your old setup. Except turbo and cam is different
Thanks for the video's bro. Quick question. Did you get KDD's stage 2 cam or one of the Comp stage 2 cams they sell? Have you towed with it and if so, how did it do? I'm thinking about getting the Comp LST NSR stage 2. I run a Power Max turbo along with several other common 6.0 upgrades.
So I have run 2 different aftermarket cams. I ran the colt stage 2 cam and now the kdd stage 2. Overall one of my favorite upgrades. I actually am looking to sell my colt stage 2 from my first build. I will say you should have valve clearance in your pistons and make sure your valve recession is good as well. I am not as familiar with comp last nsr offering but I am sure it is a good cam. I can say I loved my colt and I towed 13k woth it for a few thousand total mules and it did great. Overall I feel the kdd 2 is very similar. What all is your build looking like I would love to hear your mods man
It would not throw a code, and they run nicely with a cam in factory tuning. I do not know how it would impact emissions for your state because they are very strict. Would honestly be a cool test to do this, but definitely no codes from it
It should be. What the actually means is your valve recession has to be within a certain spec and same with piston protrusion. They have it listed on their website what they are.
@@six0bros thx brotha. My truck only has 66k miles and I have Al The parts to do the bulletproof work. Got the external air to oil oil cooler, studs, push rods, new lifters and since I would be there already might as well have my mechanic install the cam.
I definitely think with all that you should do a cam. They will be checking all the tolerances and such so I would highly recommend a cam they make these trucks drive so nice

Great information, thank you Sir 👍😁
Your welcome hope it helps
Great video. Have you experienced better fuel economy with either of your stage 2 cams?

Great video!
Thanks!
I'm running RCD stage 2
Nice my understanding is it was very similar to the colt stage 2 but I do think a lot of them are similar in my opinion. How do you like it

@johnnycortez46 you're gonna love it man! I just got things squared away with injectors getting built. So I'll have my old ones out in December.
@six0bros Thanks so much buddy. My 2006 was built following your channel. I can wait till it's done. Truck source diesel is doing my build for me
They are great guys over there. I like their tuning for daily driving too.
Thanks for the great video! Do you know, is it wise to weld the gear to the cam on a mild build?
I have been curious about this for awhile.
I have heard of several people doing that. What I can say is my colt stage 2 cam was not welded. I believe my kdd one is.

If I run a stage 2 cam with the factory tune, will it still pass smog in ca? Just curious if it throws any emission codes…

EGR? Never heard of it! (Or seen one on my truck) 😂😂
Must have one of those fancy internal egrs that can't be seen 🤔
