The pain of regret does weigh a ton. I regret I wasted so many years in a church that is so fake. I regret all the tithing I donated to a multi billion dollar corporation. I regret I didn’t enjoy my life without guilt…..I could go on and on.
Atonement not cheap???? That is eye opening when that elder said that. I think the Atonement was actually free. In the lds church it is at least 10% of your earnings to qualify
We "taught" English on my mission in Japan. The lesson book was distributed by the Mission Home and was just the first few discussions in simple English. That said, it was by far the most fun part of my mission. I made a lot of friends, including my future wife, at "Eikaiwa".
Garments suck. This church has made me hate them so much. We have choices but they push Garments so much they make it seem like only those who wear them and know the tokens will get in heaven and everyone else will go a decent kingdom anyways
This is a completely serious question from a Never-Mo so I don't have any Mormon skin in the game. Let's say garments suck and boy are they a double ugly set of rags and I can see why you hate them, but I wonder if you yourself wonder about the truthfulness of the church and if other parts of it suck for you. I'd hate all of the meetings and scripture readings and rules and the fake pretend smiles I'd have to put on for people and from what I've heard, the total inability to say no to any calling. I'd be a very bad mormon cuz I wouldn't care whether or not I had a temple recommend and I'd NEVER go see the bishop for bishop stuff - maybe go to a ball game with him but probably not cuz he'd see me drinking a beer. But then again, I wouldn't care cuz he'd never see me in church either cuz I'd probably be at Applebee's or Chili's or something. The question is whether you believe it or not and if not, is it a super scary thing to contemplate just abandoning it ? There might be family implications. I myself am finding it totally impossible at the moment to mention to my spouse that I think the entire religions thing is 100% made up. Now granted, I've many MANY hundreds of RUclips hours now of Peter Hitchens and Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris and Matt Dillahunty and even Ricky Gervais and George Carlin on Religion, but the spouse just goes along "believing" or whatever that means simply because it feels better I guess to call yourself a believer so you can click the Like button on those Facebook posts that say Click Like if you love Jesus that get passed around. I know I'm venting a bit but I'm curious where you are at the moment in all of this.
The GA speaks of having a relationship with Christ? I guess he never read Mormon Doctrine a book studied for years in all of the church classes. It’s amazing how the church has no theological base that remains constant. It’s made up as it goes…
It's good to dive deep. Very good episode. What got me was the change for required clothing (white shirt and ties) are no longer compulsory in the church but aren't being spoken about. Check out the change in clothing policy. In regards to the last days, see chief Midegah and zion media. The native Americans say now it's about 7 years away. Wierd they should suddenly come out with it? They are going to build 2 temples in Missouri (starting in about 1 year). But 6 years from now was the most interesting point they made.
So...does anyone else find the artwork picture at 6:20 to be a little creepy? It appears that the woman (wife, mother) who is with her earthly family is holding Jesus' hand while He holds a baby... ?! Whose baby? The woman whose hand He is holding? It just seems to have a very creepy feel--that the woman's affections are being split between her husband and Jesus?! Anybody else get this vibe??
This explains why conference talks all sound the same and year after year repeating the same stale topics... they are all written by a small team of PR writers!

I do get angry sometimes, mostly about how I hurt my kids and denied them basic necessities while giving money to the church.
Keep doing this wonderful work. You and Nemo the Mormon say it as it is. The truth
Your "Last Days" comments are gold!
I like your format. Quick news, great topics

I remember Eikaiwa. Our MP felt it was a big waste of time, and I felt that he was an enormous tool, so that sort of balanced out...
@@gcarson19 Haha. Luckily for me, eikaiwa had a pretty good reputation so most places had it.
Eikaiwa was fun most of the time. Some groups were way fun and it was actually connecting with people, without a side motive.
I published a book on Amazon called the 30 Day Forgiveness Challenge about 4 years ago so this is very interesting to me.
I love your hairstyle! Very pretty.

And that is why I included it. The church says to have an intimate relationship with Jesus and some members end up in some strange places with that.
Woah! Hello beautiful hair! I really like your hair!
repentance is a joyful experience lol
😮
The Latter Days of the Saints of the Church of Jesus Christ....The End is nigh.
...Soon the last of them will hie to Kolob in the twinkling of an eye. [new prophetic lyrics]

They're being dishonest period.
It was a 3 part email, so funny
