I watched a documentary by Henry Lewis Gates about racism in Latin countries, it's pretty extreme. Historically and at present people are labeled based on their skin color and it is extreme. In their Hall of government, they have potraits of latin people and based on the color of the skin, the people are placed into specific groups. I rember in Brazil when a very beautiful dark brown woman was selected as Carnival queen or something and the country started featuring her in ads to promote Carnival, people complained that her skin was too dark. The officials replaced her before the event with a very light skin person. When Obama was running for president my work associate, a latina, and I talked all the time about everything. She had told her family she was voting for Obama, her mother told her she couldn't. Her only reason was that Obama is black. This attitude Latin Americans have as well as the attitudes from Native Americans, Asians, Indians, and any where else around the world toward dark black people will never change. They all learned from the biggest racist in the world, yt people. They all still want to be accepted by yt people. It is now 2022, racism is not going anywhere.

(CNN)We may be witnessing a critical turning point in Latino politics in the United States. Contrary to their monolithic treatment by many Americans, Latinos have always been very diverse -- economically, culturally and in their ethnic and national origins. But, politically speaking, they were reliably Democratic. That may no longer be true. In an era when conservative politics is acutely nationalist and consumed by a sense of cultural threat, a number of new polls show Latino voters growing more Republican.
Not really since the brown part was a generic lumping of all races within the diverse Latin American community. Within the Latin American community we have lots of Black, indigenous, mixed, white and those who strive to be white.

People make a mistake if they think demographics will change anything. I love to watch TV made in Mexico and one thing is striking, European looking people in Mexico are a tiny minority but they make up 100 % of the actors , why is that ?
The European race is viewed favorably by Latin Americans who are white or want to be viewed as white. Whites are on top of the social hierarchy in Latin America while black and indigenous people are at the bottom. Whiteness is associated with success, wealth, glamour, education etc.. Can we PLEASE STOP saying things like “brown” when referring to “Latinos”? “Latino” is NOT a race. And can we PLEASE STOP calling it a “community”? because it’s not… For starters, “Latino” means you speak a language derived from LATIN. So that would mean that Latin America consists of 19 Spanish-Speaking Countries, Brazil (Portuguese-Speaking), AND Haiti, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Martin, French Guiana, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, and (technically Quebec, plus Acadians) because these are French-Speaking places…. And even within the Spanish-Speaking countries we are very diverse, with completely different cultures, accents, music, etc. So how are we a community?? Not to mention there’s no UNITY, among us so we can’t call ourselves a commUNITY…. Most importantly, “brown” people are South Asians like Indians, Bengalis, Sri Lankans, Pakistanis, etc. Those stereotypical “brown” people the society SWEARS are what “Latinos” are supposed to look like are predominantly Native Americans with European and yes, believe it or not, African ancestry. 60% of (Spanish-Speaking) Latinos AKA Hispanics are of mixed ancestry. 25% of us are white people, yes, white people. 10% of us are Indigenous. And for some reason some people still don’t know this, but about 3% of are black people , like myself. We are extremely marginalized, ignored, discriminated against, overlooked, disrespected, and forgotten about. So there shouldn’t be any surprise that there’s anti-blackness in the “Latino Community”…. There are also very small populations of Middle Eastern, and East Asian people in Latin America…. Our genetic makeup on average consists of about 53% European ancestry, 36% Indigenous ancestry, and 11% African ancestry. Which obviously varies from one person to the next. Bottom line, we are NOT a race…..
Unfortunately Latino was declared a race by the UN back in the 80s. The definition was a person of mixed Castillian, Carib Indian and West African ancestries This was a problem as Latinos hated the African part and it just cemented the self-hate that had always been there.
It’s really annoying to hear anyone say, “their action don’t represent all” or “not all…” The same could be said about white people. All white people aren’t racist either, but the vast majority turn a blind eye or think, because it hasn’t affected them directly there’s nothing they can say or do about it. Not to mention, many benefit from racism systematically. I’ve been on this Earth for 54 yrs and have been around the “Latino” community for many of those yrs. I can wholeheartedly say that although “not all Hispanics” have that bias, or WS racist mindset, the vast majority don’t see it as an issue unless it directly affects them. Also, if it does directly affect them, as in the case with Florida, they more than likely welcomed it thinking that they weren’t going to be the target, and when they become the target they asked for Black people to stand with them. However, once Black people declined to help them fight, suddenly their true feeling about Black people shine through simply for being told NO. Miss me with the “Not all…”

That is a lie. Black people's response to the racism imposed upon them is not racism. To be relatively sane in America Black people live in a constant state of rage. As an afro-latino, I've grown up seeing both sides of the fence. My dad's side of the family is black, and my mom's side is Spanish. During family get togethers, on occasion friends of my extended family would visit. They were usually latino as well. Thinking they were in the presence of only latinos, I would sometimes here racial slurs about black people. My cousins would quickly correct them, b/c we were their black family members, and they had positive experiences with us all their life; however, I heard almost as many racial stereotypes and negative racial comments against the black community by latinos as I have from white communities. The big difference is that I see the white community largely changing and atoning for the sins of their fathers. However, the latino community stays stagnant b/c they have not changed their mindset, they still think they are doing nothing wrong nor do they think they are part of the problem.

