Sometimes I wish I was born in the Gen z generation. All of the resources made available today makes life seem so much more possible and easy. (There are literally 20 year olds out there making six figures) I didn’t grow up with socials like RUclips or have access to iPads and other digital devices that made having an art career from a young age so simple. Now I’m settled in a job that I don’t like and can’t leave because it’s my only income and I feel so insecure about coming out on to social media platforms. My dream keeps dwindling away. I guess I have to find myself and a way to balance starting an art career along side my job the same way you balance being a mom to three babies.
Thank you for sharing how you feel ❤️ it’s really not easy and I also wish I’d had access to digital art from a younger age. When I was in school I was told I shouldn’t do animation because I needed to be good with computers, so I went down a different path. I think if the technology had been more available, I’d have realised that I actually could have gone down the art route! I only started taking art seriously when I gained access to an iPad which is mad. Having a full time job and trying to run a business is really hard (much like me juggling children!), but if you have the drive and conviction then I know you can make it happen! The fact that you don’t enjoy your job - use that as your motivation to build up an additional income. You never know, one day you could leave it and run a creative business full time if that’s your goal! 💪💪💪
I know right… it’s so much easier nowadays to have an art business with all the tech and online shopping websites or social media. It’s still a lot of work though… I’m trying to build a business of my own while having a full time job and my family to take care of… not easy and I’m nowhere near making a lot of sales with it, but it brings me so much joy and gives me another dream to live for. Just try, just for the sake of enjoying your passion at least and setting small goals…
I admire your strength and determination.
