That mountain turned into a wave-
Kai like “no worries”
Yeah he just f-ing surfed it🥶
exactly what i was thinking
He’s a professional surfer
Wish they would've shown the whole thing from start to finish from each camera angle, would love to see that
Fear would set in everyone thats in a situation like that but the difference in him is he wont give up most would freak out and loose control
Land that drop or you might die. No pressure 😅
Nah the pressure helps trust
There’s a team waiting to grab him
Thats where the body become a real war machine ! I bet you he "saw" everything before it happened cause of the adrenaline !
It's red Bull. They literally got to the top on a helicopter. They've got a damn medical team on standby with a chopper to get him out to a hospital. He's as safe as you can possibly in this scenario. They also test the snow for avalanches before they go down to make sure it's not gonna be a huge avalanche and bury him.
@@GreghutchI bet lmao. There’s pressure, then there’s adrenaline riding for your life lol
Dude is one of the best surfers in the world and can snowboard like a pro... absolute legend
Surfing is much more difficult. He did well there though, under a difficult circumstance.
@@jameshinton429saying one sport is more difficult is kinda dumb
@@Safewoood I disagree. It’s called my opinion. The physics of it are much more difficult for most people. I think skateboarding is actually harder than both. Again, my take. If you don’t like it, oh well.
@@jameshinton429 my point is an easier sport can be pushed further to its limits so any sport is as hard as you make it
@@Safewoood gotcha. My point was more of a general statement about average people doing those sports. Ie, I think that for an average person, it’s much easier to snowboard than skateboard. But it is subjective, and to what level you want to take it. I just assume most surfers can rip at snowboarding, but the opposite is less likely.
The loud crunch, the microcracks chasing him down the slope, and then the shattering of the snowtop. What a majestic series of events to be able to witness
Hollywood couldn't make a movie as good as that live footage.
Drone cameras have been the best thing for the modern market as well as overall pov filming in general has improved sooo much it’s insane.
Part of the problem or maybe a revolt...
*cut to literally any tom cruise movie*
@@Justhppy2behere ahahahahahahahahahahah tom has never done anything this dangerous in his life
You’ve never seen Point Break then
I triggered a big slab with my snowboard at Hatcher Pass in Alaska about 35 years ago ... separated from my group ... I eventually got off the back of it, and sat there watching refrigerator and car sized chunks pile up at the bottom ... everyone had beacons, shovels, and probes, but nobody would have gotten to me in time because we had become complacent about staying at least in line of sight & paying more attention to each other ... Stay vigilant in the backcountry, have the right rescue equipment, and stay practiced with it
Did you survive?
@@JohnSmith-tx3ysAre you joking?
@@jonathannash8471
😁
Good on you for that complacency comment. Always stay in line of sight, preferably one at a time, each rider/skier then becomes observer at bottom of the run. Steep parties are fun, but you gotta have solid pack to do it.
@jonathannash8471 no he's dead serious. Are you?
This is why he’s one of the best biggest wave surfers ever
Til he dies "doing what loved" which was trying to die.😅😅😅
@@alan4sureyou must be an Alan for sure...
@@mariopsota how perceptive of you👍😉
@@alan4sureif you die a boring death because you werent doing what you loved that's not living. Its surviving
@@connor7296 what if you did what you loved, and died of natural causes? That's what intelligent people do. Consider yourself informed now.
Смелые ребята! Красиво покоряют горы! Чувствуют себя, как рыба в воде!
Вызываете уважение этой смелостью и высоким профессионализмом!😊😊
When risking your life in the ocean isn't enough... There's always the mountains!
He'll never collect pension😅😅
Backcountry seems fun but this is exactly why I only ride at a resort
There are avalanche safety backpacks...
Those don’t save your life especially when going alone (never go powder alone)
@@matsn6777 wise words friend, powder never alone, but avalanche backpacks do save lives , it raises the chances over 50% if there are no rocks or cliffs on front of you
@@NikosPer you're right. i see my reply was not complete.
What I wanted to state is, that you shouldn't forget about the risks when having such a backpack (as I do), because there is still a big risk. But yeah it definetly increases chances in case of an avalanch.
@@matsn6777 do you have battery powered or with gas?
That "oh shit" i felt that!!!
And from the other camera angle across the way from him, you could still hear when he said "oh, shit!" 😬
Crazy 🤘🤪
Beautiful scenery..
RedBull really puts on the best of the best, year-round. Constantly pumping out legends
Their pivot from an energy drink company, to the leading performance team in so many categories needs to be a Netflix doc or something. I mean they have dominated F1, the pinnacle of motorsports, for several years now against teams that have been around for generations.
Божечки, пока смотрю дух захватывает, красиво смотреть, но, рисковать жизнью не стоит, ведь, дороже всего на свете -это Жизнь! За показ такого видео спасибо🙏💕❤!!!
♥️Stunning bravery and composure!Stay safe out there!🙏❄️
Heart stopping moment right there. Glad he's okay.
Mesmerizing. I can’t stop watching. 😮
Caught? He started it😂
@ira-uj4yq Hopefully if they move on they have Jesus 🙏
you can see the snow creating the cracks as he goes down, it's amazing both the snow sliding and his ability to get out of there without rolling ending up as a snowman with a snowboard
Casually starts an avalanche. 😂
Cant believe places like this exist, simply too incredible man🙌🏽
Wow!! Such an Amazing Athlete!! Love you Kai!!
That must be an incredible moment in that beautiful perfect snow
From an old native Floridian - Wow.... my heart... then, yes, there were eyes on Kai then, "I'm good!" My eyes are leaking... Wow...
Why? Idiots do dumb things!
