I was at this star unveiling ceremony and let me tell you guys by the end of the ceremony my feet were hurting, I was exhausted, hungry and ready to go back to my hotel room. But it was so worth it because I got there at 10 and I got to be up close as close to the ceremony as you can get.I got really good pictures of Suzette,A.B. and I got decent video of Chris Perez. After the ceremony was over I was debating over whether I should wait for them to clear up after the ceremony but I was tired and hungry. So I got up early the next morning and I told my Uber driver to take me to Capitol Records so that I can get an up close picture of Selena's star before going to the airport. I got the picture and this was a day I'll never forget and that I was proud to be a part of.
Wow. Lucky you. I'm sure SELENA was there in spirit looking at her beautiful much deserved star. 😍

I teared when Chris got cheered. He deserved the recognition! But I was a bit upset that neither the rest of the band...especially Chris was not at the SPECIFIC moment of the unveiling of the star.
I absolutely loved how everyone cheered when they acknowledged Selena's HUSBAND, Chris Perez ❤ I hope Selena's dad heard how much people still love and refer him as her husband.

What a nice honor -- BUT... that being said, the star should of been printed w/ her whole name of "Selena Quintanilla PEREZ" since she was legally married to Chris Perez and she did use that last name after they married and her career continued, just saying. They did not divorce and were only separated due to her being murdered.
But....Chris already gave his last name to his 2nd wife....though he seems to love Selena until now...

Selena didn’t let anyone know that she would be meeting up with Yolanda that morning because Selena thought it would be a quick trip just to pick up finical paper work. She didn’t wanna tell anyone because she knew they would have protested against it. Nobody would have predicted the tragedy that awaited Selena at that motel not even the people who knew Yolanda the most. It came out of no where so to blame Chris for the loss of his wife is pure bull shit. Selena was a grown woman who could handle herself. The only reason she kept communicating with Yolanda was to retrieve back finical paper work Selena needed in order to do her taxes. Chris Perez was at the stars unveiling. He posed for photos with the band and Selena’s family. Why Perez’s last name wasn’t included on the actual star is because Selena’s preferred stage name was always her birth name “Selena Quintanilla”. All the awards she’s won professionally in her life and even after her death it all says “Selena Quintanilla” not “Selena Quintanilla-Pérez” or “Selena Perez” she never legally changed her name to Perez. Though her grave and memorial statue included her married name out of respect to Chris Perez since he was the love of her life.
