Osama is BABAR SHER !! I lost 15 years of my life to this, I was a runner and a footballer, from a upper middle class family, went to the best schools of Lahore, and at last month of my active addiction I was found Od'ing on Canal Road two years ago. Osama's story made me relive the horrors of that life. this was more than just a podcast for me. I'm very grateful for a second chance life gave me. I'm clean for a year, working out 5 days a week, loving this life! thankyou for this podcast shazad bhai!
Shahzad... I will be 80 years old in 9 months. There have not been too many people i have admired; most have let me down eventually. I admire you tremendously. I understand that as a young man struggling in a world where the weight of one's purse sets a persons worth, you must face a lot of frustration. But, my child, remember that money can be made overnight but Respect takes a lifetime. I share your podcasts with friends and family; i want to see you successful in every sense of the word; but please dont lose your passion for the Good Fight. I am rooting for you!! ❤
This is gold. A recovering or conscious person publicly discussing the issue, is deserving a salute and respect. Nobody except an effected person can understand what he/she goes through. Respect from 🇮🇳
Shehzad this podcast alone is better than 99.999% content on internet, you are doing a great job at transforming the thought process of thousands of people. I request you to stay strong! Well done both you!
I am a practicising Psychiatrist who regularly deals with addiction related problems. I loved this podcast. I have learnt a thing or two from this as well. Kudos to Osama for the courage to share his story. Well done Shehzad for bringing this up.
I ve been following your podcast for some 2 months and let me say that, it is one of the very sensible content out there amidst the cacophony of jingoism and non-science. Keep it going. More power to you and your team for such sensible, thoughtful and thorough analysis of various ideas.
Extremely proud of you Shehzad for doing this and kudos to Osama for being so raw and candid about it. It’s definitely very brave of you but I’m 100% sure this content is revolutionary. The amount of empathy I feel after watching this is indescribable. More power to you, I hope you can mentor the youth and suffering population with your deep understanding of the subject just like the professor in the US helped you and all the other people did. Thanks Shehzad for raising awareness about such important topics! Very proud of you!
Osama's courage in sharing his journey from addiction to recovery was truly inspiring. Opening up about such a personal and challenging experience takes an immense amount of courage, and I applaud him for his bravery. I also want to commend Shahzad for producing quality content that addresses important and often difficult topics. It's essential to have platforms like "The Pakistan Experience" that allow individuals to share their stories and create awareness around such issues. Thank you both for your contributions to meaningful and impactful conversations.
2 hours well spent! Thankyou Osama for sharing your narrative, being so transparent and vocal about something a great portion of our marginalized society is suffering from.
Just started listening to you due to a reel. Now I am addicted to this. You are doing it beautifully, deep dive into understanding the root. The empathy, the sincerity. Stay safe and keep moving onwards and upwards. Osama you are doing a service to all those who are fighting a painful battle.
This is very informative . It was heart breaking to see the guests struggles. Could you please invite Osama's parent and ask them to share their experience. This would help young people to understand the pain they cause them self and the people around them. Thank you
I was a drug addict and I've been every situation that he expressed but now thanks to all my supporters I am clean for 7 months I've been Using Brown Sugar for at least 6 years.❤
Shahzad Bhai, I am a teenager studying in High school.. and I must say this podcast should be watched by every person my age... So informative.. Hats off.
Osama you are such a brave person to share your story. Please keep up the good work to lifting people from that pain that you went through. and Thank you Shahzad for bringing him to your podcast.
Met Osama bhai at Lums during the Olympiad 2012. You're a G and legend guy. Glad to know you have turned the tables around. If you are reading this, we were the boys from Peshawar who got along with you ;)
Such a brave person Usama, for sharing such a painful experience with us all. Wish you all the best health, both emotional and physical in the future. And thanks Shehzad beta for bringing such an important issue to the podcast. Many a parent’s nightmare
As a professional clinical psychologist working in a rehabilitation center, this podcast helped me a lot in understanding and learning . Really amazing and intellectual content . I wish to see more content like this 🥲. #Hatsofftoyou Osama♥️ May Allah bless you alot ..
Osama Zaman a True success story ❤ Accepting failure, Accepting himelf and being able to voice it & change himself for better ❤ More power to you brother ❤
I remember when I was 17 I had watched his podcast when it recently came out. His point of view on things made me navigate stuff in my life (which was a mess us waqt) in a better way as well. That podcast became one of my favorites of all time. Immediately recognized the guy when I saw the thumbnail. I am writing this comment before starting to watch this podcast and I just wish that he's at a much better place right now because he inspired me a lot back then when I was 17.
@@ThePakistanExperience loved the podcast. Also, Shehzad this is porbably my first comment on your channel after all these years. Been following you since you had like less than 10k subscribers. Movies se zada lamby bakchodi sessions tak dekhliye aik go mei. Glad to see you getting the recognition you always deserved. Still a long way to go IA.
