    I see ICE, I click 👇
    Seriously, I bought my wife to test drive on multiple cars, and the only car she remembered was the Corolla. She was so impressed with the ride comfort, while she had forgotten the rest of the cars 😂

    I couldn't agree more - I was looking for a C-segment which would be fun to drive and to also be a family car. I dabbled with the Honda Civic RS, Mazda 3 and Corolla G-Spec; the moment the GR sport was released - I was sold and booked it even without test driving it, as the Corolla G-Spec was already a very refined car by my standards. The GR Sport has been serving me over the last 6 months! Fantastic car and no regrets choosing it over the Civic or Mazda 3 - the only gripe was with the Dunlop tyres which are louder and harder; a swift change to Michelin PS5's and all is now well. Great review of the car by the way!

    The GR is what the standard Altis should have been. 3 years of driving my Altis, I realized my brothers Yaris had some better features that was missing in my Altis. Toyota successfully managed to sell a C segment car with the feature range of a B segment. And then up the price and add commonly found features on a C segment to the Altis and sell it at a higher price.

    Finally, after 6 months of launch, you guys finally got the car to test drive! Well done, better late than never! Is UMW Toyota bringing in the hybrid version? It's already out in Thailand long time.......

    This would be excellent with a 6 speed manual and the 2AR-FE, Toyota's 2.5L 4 cylinder. 180 naturally aspirated horsepower in a Corolla would be perfect, I think. The CVT is just fine for the 1.8, but the 2.5 makes way too much torque for me to be comfortable with them pairing it to a torque sensitive transmission like a CVT.

    There few levels of GR unfortunately 😅
    if there is a Sport after GR, it’s just a cosmetic changes, nothing sort “sport”,
    if the car’s name is after GR, now that’s a Tuned Car (GR Yaris, GR Corolla)

    • @MalaysianMotoring
      @MalaysianMotoring  6 месяцев назад +4

      The Corolla GR Sport, as seen here, features uprated suspension, retuned brakes & throttle control unit, and additional chassis bracing for improved rigidity.
      So no, it's not "just a cosmetic change[s]" as you suggest.

    • @eugp4198
      @eugp4198 6 месяцев назад +4

      I would take a used Camry, the facelift one with the new 2.5 DFE..
      Needless to say, Camry is using the new DFE (Corolla older engine) and 8 speed torque converter (Corolla CVT).
      In terms of spirited driving, 8AT will be more reliable than CVT..
