I saw them two weeks ago in Greenville SC. Absolutely breathtaking in person. I am a music major and my mouth was dropped open the whole show :D. They are unbelieveable. Best part was, I got a personalized autograph from Anna Phoebe! Man that concert rocked.
I'm going on Dec. 17th to see them here in New Orleans.. I'm excited too! I have been wanting to see them in concert for 3 years and finally this year my dream will come true. I love TSO.
If you havent seen TSO live, DO IT! Their music is great, obviously, but the lights and stage presence made it something that you need to experience in person. You will not regret it.
Man you are SO lucky to have gotten Anna's autograph!!! Cheez!! I saw them last night in Raleigh NC and they are soooo awesome!!!! Anna Phoebe is off the charts hot!!!!!
Agreed! I had only heard a little of their music, but my girlfriend is a big fan. Her birthday happened to be on the same night as the concert, so I got us tickets... Now I'm joining her in the "big fan" category :)
This is the most awesome concert! Saw them on my birthday in concert and they did this same effect almost right in front of me, at l:00 Totally amazing. Ticket to this was one of my best birthday presents ever!
I saw TSO live in 2008... my mind was BLOWN. These people are on a whole different plane of talent. And as far those of you who are complaining about the "heavy metal"... all western sheet music is written the same way, with the same scales and notes. It's just a different instrument, calm down.
I saw this back in December in New Jersey. The part where they were in the air on the platform was different though; it was being pulled up from the ceiling without anything underneath, so it really did look like it was flying. And those lights around it were on the ceiling as well.
it's just a heavy metal version of Carol of the bells. The reason they were able to name it something else is because they added few notes of "ye old merry gentlemen" carol at the beginning, but the entire body of the piece is Carol of the bells - an old Ukrainian carol. Look it up on wikipedia if you don't belive me.
I remeber seeing the rising platform at my first viewing. We were on the floor and were in front of it. Had to turn my head to see it. So awesome I'm going tomorrow (or today, seeing as it's 3:24am) This is one of my favorite songs.
Awesome video. The sound and image are totally clear!Just one small thing. The piece is actually Carol of the bells. Tubular Bells was actually a piece written and performed by Mike Oldfield in the 70's and more popularly used as the theme to the Exorcist. :)
a) you're right, my mistake b) i used wikipedia, because it's usually the first thing that comes up - use whatever - still the same result - it's basically a heavy metal version of carol of the bells with not much change in tempo or arrangement.
I was lucky enough to see them live last year in Lubbock. I loved it even though I had to miss a bit of the show when the loud music gave me a headache. I hate that I missed some of the awesome stunts but I am prone to headaches easily if a sound is loud. I could still hear them well enough I just couldn't see them. I made it through most of the show and Mad Russian's Christmas which is my favorite song from Christmas Eve and other stories.
when i was younger we went to see them (tho we r in OH) and during the break they had we met... i think we was the travel director and he told the gift shop to let me pick out a cd and a t-shirt... it was so cool.
i was at their concert in minnesota and i was right next to where they got lifted up in the air but they didnt have just smoke they also had flames going off and you could feel it it was AMMMMMMMMMAAAAAZZZZZINNNNNNNNGGGGG!!!!!!!!
In this song the lead guitarist is Kirk Hammet (at least in the studio version, I'm not sure about the live). This song was recorded by Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Metallica, not just the Orchestra.
i just saw them here in memphis last night. OMG i wish i was rolling!!!! LoL. but no, if you haven't seen them i suggest to any and everybody to go see them. awsome show!!!!
No, it's when people call it Carol of the Bells when it's actually called Christmas Eve. So someone might actually buy the TSO version, but can't because they're looking for for the wrong song. See Dralkri and DMX posts above for the proper info

TSO has got to be the BEST show EVER! I saw them here in St.Paul 2 weeks ago. I can't wait to see them again next year!

Oh you can hear pretty well at concerts...it is LOUD...it's because the audio is taken from the camera mic that you can hear people screaming
I really do need to watch these guys when they come to a city near me. This is perhaps one of the greatest metal-orchestras ever!
If you havent seen TSO live, DO IT! Their music is great, obviously, but the lights and stage presence made it something that you need to experience in person. You will not regret it.