This episode is right from the top drawer, it touches on so many things we get wrong in treating not just addicts but humans in general!! The whole idea that if you don't follow a narrowly defined idea of what a Pakistani is you will be cast aside which is so disillusioning and polarizing for everyone and no side wants to sit and talk under the guise of mutual understanding. Top drawer stuff And it is so inspirational to see Osama doing well and talking about hard truths in such a matter of fact way!!
Many thanks for raising this issue on this platform. I treat this condition and had seen so many situations over years as a doctor. Thanks for teaching me a few more things. Wishing you very healthy and satisfying life.
Shehzad Bhaji.. amazing conversation... One of the best in the recent months.. I can't define it in words how much it has taught me about the topic in discussion.. Osama was so pure and genuine in telling his personal story so honestly.. Great job guys.. Shehzad! It is my dream to do an episode one day with you on your podcast on " relationship of economics, politics and history..
Great podcast alot of interesting things said. I too am a recovering addict. For those who don't know there are NA meetings in lahore as well. There is a thriving community of recovering addicts who organize physical and online meetings. There is help if you are looking for it.
You may not know but this dialogue would help many like me in more ways than one (who has gone thru similar experiences and yet looking for answers/solutions). Thank you very much for this 🙏
I agree with Osama but you can’t compare Diabetes and other chronic diseases which happened to you. Drug addiction is imposed by the person himself. But hats off to Osama that he recovered from it. Lots of learning lessons from it.
What a brave and compassionate individual! I, too, hail from Lahore and reside very close to LUMS. A decade ago, we used to live near Nela Gunbad. I must admit, I am a chain smoker, and I've witnessed and experienced the very issues discussed in this intriguing podcast. These are pervasive issues in Lahore, affecting people across all social classes. Thank you, Usama Bhai, for sharing your real-life story. After listening to the entire podcast, I really appreciate your honesty and willingness to discuss a bitter truth that many people shy away from. I have friends who are still struggling as you once did, but you are one of the lucky ones who found a path to recovery. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the shoutout. What an articulate guest. Thank you for sharing his life story, and for the engaging conversations about liberalism and the state of society - I think this is a common story in South Asia. Following this podcast from India.

Thanku shehzad sir for another amazing podcast i don't think any other podcast channel talk about such topics which really considered to be talked about 👍we have to educate ourselves that addiction is not a choice, it's a disease
This is such a great podcast and glad to see these conversations taking place in Pakistan even if it is on social media. I was a full blown alcoholic for the majority of the ten years I drank while living in Pakistan. I feel like I wasted my entire 20s drinking and struggling to function. There was no help or outlet in the end my doctor helped scare me to death on what I had done to my body and myself and I quit cold turkey its been almost been 10 years of sobriety now. But man the lack of understanding and compassion towards addiction in Pakistan is a massive issue and subsequently there are zero facilities or doctors that specialize in this field. Another issue is that often times mental issues are confused as drug problems and people are incorrectly treated.
First time ever when I got a whiff perhaps that we Pakistanis are not fake and there is hope ! Insightful and thought provoking. Keep up the good work.
Courageous Osama Zaman. He spoke so openly about drug addiction, that is a Taboo. Drug addiction is very very serious problem in our society. I sincerely hope Osama is doing well in life..
My mantra.. I never watch your podcasts, I listen to them, thanks to YT Premium. This is pure gold. Osama - I don’t know the circumstances and the reason behind which brought you to drug addiction but buddy hold it together now that you’re out of it. Don’t let yourself or your family down. There are people out there who need your invaluable experience to bring them out of this mess and misery Shahzad - I know you should have million+ subscribers by now. It hurts when you put so much effort yet hardly any monetary reward but if you do something for long enough you will reach somewhere very very significant. On top of that, what is success to you? Making money? Or a driver of change? Let that decide if you want to do sponsorships of 5-10 lac Side note, I listened to this podcast in one sitting, almost. That’s how good is your content. Cannot thank you enough
This most important line of this whole podcast, “drugs say nahi, ghur waloon say” The importance and understanding the science of substance abuse is finally coming into importance. This is a huge podcast with critical discussion. It shouldn’t be taken lightly. Hats off to the podcast host for discussing critical topic. However, there’s time and place for jokes and although you’re utmost aware most of the time, it is imperative to further practice the sensitivity of the topic.