That’s scary man, you can tell how scared he is but he kept his composure 💪 way to go Kai Lenny
😯😯😯❤️❤️❤️👌👌👌
They are creating an avalanche with human effort and calling that a slide....
Big ups for keeping it GOLDEN with just the audio of the Sesh, great footage keep on shredding.
Thank you for sharing the experience☝️💙
The whole area broke up simultaneously. Amazing moment, and skilfully ridden.
This is a great pov of that slab breaking off. Shows you how fast it can happen.
Ощущение присутствия , сердце замирает....! ❤❤❤
Excellent control, and knowing your surroundings finding a way out - what a great job he did.
Life of Kai. What a great life you must have. Surfing skiing, etc. etc. live in the life of Kai.
😊Bravo precisa muita coragem 😅muito treinamento Bella performance 🎉Bravo 🎉🎉
Buddy really said "These aren't mountains. They're waves." 😂😂😂
Thank you red bull for bringing these types of athletes to our attention. These sorts of things are still somewhat considered fringe sports, but you’ve made it much easier to find and follow these people. I still like the mainstream stuff like rugby, but these outdoor adventure sports are my preference.
A beast in the water AND on snow? Fckn legend 🙌🏽
Once again, cameraman never dies
probly a drone
Probably a drone, but if it wasn't he was behind the slide
That scared me bad 😅 thank goodness he made it out safe 🤗🍀☮️
Восхищает мастерство, смелость этого человека.
What a view of the avalanche as well.
I got skiing in about a day and I am pretty excited after watching this!
All the time at Nazare and Jaws made it easier for Kai for this experience!!! Good job Kai and Travis
I feel honoured to share the name of Kai. I hope I can be this accomplished of a skier one day im on my way and have high hopes
When in doubt, tuck it out!
A little heart stopping there
That: "how's it going to go?" moment
Cameraman deserves more praise bro is like 8’6 and snowboarding in the avalanche
Dude... 🙄😂
“Uh oh.”
Kai is like half human half water God from mythology. Thank you for the inspiration!
What! Legend right here! Didn’t even know he could snowboard. Handled that perfectly!
beautiful , pristine
I seen it first slide early, but worse on the latter part of his ride...It pays to know what you are doing... Awesome 😎 stuff Thanks.
That was so scary! But great job! And you’re safe. Careful.
Great save, aka AMAZING SKILL!! With a slope over 45 degrees, high risk for needing to SWIM that wave out. Please folks, treat the mountains with humble respect
.
Woww discesa impressionante 😮
vibes demais ❤❤❤❤❤❤ crazy dad, crazy
I love snowsurfing
Beautiful.
🔵
Dude needs a medal for riding away from the avalanche like that.
Kai: "ima cause a slide"
Famous words by 2 kai's now
Must be nice having Travis Rice in your ear. Kai is a beast at everything he does.
When the cracks appeared my heart *DROPPED*
Like legit panic mode, this is what’s tearing apart my decision on trying to do snowboarding
Stuck that landing for the escape!
Looks so fun
Great mountain sense

@@politelyvulgarvernacular what's up your ass? 🤣🤣🤣
I think it's a drone
Dude this is getting old. Stop looking for likes
Stop 🛑 please! Move on
So thankful he didn't get caught!🙌🏼
Outrunning an avalanche with my ski tips pointing straight down the mountain is one of the highlights of my skiing career. Full speed just to escape it and it was so fun looking back.
흰파도 타기다..너무 멋져서 감탄만 나온다..가슴이 벅차다.
This is truly amazing!
Riding away from an avalanche has got to be one of the Dopest feelings a human can experience.
“That’s got to be the best snowboarder I’ve ever seen…”
Amazing Life ❤
Dude jumped over and out of an avalanche. His skills overcame mother nature. Amazing footage!
Im glad kai is safe. I want to ride a mountain in the backcountry like that someday.
So amazing!!
Beautiful 😮
"Oh sh*t" is the phrase I hear so many times on these type of videos when something really dangerous happens
Watched the full video best I have seen in ages Alaska next up march 🔜
Awesome ride nice control!
Выглядит круто 👍
When the snow breaks up it feels like trying to run away from something in a dream.
To be there, alone on the mountain in that deep powder amidst the majesty and wonder, is worth any risk.❤
When you get scared but you are sitting on your toilet watching,it speaks for itself.
That very first micro snow slide right before the "yeah baby" would have immediately had me calling out the likelihood of this.
What everyone needs to get from this. He didn't react to the slide, dude responded. He rode the energy flow by letting the fear go. 💯
lmao
So casual like while riding an avalanche
New invention for skiers and snowboarders definitely needed for safety , I got exzatcily what you and I need . Patton companies need to give me a call . Life is worth living to the fullest.🤙🏽
That looks amazing!
when the snow is this fresh, never ride spines that laterally… sure, its super fun and makes the descent last a little longer, but shits dangerous as hell. just point and send, brother.
His heart must've been pounding in his ears during and after that! 😮🤯
Dayum 🤘🤪
Looks like he was charging Nazare. Kai RULES !!!
Wow, what a capture!
Thata gotta be one of those oh so frustrating moments where your mind is 100%focused on survival and either panicking or not panicking, so you dont have any fun in the moment. but as soon as you're safe, you're immediately in little kid "Do it again!" mode, but you can artificially recreate the situation.
Been in a couple of those doing backcountry in my younger days… never stop… best thing to do is just that.. don’t carve and bomb the mountain in a straight line down
And perhaps fall down a hidden cliff or misplace a landing and get buried
I get what you mean though
@@lolerishypeyeah no lol depending on the size of it, you either bomb it if it’s big, or go to one of the sides if it’s smaller? That’s just my personal experience
That looks incredible
So fresh
