This really spoke to me, but I warn all of us - including myself - to never get to a point where you examine yourself and come to a conclusion that you are without sin, for if it gets to that point, you are no longer dealing with a private or hidden sin. You are dealing with Pride. That’s a whole other animal.

But it's good to examine yourself and realize that your past sins now disgust you. That is sanctification. :)

@RPG 808 Leviathan was a sea creature, now extinct. What exactly it was, we don't really know, although people have speculated. It wasn't a demon. What made you think that it was?
By the way, to say, "That's a whole other animal, " is a figure of speech. Nobody's talking about a literal animal.

I merely made a comment about the existence of a sea creature.

Does anyone ever consider that Job was just getting a minor taste of what Yahshua lost as the Son of Yah?
Also...has any single "hormonal" young (or old) man NOT had a problem with sexual temptation, masturbation or pornography at some point (or ongoing) in their life?
      Be honest.
I went through hell with a promiscuous wife who I finally divorced over 40 years ago and was robbed of a spousal sexual componant.
I hate sexual drive as a single man (71)!!! What can one do???? ...even with an Indwelling Spirit?
You're a married man, John. You don't understand, nor will you ever. You need to lose your millions and millions of dollars to get a taste of what living with irreparable loss means.

Neither death nor life neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today or our worries about tomorrow- not even the powers of hell can separate us from GOD’s love. @Mitiku Darota, friend if Jesus has saved you from any sin, He has saved you from them all, not just these or those. Sanctification is a process. Let's recall He is a master at pruning the "branches". The branches bearing good fruit will multiply with even more good fruit and for whatever branches there are which are carrying rotten fruit or are dead/dying, those will be removed where new branches might spring forth & product good fruit. This will be the case if we are ROOTED in Him. It's not about living reckless lives but remembering it's not "us" and our "works" which make us righteous, only the Blood of Christ we know cleanses us from all sin and He imparts His righteousness to us. Therefore as Jesus is before Abba Father, so are we...
Father God is not looking upon us to uphold lists of standards in order that we might please Him and "earn salvation"... Jesus freely PROVIDED salvation to us. God's Word never tells us that we are righteous so long as our words seem so, so long as we strive and stress to be "perfect & holy"... His Word does tell us that we are made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! He said it all in 2 Corinthians 5:21, "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

We need to learn from Jesus and follow his example (1 Peter 2:21-24). That will not lead us to sin but to break free from sin and also not return to it (John 8:31-36, 1 John 3:6).

Have you received the message of God who is calling all people to repent? That is the way to be forgiven for sins we have committed up to that point of turning to God and turning the page from the way we had lived until then. That opens the door to receiving the gift of *a new life* that we will live for God and no longer for sin and the passing things of the world. It all begins with repentance and faith in Jesus, which means obedience to his word.
Without the word of God in your heart, you won't be able to live for God and walk in his ways. So, if you are willing to follow God's ways, you will take guidance from the scriptures. Please consider the following:
      Acts 17:30-31
30 The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked. But now He commands that all people everywhere should repent, 31 because he has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom He has ordained; of which He has given assurance to everyone by raising him from the dead.
      Luke 6:46
Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do the things I say?
      Hebrews 5:9
And having been made perfect, He [Jesus] became the author of eternal salvation to all those who obey Him
      Galatians 5:6
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
      1 John 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.
      2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
      James 1:21-22
21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness [that's repentance], receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith/obedience], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.
      Psalm 119:11
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
      Please see more here:

Jason, I remember listening to a sermon, by John MacArthur referring to forgiveness of sin. He said that the bible in the new testament used the word "Logizomai" , which is an accounting term, to keep record of. When God forgives us he keeps no "Logizomai" - With Him there is no longer a record of our wrong doing. It is removed by the blood sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, our saviour.

Jason, we all do. Don't give up, brother. I struggle with drug abuse. This morning I smashed my pipe. When you get tempted, PRAY and RUN. Will I be tempted to smoke again? You bet. Here's my plan of attack the next time I want to "self medicate" - I'm going to call my dad and tell him I'm tempted, then we're going to pray together. If you struggle with something chronic, make an attack plan. Speak to a trusted Christian friend or a pastor. When the urge comes on, call them, and pray. When you fall down, confess, be forgiven, and get RIGHT back on the path. You do not have to do it alone! God bless.

In so doing, it really makes our sin(s) all the more abhorrent to ourselves, and it allows for us to be involved in intimate aspects of our fellow brothers and sisters lives through mutual prayer and encouragement! How is it possible that we share loads and carry one another's burdens if we know not what they are? May JESUS CHRIST continue to richly bless you! AMEN!

It's always good to confess your sins to someone you trust and someone who is willing to listen and not judge you. I did that with a friend of mine from work who is older than I I'm in my 20s and hes in his 70s and he said yo me that God forgives all and it takes a big man to humiliate himself and to humble himself and to say his peace to someone else. And man I cried to him at work and I asked him how do I know if I am sorry?! If i really feel bad? He said "no one will cry as hard as you are if they are fake."

Salvation is not a ticket to heaven. It's reconciliation with God, and adoption into His family. It's being saved from the consequences of sin, and the presence and POWER of sin in our lives.
A person cannot be accepted into the family of God while they wilfully continue to live like the devil!
Of course, sanctification is a lifelong process, but it begins at conversion. It's the process of being formed into the image of Christ (Romans 8:29). There should be some evidence of God's presence in the new believer, or one would have to seriously question the reality of conversion.

