The only thing I like less about the Keb fleece is the breast pocket: it is tall enough, but a bit too wide so when I put my phone in it, it tends to “fall over” on it longer side and then it kinda slides in the direction of your armpit. I find that very irritating and in the end I hardly use the pocket. Other than that: it is one of my favorites! I tend to combine it with the Övik wool shirt: the wool is fairly windproof, can take a few drops of rain and most importantly, it is flame retardant so no problem with campfire sparks. The Keb under it provides warmth. A very comfortable combination! Keep on posting!
Thanks Jan! I agree with the phone situation, now that you mention it I remember that it happened a couple of times when I recorded the video! Thanks for watching!
Great review. I have this fleece and love it as a mid layer - the material is thin and stretchy and really insulates without bulking out too much yet gives really good movement. Enjoying your videos - keep it up :)
I stumble on this fleece hoodie on the 14 November 2020. Been thinking about it all day and assessing the material and logistics, ie fit, specs...tomorrow, 16 November 2020, will visit the local Fjallraven outlet in Vancouver BC and make the purchase. Thanks for the in depth video.
How has your keb fleece held up under a load-bearing hip belt? I've had problems in the past with jackets stretching and deforming a bit under the weight of a hip belt on long treks, especially if they have some natural fibers, like wool. It's the only concern holding me back on this great looking jacket.
Indeed, it’s been a long time! No, this is still in great shape! If you go to the “top five outdoor gloves from Hestra video” you’ll see me using it there, it’s recent!
There's another verision, keb fleece hoodie, that's the one I have. Love it, borderline perfection if only for two nit picks, but I really wish it had two chest pockets instead of one, and there's a lack of color options, like an oak red or pine green color.
@@TedWeirum There's zippers for the chest pocket, front, and hand pockets. It's all pretty nice, I can zip up the hand pockets if I don't need them, but the lack of color options really sucks.
Hi ! Great video, I m just about to buy one but it seems very thin for me and I m not sure if it is warm enough to wear it as a single mid layer . What do you think is it possible to wear it under a shell jacket - like an anorak - as single, stand alone middle layer on a base layer ?
Are you sponsored by fjällräven? :D because your reviews are really detailed I came to watch your review of the kajka backpack and ended up watching every single of your videos Sinne yesterday :D Keep up the great work 👍
Haha, I hope you enjoyed them all! I am not sponsored by them in any way, however i do like their products and I want to share my thoughts with you guys! Thanks for watching! :)
It’s not supercheap here either, but these are all things I’ve bought during the years, the good thing is that the last and you get what you pay for! Thanks for watching!
Interesting review, thank you Ted! I think i need a new fleece now....damn :D. The shoulder reinforcements are amazing. When will you take us on a new hiking adventure?
Nice review, as always 😁. How long do you use this garment? What do you think will it pile some more? And some general thoughts about longevity. Could you say some more about sizing? It is really difficult with Fjallraven. I wear their jackets and shirts from small to large. Thanks.
Great questions!! I’ve had this one for around 3 years, the quality is great, this is a jacket I can use in an everyday situation and I have so it will last you a long time! I’m 181cm and I’m about 75kgs and I’m wearing a size M! Like you I also have stuff from S to L haha, but I’ve changed in weight a bit the last years to! Thanks for you questions and thanks for watching! :)
@@TedWeirum okay i'll have to go try them out for myself. do you mainly wear fjallraven or others too? do you have a favorite pair of tech trekking outdoor trousers that are less baggy/wide legged than fjallravens? i own the vidda pros and the keb trousers. i love them but sometimes wish they had a more tapered modern look.
I hope you don’t find this to be an insult, but you are totally passable as an American. Where are you from? Thank you for all your reviews! -from an American. 👍🏼
I get what you mean! However if it was it would break apart pretty easy when wearing backpacks and going through all the rough use that it’s meant for! Thanks for watching!
It might, idk but I have been trying to replace my 320g/w Icebreaker Aspiring Hood jacket from 2010 for a year now. Look that one up, it's nearly the same piece just all merino and at the time I paid about $190usd for it. I got many solid fall/winter/springs cycles of near daily EDC backpack use with that one, miles of walking around manhattan streets, trains subways etc etc never treated it particularly well except for wool wash and line dry and it does hold up. With merino it's all in the knit pattern. My wear points were the crest of the tailbone from the backpack rubbing there and the elbows. Shoulders were fine with my typical 15lb daily pack. Now they dont make anything in that weight class or with a good collar and hood. Now I am considering just buying some 320 merino and patching it. Thats how I landed on this review, I am spiraling looking for a similar weight replacement :)
I get your point! My tip is to go to a fjallraven store and try it out, it might not be all merino but I think you’ll like it! I have two of them, one with a hood and one without I use them everyday now with the colder temps, they seem to last forever! :)

