- Just installed the hookah headers exhaust on my Harley Davidson Sportster 48. Ordered them in raw finish to save a little coin. I will paint them with black high heat paint and finish them with wrap.

I have a H-D XL1200N Nightster that I have installed V&H Straight Shot Mufflers on it and they are OK and have the classic staggered pipe look from Harley still! I was going to go with the V&H Short Shots also until I seen this video... you've got me sold on getting a set of these Hookah Headers now! If I get a set though I think I'll spend the extra dough and send them out to be Jet Hot Coated!
Some classic white paint on them and then header wrapped would add a classic hot rod look to them! =D

great pipes, I have the LAF's, which is similar but not 2 into 1, they very loud and I fitted torque cones with it for some back pressure. Nice ride.

Torque cones? Whats the effect other than back pressure? Sound better? Im looking at this for my 48 but worried about how they perform with being so short

Thx.. I love em. Buy em off the web and do it yourself, if I can do it you can. You can get them painted and wrapped for you. Dealer can re-map to adjust the air fuel ratio for best performance.

I’m looking at the Side Shot Hookah headers for a 1999 carbureted springer. It’s a daily rider, so I’d have the welded in baffles to control the volume a bit and add some back pressure. Maybe even add the collector covers to help with the deceleration pop. I want them to look good, but I also want the bike to run good.
The exhaust on your sporty looks great. It’s hard to tell the tone and volume on RUclips.... but if you like it and your neighbors don’t shoot you, then it’s a win!
They get hot, that's for sure.. wrapping the pipes helps with the heat and reduces the burned leg syndrome.. thx for watching
I just got the patriot defender and i love them. But i will keep these in mind if i decide to change them again. Something completely different from other styles.

here is my comparison vid: ruclips.net/video/ZN_lUgMieSI/видео.html short shots hit a bit harder, but hookahs are a bit dirtier and rougher around the edges, which I kind of preferred since they look slightly less bolt on and more custom.
Hey bud. I watched your other video going from the stock pipes to the short shots. Did you notice any power loss going from stock to the short shots, then again from the short shots to these? Nice pipes by the way!
I noticed a bit of loss, which makes sense... but it was significant and I mostly just cruise.... sound is for avoiding blindspots on vehicles

Cool I am looking in to putting pipes on my 2013 Sporty that are very similar.
Nice. Seems like with the exhaust coming together they'd be more balanced than the short shots (crossover chamber effect) and add a little HP. Any noticeable power increase from the saddle?
I had these on my first sportster and it gained 10 hp
i believe I had it off to remove the bracket from my Vance and Hines Short Shots.. cant remember exactly though.. once I got the hookahs on there is not enough clearance for the cover to slip in

Oh okay, I just got a '13 48 and need new pipes but im concerned on how hot my leg is going to get if I get those and the wrap in my opinion doesn't give it a clean look like I would like so how does it do on long rides or if you get stuck in traffic?

I lost some roll on power. The VH pipes were pretty strong.
I think the Jockey shift is more practical than the suicide shift with the foot clutch!

How did you tighten the bottom bolt on the left side? My O2 sensors are in the way
if I remember it was a Son of a... to get those bolts tightened, might of had to do 1/8th of a turn at a time. maybe used some extensions or socket on screw driver attachment. Def used some blue loc-tite. Good luck!

They get pretty dang hot in traffic... I don't do longer rides so i can't comment on that aspect.. good luck with your '13, you can't lose with VH short shots but everyone's got em. Check my other vids of VH

Was thinking about switching my short shot to the ones you have but I have v&h fuelpak and I'm wondering about remapping or taking it off completely and I have a rsd turbine intake any thoughts

i see that you didn’t re-install the front sprocket cover, im trying to reinstall mine but am finding that i’ll have to take the exhaust back off to get the third bolt behind it on. Were you able to find any solution or so you plan on just leaving it open sprocket? or leaving that third bolt out?
edit: i plan on leaving the front sprocket cover on but just leaving that 3rd bolt out, it seems sturdy enough.
hey lanceoa i have a quick question, i ordered the same pipes, somehow goofed and bought the ones without o2 bungs, took them to the shop and had the mechanics weld on o2 bungs for the censors, bike runs now but she idles super high, not to mention im shooting flames when i roll off the throttle at night, its like my censors are messed up? did you order a new chip for your bike? the harley dealers told me that i would have to get some bs expensive chip for the pipes and the censors to all speak together, honestly i feel they were just trying to get some money out of me but i was just curious if you had the same problem
i did have high idle, but no flames.. I believe the they want to do a re-map - which is what I had done when i bought my VH Short shots. That was $100 for a remap. I know it sucks but the dealer is probably right in trying to get the optimum fuel burn. i no longer have this bike.

I bought this exhaust because of your video i bought the torque converters to put in the exhaust did you? and have you ran yours on the dyno yet? im trying to get an idea if the torque converters will work or not cant find anything on the internet thanks
Torque converters are in automatic transmissions. Baffles on the other hand go in exhaust pipes to provide adequate back pressure wich helps keep your torque.

How comfortable is the loudness? Can you handle long rides? I've heard that pipes like these give riders headaches and what not.

It's a pain in the ass the heat wrap gets in the way and makes it that much harder. I'm tempted to take my bike to harley and have them tighten it
yeah, just hate paying them.. $90 an hour technician rate, ouch! is there another tool you can use?
Ill just try tightening it myself. Maybe I'll take it off and trim some heat wrap off and clean it up a bit by that one nut.
don't forget anti-seize on the O2 sensors.. once it heats up those things weld themselves in pretty good

without a doubt. you should tune a Harley out of the box even with stock pipes. They run lean from the factory
a bike is always tuning itself that's why a computer is on the bike. You can get away with not tuning a bike even after changing only pipes because you're not internally changing the engine components

Vance to me was louder but very common and mainstream. Twisted was dirtier and more raw and loss of power was noticeable, but nobody else had em!

Cause there is no efi computer to move air and fuel fast enough for that header. I know this cause my rockers are leaking from my twisted choppers pipes that I've only had for a year and I have a dyno chart from the dealership saying the mix was right.
Straight pipes on a fuel injected bike are not good

Michael Olan suicide is under your left thigh with a foot clutch, and jockey is kind of in front and has the clutch lever on the shifter
if it were me id convert back to carbureted w/ ign. module. dont deal with that o2 sensor crap.