@@ThePakistanExperience I didn’t think my response would’ve been reviewed by tue podcast host. But since it did, I’d like to add couple more suggestions. I listen to it from U.S. and only because you tackle some important topics that influence all walks of life. So great work on that. I’d suggest including another platform such as Spotify, (again, im not familiar if it’s available in Pakistan). Do more podcasts that are directly related to social issues of Pakistan and beyond. Lastly, if you’d like, I can invest in your audio equipment to further enhance listeners experience. Thank you,
Osama, you're a champ! Thank you for telling your story. I'm in awe. I salute your courage for detailing your entire journey, and sharing your experiences. I'm sure this would be an inspiration for so many people. All the best!❤ Anddd Shehzad, always grateful to you for these wonderful conversations.❤️
Such an amazing podcast! Other than my regard for Shehzad, this is undoubtedly my favourite channel on RUclips purely because of the amazing content/information/perspective that is available here!
Dear Shehzad Bhai, Thank you so much for this podcast . It truly changed our minds and approach towards people struggling with drug addiction. Understanding the struggles they face and what they go through, without knowing this, we were unfairly forming a mindset that considered them as lesser beings. I request you to continue creating more podcasts like this, so that the general public can become aware of taboos that are often too difficult to discuss openly. I truly enjoyed every minute of it. I also want to extend a special shoutout to Osama Bhai for his candid, articulate, and mature discussion on the topic. God bless you both and please keep producing these amazing pieces. You have my prayers and best wishes.❤
Thank you for this, my cousin died becuz of OD and we couldn't able to do anything for him. I was too young that time but after this podcast my prospective to look towards addicts changed
I have a lot of experience with this topic, one thing my cousin she is a Buddhist she says is that the best counsellors for addiction conflict is someone that has gotten out of it. Becareful who you associate with because some of us are not in active use and it should be noted that these people active users and in recovery like to be kept separate
Honestly this episode had quite an emotional impact on me. Hope this opens the minds of people in power to what the true struggle in society is a class division that the 1% Pakistan never addressed
What am amazing and courageous man. Wish him all the best he is going to accomplish in life. Coming off drugs is a huge success compared to any success sober people strive for.
Asal nasha mene rehab k bad hee karna start kya tha. But now I'm Sober. Nasha aap jab tak nahi chor sakty jab tak aap khud na chorna chaho. But nasha chorney k liye methadone kafi help karti hy. Lekin takleef phir bhe bardasht karni parti hy.
Just created a New Playlist and saved this Podcast...And Named it as "Advice"...I wish if in Future I need an advice , to mujhay Yaad aa jaye aor main yeh Episode phir se Dekh paoo...Thanks Bro!
Naloxone is commonly available in pakistan especially as an antidote. It's present in every emergency cart of govt. As well as private hospitals. And its also produced locally
This is a whole new topic I learned about today!! Wow the insight. Loved it. Learned a lot. Your point about being made to feel about just our existence and Osama's point about politics at the end were sooo relatable. I am definitely a person who questions each and every action/thought of mine as am I going against Islam?
Shehzad you are doing great work. I have been following you since you were doing standups. If you feel like you really need endorsements then go for it so long as you stay true to your goal it wouldn't matter much.
Hi. I m mom of 12 year old and listen to u both is amazing. I grow up. In old karachi. While going to home from aga khan kharadar. I felt scared of heroinchis. I read so much abt this as a kid in all kids magazines of that time. I was a book worm too So the sight of that scared me I was like hi koi injection chabo day gha mujhay to kahi mujhay bhi drug ki adat na ho Jay. Now my kids are growing up in UK and it's the main concern for me too. How to save them. Things are getting harder day by day in real world. #pakistanexperience
This topic is very significant for me. I lost a young cousin who was like a sibling, to drugs not long ago. It's kind of therapeutic given my current situation, but honestly I am not sure if I can make it through the whole podcast. Thanks for what you do.

So happy to see Osama back on the podcast 😊 Such an important discussion.
❤
Osama Zaman is one of the bravest and smartest people I know.
❤
First time ever when I got a whiff perhaps that we Pakistanis are not fake and there is hope ! Insightful and thought provoking. Keep up the good work.
Courageous Osama Zaman. He spoke so openly about drug addiction, that is a Taboo. Drug addiction is very very serious problem in our society.
I sincerely hope Osama is doing well in life..
🙌
My mantra.. I never watch your podcasts, I listen to them, thanks to YT Premium.
This is pure gold.
Osama - I don’t know the circumstances and the reason behind which brought you to drug addiction but buddy hold it together now that you’re out of it. Don’t let yourself or your family down. There are people out there who need your invaluable experience to bring them out of this mess and misery
Shahzad - I know you should have million+ subscribers by now. It hurts when you put so much effort yet hardly any monetary reward but if you do something for long enough you will reach somewhere very very significant. On top of that, what is success to you? Making money? Or a driver of change? Let that decide if you want to do sponsorships of 5-10 lac
Side note, I listened to this podcast in one sitting, almost. That’s how good is your content. Cannot thank you enough
🙌
The best channel on RUclips
🙌
Need a part 2 of this podcast.. Discuss the effects of different drugs on mind and body
Omar you are a hero and Shazad as usual you rock and thanks for having podcast like this
🙌
This most important line of this whole podcast, “drugs say nahi, ghur waloon say”
The importance and understanding the science of substance abuse is finally coming into importance. This is a huge podcast with critical discussion. It shouldn’t be taken lightly.