I am from NYC and this black vs brown agenda is foreign to me. now to be truthful there are blacks against hispanics and hispanics against blacks in isolated incidents but that is only a small percentage of the daily interactions between two groups who really are the same. the only real difference is one slave master taught his slaves english (britain) and the other slave master taught his slaves spanish (spain). after that the two groups were pitted against each other to instill the divide and conquer tactics that still shows it's affects with this brown vs black narrative that is so dangerous and being pushed so hard right now. she, from the snippet shown in this video, was pointing out a misbehaving child and because the child was black we are supposed to automatically see it as racism from one of our hispanic sisters and not see it as a disciplinary issue? now, do not misjudge my sentiment. i know that we have self hatred in our communities. and regardless of the last 400 years of subjugation and degradation and division i still see our hispanic/latino brothers and sisters as our family and nothing will change that. nothing. the children of hispanic slaves are not the same as the children of the conquistadors. the children of the hispanic slaves are the same as the children of black slaves. and just because some hispanics, children of hispanic slaves and those conquered/colonized, are light skin does not mean that they are now not our people because of their light skin and straighter hair... if that is the case then all blacks who are light skin and/or do not have the kinkiest/whooly hair should be dismissed as being black too. and lastly, many see hispanics with lighter skin and say "see they can not be black like us"... well, spain had over a 100 year head start in reshaping the world and complexion of our hispanic brothers and sisters that they conquered starting in the 1400's before the british had there impact on who we call blacks today. there is more to say but my comment is long already.

That was _NOT_ what she said at all. I know mexicans and latinos can be racist. In fact, I antagonistically looked up this video just to see if anybody else sees the undertones. But the actual point she made was that "Black" and "Brown" people are raised different, and certain behaviors look just as strange on them as they do on white kids. Hiwever, whites have a very _VERY_ socially liberal culture, which withoholds discipline. She didn't want that kid goijg down that same path. Learn to analyze without emotion.
I love the wording " white-anglo whiteness. " Since I'm French , I assume I am not white ? Germans, Dutch ? etc.etc. Why is it so important to be called white anyway ?
White Anglo-Saxon is what the majority of the original white settlers in the US were considered. They came over from the British isles. These days white Americans are not necessarily of Anglo Saxon protestant descent anymore. Over time, American whiteness incorporated Eastern Europeans, Southern Europeans, Greeks, Jews, Italians, Irish and eventually, if not already, white Hispanics.
You are absolutely white. There are only 5 races in the world and the French fall under white, just like Latinos. You're ethnicity is different, but your race is white
I think that these kind of reactions from the Latino communities is due to search to be no confused with the black community. US have many negative connotation about black people, there are not only members from white, Latino, Asian, Indian communities that show anti blacks feelings but black do it too. For example, Michel Jackson had many anti black feelings. How it is possible? Because the system of education in US is not working, at the same time the families don't teach to their kids how to respect all kind of people, and get values from them.
I might be a hypocrite but I love my black brothers and sisters. I have some sort of hatred for americanized Latinos, they treat us like were inferior, I've introduced my black girlfriend at the time (now wife) to my family in sinaloa and they showed nothing but respect but the moment I took her to my neighborhood and americanized family members in the US all I heard were backstabbing whispers every time we left family functions.

I'm a Kenyan of African descent. I'm curious about the origin of calling people of African descent Black. My skin colour according to the colour palette is brown. And Caucasian people's skin colour is definitely not white but a shade of pink or brown...it's a wide spectrum. That said, I was not aware of how demeaning the word black is until I came to Europe. Three years here and the contrast is clear. White in contrast to black and vice versa has such a deeper connotation. If I was referred to by the proper colour of my skin and the Caucasian people by theirs, some of these stupid, superficial power structures would crumble. What's my true skin colour?
Exactly sis why do they keep referring to us as black people when we really are different shades of dark brown to light brown colors and yes white people are not really white they are pale skin shade tone with some pink or redish
I'm white and dated several black girls and ladies over the years. I actually prefer black and brown. I experienced hard core racism from my closest friends. They all thought, and hoped I was racist. And the black people all took for granted I was racist. I believe it's all because the way that I look. A big hairy white dude. People need to wake up and accept people for who they really are. We all share this planet and we all need to be accepting enough to allow our fellow humans to live their lives as they chose, or we will just keep killing each other.