Hey bro just got mine the other day supernice. Cannot wait to test it on the trail. Keep up the good work Ted, and see you out there.
So glad to hear that! See you out there! :)

So far there’s been no problem for me, I got this one and a black one that I’ve had for even longer time!
it's been 4 year and this question might be more fitting since it's been that long, has the fleece been pilling a lot?
Indeed, it’s been a long time! No, this is still in great shape! If you go to the “top five outdoor gloves from Hestra video” you’ll see me using it there, it’s recent!
thank you for the video. i wasnt sure about buying this jacket just by seeing pictures. now i know i need it
Awesome brother! Hope you’ll like it!
Good video as usual Ted !
Thank you! Likewise! What’s the next trip for you guys? :)
Thanks =) don't know yet. Maybe a small trip home in Sweden. But first we want some better weather =P
Exactly! :)

Great review sir 👍 how tall are you and what size are you wearing ??
181 cm, size M! Thanks! :)
Man you got so much fjallraven! It’s crazy expensive in the states...
It’s not supercheap here either, but these are all things I’ve bought during the years, the good thing is that the last and you get what you pay for! Thanks for watching!
TedWeirum I wish they provided lifetime warranty on their products! I love fjallraven. Keep it up with the videos!
Thanks Eric! Right now they provide a 3 year warranty!
TedWeirum oh I didn’t know it was 3 yrs! But pretty sure it only covers factory defects, like buttons and zippers.
Im not sure there but I think you can always have a talk with them about it!
How would you describe the colour, I really like it but it doesn’t seem to match their website colours.
The color I have is the tarmac,
Don’t know if they’re selling that one anymore! Thanks for watching!
Interesting review, thank you Ted! I think i need a new fleece now....damn :D. The shoulder reinforcements are amazing.

My pleasure! to answer your question, real soon, might be the next video or the video after that! stay tuned! :)
How does this compare to the Arcteryx Covert, Patagonia Synchilla Snap-T, and North Face Denali?
Hi! What size do you use in this jacket? How tall are you? It seems pretty slim fit
Hey Marcus! It’s a size M, I’m 181 cm tall! It’s a tight fit cause it’s used as a middle layer! Thanks for watching!

how is this jacket compared to the abisko trail fleece?
I haven’t tried that one so I wouldn’t know, I can imagine that this one has the reinforcement over the shoulders and that the Abisko does not?

I mostly use Fjallraven, a brand called Tierra might have some of those trousers, check them out
hi love the reviews. Thank you. Are these Keb trousers you're wearing? If yes, what color is that?
Yes! Its tarmac, don’t know if they’re still selling these but I made a video about the pants as well! ruclips.net/video/ngz_Fcv1qGo/видео.html
Great review as always..got stuck in how to Choose midlayer hell but....Drar å kjøper denne i morgen.

Solid review. You can never have enough Fjallraven. What would be your dream Fjallraven item to buy?
Already have it! I thought about that yesterday actually! But that’s all I can say for now! ;)
Made in ? Size ? Thanks
Not sure, size M!
Thanks..
height Weight ??
1.90 cm - 80 kilograms. Which size do you think I should get? thank you so much
That’s a tough, there is a size guide on the website, look there, I’m 181 cm and around 87kgs
Thanks

Hahaha, you just made my whole day! Thanks for telling me! I’ll change it right away! :)
Den är skit snygg , men jag väger något mer än dig tror du en sådan skulle passa :)
Det finns ju storlekar större än denna, jag är helt övertygad om att den skulle passa dig! :)
I come to ted before buying anything Fjallraven