According to Luke 24:47, Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19, Acts 17:30-31, Acts 20:20-21, and Acts 26:20 (at least), what Ken Yu has stated is false. Repentance along with faith (obedience to Jesus) is a requirement for salvation.

    • @kenyu2302
      @kenyu2302 4 года назад

@@yestothetruth According to John 3:16, Acts: 16:31, Romans 10:9, and a bunch of verses in Ephesians telling people to just believe. What you stated is false. Repentance does not mean to turn away from sins or repent of your sins. It means to change your mind from unbelieving to believing. How do you repent on your own unknown sins? You can't be holy and not sin even after believing. So are you condemned then? Can you lose your salvation? Did that criminal next to Jesus "repent all of his sins" before he passed away into paradise with Jesus? No. He believed Jesus is the Savior. His belief was good enough to be in paradise with Jesus that moment. You sound like you mix Catholic beliefs in having to "repent of your daily sins" to be saved. If God's sacrifice on the cross is not good enough for you to believe that & be saved, you put works into play not faith. You don't have total faith in Christ's sacrifice to save your soul. That is why so many Americans get it wrong and keep telling people that believing in His sacrifice (for our sins) is not enough. You also have to do this (repent of sins) to be saved. CHeck your salvation doctrines from the Bible, not from John Macarthur who tells people you can take the Mark of The Beast and be saved. False preacher, wolf-like teacher.

There are a lot of different scriptures about what we must do to be saved, and they should be looked at together, not in isolation. I've heard many people say that all one has to do is believe, but that is not the whole story.
James talks about faith without works being dead, and points out that even demons believe, and tremble (James 2:14-26), yet we know theirs is not saving faith.
Repentance does mean a change of mind, but it is more than just an intellectual exercise. Thinking processes on their own are not enough to save. If we don't turn from sin, then we haven't turned toward God.
When Jesus saves someone, they have been bought with a price - the most precious blood of Christ - they are God's possession, they are not their own (1 Cor 6:19-20).
Truly saved people will be filled with gratitude and love for their Saviour, which produces loving obedience to Him. It's all part of the salvation process. It's the fruits of repentance, showing evidence of the grace of God at work in our lives.
Also, as I have said in previous posts, John the Baptist, Jesus Himself, and the Apostle Peter, all told their hearers that they should repent - Matt 3:1-2; Matt 4:17; Acts 2:38.
There are many other scriptures about what we must do to be saved, but I think perhaps you could find them for yourself, as this post is long enough. 😊

So when we sin we ask God for forgiveness and ask the Holy Spirit to help us. We then spend time reading the word of God and build a conscience so that we develop holy guilt against sin. One of the most important things about salvation is that we are persistent up until our Bodies are glorified when Jesus returns

    • @yestothetruth

God expects sinners to confess their sins to Him and forsake them (that's always implied, not just admitting "I have sinned", suppose to be cleansed of all unrighteousness upon the mere confession of sin and getting back to sinning again - usually):
      Proverbs 28:13
He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses *and forsakes them* will have mercy.
Doing that is answering the gospel's call to repentance.
      James 1:21-22
21 Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness [that's repentance], receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word [that's faith], and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.
If that is missing in howwe approach sin, we are not doing God's will.

Usually, when someone talks about forgiving themselves, they are referring to feeling bad about things they have done. Realizing their choices and actions have caused others great pain, they want to know how to move beyond their regret. Asking this question, however, reveals a fundamentally flawed view of forgiveness. Biblically, forgiveness is a transaction between two parties, so it is not something that can happen with only one person. The idea of forgiving oneself came with the cultural movement of self-esteem and an overall emphasis on self. There is nothing in the Bible that states or even hints that anyone should ever forgive himself. Furthermore, we do not even have the authority to forgive our own sins against God. We can forgive others for what they have done against us but only God has the authority to forgive sins in an ultimate sense (Mark 2:7). Our primary need is not that we need to forgive ourselves, but that we need forgiveness from God. Graciously, we are told that if we confess our sins, Christ is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We may find forgiveness in Christ and from others and the matter will be settled. If we continue to wallow in self-pity and shame over our sins, we are guilty of several sins.
First, we are essentially acting as if our forgiveness from God is incomplete and that we are not truly cleansed as he says we are. Psalm 103:12 says, “As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.” When we act as if we are still needing to forgive ourselves, we are implying that although God has said he has removed our sins, they still remain until we are able to rid them from ourselves. This is an exalted standard of forgiveness which exceeds even God’s standard. This is certainly pride. Likewise, with guilty feelings, we can accept the fact that we are forgiven in Christ, or we can believe the devil’s lie that we are still guilty and should, therefore, feel guilty.
Second, this counsel is often given to someone who still feels guilty about a sin and continues to beat themselves up about past wrongs because they are surprised that they were able to commit such heinous sins. This is a form of self-righteousness and is built on the pre-supposition that the person should have been better. The person is surprised that they are as sinful as they are. The doctrine of total depravity teaches us that we are capable of any evil and that our hearts are desperately wicked. There are no sins that we are not capable of, and therefore we should not be surprised by our ability to sin. Whereas the Bible gives mankind no credit for his own righteousness, our tendency is to view ourselves as more inherently righteous that we are.

I believe Job was right. We must be righteous in our own eyes. Self examination is Good !

Without Yahshua's living spiritual atonement there is no escape for the guilt or "haunting" memory of sin.