Hats off to the podcast host for discussing critical topic. However, there’s time and place for jokes and although you’re utmost aware most of the time, it is imperative to further practice the sensitivity of the topic.
❤
@@ThePakistanExperience I didn’t think my response would’ve been reviewed by tue podcast host. But since it did, I’d like to add couple more suggestions. I listen to it from U.S. and only because you tackle some important topics that influence all walks of life. So great work on that.
I’d suggest including another platform such as Spotify, (again, im not familiar if it’s available in Pakistan).
Do more podcasts that are directly related to social issues of Pakistan and beyond.
Lastly, if you’d like, I can invest in your audio equipment to further enhance listeners experience.
Thank you,

❤

🙌
Such an amazing podcast! Other than my regard for Shehzad, this is undoubtedly my favourite channel on RUclips purely because of the amazing content/information/perspective that is available here!
❤
This is one of my fav podcasts from the Pakistan Experience.
❤️
Talking about addiction, The pakistan experience is swallowing me into it since last one year...❤❤love u shehzad bhai from India
❤
Dear Shehzad Bhai,
Thank you so much for this podcast .
❤
Zabardast!! Have to share this one on my social media. Thanks Osama!! and Shehzad of course :)
🙌
Thank you for this, my cousin died becuz of OD and we couldn't able to do anything for him. I was too young that time but after this podcast my prospective to look towards addicts changed
So sorry to hear that:(
This podcast is PURE GOLD
🙌
Such a brave man being vocal and open about it
❤️
I have a lot of experience with this topic, one thing my cousin she is a Buddhist she says is that the best counsellors for addiction conflict is someone that has gotten out of it.
Becareful who you associate with because some of us are not in active use and it should be noted that these people active users and in recovery like to be kept separate
And we have a human need for community that needs balanced
Honestly this episode had quite an emotional impact on me. Hope this opens the minds of people in power to what the true struggle in society is a class division that the 1% Pakistan never addressed
❤
I am so glad that Osama sahab, you managed to fight back the addiction. Not many manage to do this.
Yes
Also, mad respect for Osama for sharing his experience and journey!
Yes!
Finally something that is actually useful. Thanks for this.
Just created a New Playlist and saved this Podcast...And Named it as "Advice"...I wish if in Future I need an advice , to mujhay Yaad aa jaye aor main yeh Episode phir se Dekh paoo...Thanks Bro!

❤
Osama’s eye lids are so red and kinda swollen …. I think he is still using, cause eyes don’t lie chichoo😊
Naloxone is commonly available in pakistan especially as an antidote. It's present in every emergency cart of govt. As well as private hospitals. And its also produced locally
you are right aapnay podcast ka hakk ada kr dia, kudos to Osama
🙌
This is a whole new topic I learned about today!! Wow the insight. Loved it. Learned a lot. Your point about being made to feel about just our existence and Osama's point about politics at the end were sooo relatable. I am definitely a person who questions each and every action/thought of mine as am I going against Islam?
❤
Salam, quite an intense podcast.
Osama's park story really got me. Its good to know that he's doing much better now.
Good job Shehzad 👍🏽
🙌
Thank you Shehzad. This a great social service you are doing ❤😊
❤
Superb channel!!
🙌
Shehzad you are doing great work. I have been following you since you were doing standups. If you feel like you really need endorsements then go for it so long as you stay true to your goal it wouldn't matter much.
🙌
#OSAMAZAMAN. This is so heartfelt, and informative . Shine On!
❤
Hi. I m mom of 12 year old and listen to u both is amazing.
I grow up. In old karachi. While going to home from aga khan kharadar. I felt scared of heroinchis. I read so much abt this as a kid in all kids magazines of that time. I was a book worm too
So the sight of that scared me I was like hi koi injection chabo day gha mujhay to kahi mujhay bhi drug ki adat na ho Jay. Now my kids are growing up in UK and it's the main concern for me too. How to save them. Things are getting harder day by day in real world. #pakistanexperience
Awesome podcast really natural , true... and shows how to fight with herion
🙌
This topic is very significant for me. I lost a young cousin who was like a sibling, to drugs not long ago. It's kind of therapeutic given my current situation, but honestly I am not sure if I can make it through the whole podcast. Thanks for what you do.
So sorry to hear that. Hope young people listen to this podcast and learn.
@@ThePakistanExperience I hope so.