I've heard it my whole life. I used to look at my skin and ask why would God make me dark. Amongst Latinos it is ingrained to breed out the dark skin, which comes from the Spanish colonizers or Europeans. I used to hate Black people because I am of African decent and was put down low for it. It's the self-hate that you have to live with as an adult. The prison and gang culture push that as well. It's shameful to admit but it's a self-hate issue that's based in colonial racist brainwashing. It's very prevalent and needs to be addressed as an issue for us because no one is coming to help.
My daughter was in a kindergarten class of mostly Latino children. She was the only black girl, there was one black boy, and one white boy. They mercilessly teased my daughter daily. She told me, "being Black means I'm dirt." This is what the children drove her to. That is learned and modeled behavior. The racism can be there but its not always present because I have had so many other positive relationships with Latinos in my community.
Really??? I was a volunteer in my daughter’s Kindergarten class, I was there all day and I never observed any racism. Little kids that age aren’t racist. On the contrary, at that age they’re very inclusive and love one another.

The definition was a person of mixed Castillian, Carib Indian and West African ancestries
This was a problem as Latinos hated the African part and it just cemented the self-hate that had always been there.
Not all but many have an arogance about themselves. There is no black and brown just us .So we must learn to work and grow among ourselves.
Right on when will they learn ✊

It’s really annoying to hear anyone say, “their action don’t represent all” or “not all…”
The same could be said about white people.

Thinking they were in the presence of only latinos, I would sometimes here racial slurs about black people. My cousins would quickly correct them, b/c we were their black family members, and they had positive experiences with us all their life; however, I heard almost as many racial stereotypes and negative racial comments against the black community by latinos as I have from white communities. The big difference is that I see the white community largely changing and atoning for the sins of their fathers. However, the latino community stays stagnant b/c they have not changed their mindset, they still think they are doing nothing wrong nor do they think they are part of the problem.

I can't understand what makes those so calls'' Latinos think they are white and Latinos when no one has ever heard of them before Columbus got here! History tells us exactly the combination and the making of these people who called themselves''Latinos! People from Dominican Republic, México, and all the south America are mostly African and Native Indians! Most of the Taino's naturally have yellow skin tone, and when you mixed Yellow with Chocolate you will ended up with an Olive skin tone, and that is how those people became a nation! Being colonized by the Europeans, most of them have lost their original native dialect, they now, learned Spanish from their masters! As a result, they think they are Spanish because they have learned the language! Reality is, most of them don't even have a tiny blood line with the Spainards, but they all think their ancestors came from Spain because they speak Spanish!

No, sir, you are wrong about Brazil; the majority of Brazilians are mixed race! If you knew history, you would know that Brazil was so black; they have purposely imported white Europeans to Brazil to diminish black people! However, you can't erase black, no matter how hard they tried! There is a reason why Latinos are not white is that there was not such a nation called ''Latino'' before 1492! Latin is derived from Hebrew to Greek, then to the rest of the European nation, and none of them called themselves Latinos! You have to understand that Africans are the first ever created on this earth, so if anyone is ''Latino'', it has got to be Africans because they are the roots of all human life! That is why all other nations have African DNA!

Firstly, I am a black man and I am not a democrat or republican. Secondly, there must be more that she said that i did not see in this video because I didn't see any anti-blackness in her statements. What I heard was her saying that a black kid was misbehaving. She pointed out that there was a white man who she assumed had guardianship over that black child and she assessed that the scene looked like the trope of white parents not disciplining their unruly child. Now when you factor that into the mix it seems to me she really was saying that she believes this child needed to be told not to behave in a way that the white man was allowing and that she would add the discipline that this child obviously seem to be missing. Are we now becoming that boy that cried wolf? Outside of politics there has always been a "black and brown" coalition in the ghettos were we have been regulated to.

