I've been smoking weed off and on for 25 years. I'm 45 years old ,and it's time to stop this crap. 3 days ago I took my last Puff. May God be with us all as we conform to Christ's image through sanctification.

In this case you are commenting on an issue, to a person who is looking towards eternity….do you really want to be responsible to God for seducing someone off the narrow path? I smoked weed for quite a while when I was younger and it distorted my life. Both my brothers never stopped smoking it and one is now after 50+ years is a complete mess and even after claiming a relationship with Christ is the most vindictive and clearly demonically controlled person I have ever met. The other suffers extreme outburst of anger and cannot make a good decision if he had to. So you may want to keep your un-Biblical opinion to yourself.

He's talking directly to me. I thought I was a Christian, saved, church going, prayed daily, a few times, a day, tried to do good deeds. I really thought i was saved, really felt it, I was convinced. What I really was until a few days ago was a liar, a cheater, full of tons of secrets, hiding, lies on top of lies to cover up more lying and actually thinking I was saved. I'm going to loose everything, my wife, everything, I blame myself and of course and no one else, not even my situation which might be slightly justified but it really isn't. There is no excuse for my behavior for the last 20 years none, and it's finally caught up with me. I pray to God that I can for once be born again finally and truly become a Christian and walk with the Lord who has saved me countless times. Sometimes it takes loosing everything to find one self and truly repent, and truly surrender. That's my current state, but my belief in God is as strong as ever. He never, ever left me, I left him. You’re going to hell if you think turning from sins saved you. He took your sins and bore it on the cross all that lying you did he took care of that! Only if you believe that he died and rose again. In that passage he is sending so called Christian’s to hell and those so called Christian’s are pleading with him to let them in heaven. So I’m gonna ask again if Jesus ends up sending you to hell what would you say? Jesus makes us holy by believing that he died and rose again. we don’t be holy by turning from sin because we will never be holy by our own merits because we constantly sin even after we’re saved. Spurgeon also believed we are "saved by grace through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). I highly suggest you learn a bit more about the matter before you make such bold statements as, "This is a lie by the false preachers." Just know this...merely uttering the words, "I believe," saves no one. Be VERY careful of anyone who tells you otherwise.

I met Charles Spurgeon about 40 years ago. Funny, but I didn't know, at the time, that he is considered the "Prince of Preachers". Many proclaim that he was the greatest Gospel preacher since the Apostle Paul. I totally agree. I was a tangled mess when I encountered this GREAT man. Thank God, that through the medium of the internet, he has brought forth his faithful servant to bless our needy generation.
God shows and disciplines us for our sins on earth. When we ask for forgiveness and repent - our sins are forgiven and not mentioned at the judgement- only what we have done for Him remains.
Is Becoming a Christian me changing my lifestyle and stopping sinning, Or me acknowledging my hopeless condition in my sin and saying the only solution is Christ and what he did for me on the Cross?
Becoming a Christian means acknowledging you are a sinner no matter bigger or smaller sins. Sin is sin and we are sinners and there is only one hope that is Christ Jesus. Confessing your sins to Him and believing that He died for you on the cross and raised on the third day accepting him as your personal Saviour will make you a Christian and when you become a Christian you will walk in obedience with God it means there will be change in your lifestyle you will stop sinning willfully. You will be a new creation in Christ.

To repent simply means to turn away from sin.

@@susanmuncan3170 whatever sins you remember you confess to God and whatever you don't tell it to God and ask for forgiveness for the sins you aren't aware of and also ask God to Search your heart and know your thought if their is any wickedness then lead to the way of righteousness. God knows we are not super computers we tend to forget so confess daily and He is faithful to renew us.
