Great Tip! I run 3-RAM Mounts in my boat and this is a common problem of this mounts. Now I can remedy the problem by replacing the turn key with nut and washer with my torque gun. Thank you so much!
Thanks! Just a tip you want to triple up on the washers or go find a really thick one. The pressure will cause the thin ones to bend. Otherwise glad it helped!
makes sense for what you have, but why not just move your larger unit to the inside where it mounts straight up and the smaller unit on the outside which would be less likely to move because its lighter as you commented.
Ram mounts are very good stable in the water ,but you should buy the the 3” ram ball these are heavy duty, I have ‘‘em never moves , while I’m towing ,or in water

Take the ram mount apart and scuff up the ball with a scotch bright pad.

What about the Ram swing arm mounts? Wouldn’t they be more stable?
I trailer the boat with a cover, so swinging side to side would not be helpful. I need to be able to fold them down on weird angles.
I assume you are not using your windshield?