Would you accept a black man walking down your street holding hands with an exceptionally attractive blonde blue eyed white woman, My Liberated Brother?
@@automatic_systematic haha that’s awesome and I see he ran for the hills🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for pointing out that black people are racist too
@@Actually_Woke_6277 you can also thank the pervasive white anti everyone else racism throughout American History which persists to this very day for that. Let's not be gaslighters here
Really man .
I really like Tiffany Cross. Really smart and good at moderating honest conversation.
You are joking correct ??
She is a sellout..
Become her pin pal. She has a fan club
She got kicked out and now she's unemployed ! 🇺🇸🇮🇹🇲🇽😅😂😭🤣😉😁😃😆😂😭
It's odd how some Latinos like black music, from oldies to hip hop, yet they're so anti-black. Like what the 😮
First, her comments are disgusting. She ought to be God damned ashamed of herself. Secondly, I have never experienced these black/brown issues. I’m for solidarity.
Well that a problem brother and therapy can help but that said it doesn't mean we getta love the negros neither homie.
And also we forget all the talk about the Spanish but we forget the French were in Mexican for a while as well.
@@Rosemary-op3rz They don't tend to do those things when adults are around. Your experience does not invalidate my daughter's.
It’s kinda like we are all different.
@@neutraliserjanine that was kindergarten. After that we actually moved out of the country for a few years. We went to the Caribbean, where her father is from, where everyone looked like her. I think it was a great self-affirming experience. This was many years ago as she is now a teenager, but I did everything I could at the time to foster a sense of pride in who she is.
Too bad you know how it feel now 😂
There has never been a real black Brown coalition.
Honestly how many of us have seen a misbehaving child and said something like give me a week with that child. Also when she said, "he's raising him like a white child", could have meant he is raising him to speak any kind of way to his parent. I'm only addressing the part of the tape you showed. I don't know what else she said.
What about the monkey part 🤔 and blacks are out of control??
Yes l understood it like you.The monkey part is not offensive to us. We are mix people we don't see color period.
@@nealmike5490 In Latin American countries 'changuito' is used as endearment or active children, and "mona" which means female monkey describes a pretty girl.
This is what confuses me, poc will get mad if you only adopt kids of your own race but then will get mad at you for adopting a black/brown child.
What sort of a society deifies criminals when there are so many good people among you who are working to make the world a better place? Model your lives after them.
What do you mean ? 🤔😒🇺🇸🇮🇹🇲🇽
The term latino does not exist in South America, you are from the country you were born in.
They are wyt "appearing." They aren't anglo. STOP making excuses. THAT is what the latino community DOES: it always provides cover for discrimination in its community. Which means: this ISN'T a honest discussion.
Latino is not a race.
Correct.
Henry Louis Gates did a series called Black In Latin America. It should be watched.
I saw that. It was very interesting to say the least. Henry Louis Gates always has some great documentaries. There is too much hate in the world. I think people should start loving more. We are one Race. The Human Race. We just come from different cultures/ethnicities. Just my take on it. God bless in all you do. 🙏
Great documentary!
“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?
Jeremiah 17:9 NLT
Well this certainly explains Enrique Tarrio.

Yup and he loves telling people he is 40% African.
Yeah isn't he the leader of the proud boys and looks straight black as well !🇺🇸🇮🇹🇲🇽 😂😅😆😁😉🤣😭
Weird wasn't the serial killer in Stockton a black man killing Latino men tho
They don’t care or want to hear it
Probably in justification. The cartel kills millions....yall do nothing but run from them. Pathetic af
Wasnt the gang F13 in LA killing innocent black folks for no reason? What about The Avenues gang? What about hawaiian gardens? also known as the “Hate Gang”? theyve been targeting innocent blacks. its about time we reverse the roles.
There are Latino and Caribbean "whites." Their parents are "white" European but they were born in Hispanic/Latino and Caribbean countries.
YOu should adress anti-latino racism in black society
Oh you mean the people who defended you after Trump called your people out, yea there is not anti latino racism in black communities for the most part like y’all have sectors of your population that despise us don’t act like its the same thing it ain’t y’all caused this
As well as anti-Asian hate in African-American community.
@@selflesssamaritan6417What Anti-Asian hate? There’s zero proof to indicate the attacks on them are hate based when they involve robberies.
@@DaleWilson1984zNotice those attacks all of a sudden stopped! Because those attacks were orchestrated.
Sooo, you don’t experience that from whytes?
I don't get this. I have Latino friends who are darker than so-called Black people. So should they hate themselves? Are they hated by the lighter skin Latinos? Make it make sense. The racist mental illness in the Latino/Hispanic community is surfacing. Many so-called Black Americans stood strong for Latinos back in the day when WS wanted all of them back across the border. Have these racist forgotten. We had illegal hispanics in my community when i was growing up and we never turned them in.
Cool. When will you be discussing anti-asianess in the black community?
They will never have accountability
@Ijustwannachill I know...right? It's tiring to hear all these racial groups whining all the time..."no accountability in the Hispanic community, just play victim."

Was rascims started by blacks? Since you people wanna go there with the anti asian hate they are cases where you see a wm attacking asian women they don't report it at all. But when it comes to a black person doing harm to asians its ww3. All because they wanna protect they are loyal to whites
