I also give my budgies 'Moringa' leaves. They really love that vegetable. I often chop it up into bite size pieces and mix it with bird seeds so they would approach it. 😊
Hey Guys :D Last year I got my first two budgies, Cookie and Krümel. They were really young and scared of everything. We tried to make veggies and fruit appealing for them, but nothing worked. So my mom had a very funny idea. My budgies absolutely loved millet, so she wrapped some parsley around it and gave it to my birdies. They were used to eat out of our hands at this point, so they weren't scared of the parsley-millet-package. And it worked :D Now we have 6 budgies and they absolutely frickin' love their veggies :D
Thanks a lot bro.... My budgies have started eating vegetables finally. Your trick worked straight away...! I put the veggies on the places they love the most..... And it really worked..... ☺️☺️ I'm just loving it seeing them eating vegetables for for the first time. Thanks again.
My bird started to eat fruits or veggies like this: i ate an Apple cuz i wanted then My bird came and tryed to eat My fruit first i didnt want him to eat but he bit me. Then i gave him the apple
My budgie doesnt eat veggies or fruits but they eat cucumber is that good I also put seeds but they eat the seeds only and keep the fruit without touching them This helped me alot thank you
This website is amazing!Thank you for your hard work. I recently caught a budgie in my neighborhood so I have to learn a lot of things to take care of him.
My female budgie only approached the veggies as I got a new (male) budgie who ate it first. Both of them doesn’t know what fruits/veggies are and all the methods I tried didn’t work. I’m afraid that my female budgie falls sick not getting any Vitamine. She is already two years old and I only got her a year ago. The male is almost in the same age and got him from a bird breeder and as much as I can tell he never was fed any veggies or fruits before. The same goes to my female, my brothers wife had this beauty as she was few months old but treated her poorly, never gave her different kind of food neither did she know how to tame her and her cage was literally empty (only one perch and a swing was in) the food bowl was on the ground and her water place wasn’t changed for days.. and she lost her trust in humans completely, lucky she slowly trusted me over the year.. now I’m looking everywhere for more methods to get them. I will try again the methods for serval days.. 😥
This is very helpful i was given 2 budgies as birthday gift and recently i bought 2 more and i need all the info i can get to keep them happy and healthy 😊
Not many ways worked for me and my budgies would never eat their veggies. When I put veggies near their favourite perch they just sat on another one. Something that worked a bit for me was taking all the food sources out of my budgies' cage and putting some seeds on top of veggies. This way, they have to eat from the veggies and might nibble it. Make sure that your budgies do eat it though or they might starve.
My rescue budgie has fatty liver disease and is addicted to these snack sticks their former owner gave him. I am determined to reverse the fatty liver as much as possible so I jave some tricks up my sleeve to get him to eat yummy veggies
I know most people already know this but just in case there is some clueless new bird owner scrolling through the comments (who also hasn't listened to the video) all those things are toxic to birds. Always do your research rather than listening to randos in yt comments on the Internet, lol.
My parakeet is almost 5 years old. He seems healthy and happy, but his diet mainly consists of store-bought seed, millet once every 3-4 days, and very rarely broccoli. I plan on feeding broccoli and other foods more often, but I have a question. He usually eats his seed one by one, taking about a minute to chew. He has been doing this for 3-4 years, and I am just wondering if this is normal. Is it regurgitation?
Do you offer them any fruits? I have tried to get my birds to eat some but they haven't responded much to them so I was wondering if you have any easy recommendations.
I got soooo lucky with this little dude. I had a quaker when I was a kid for about 5 years before a stray cat snatched and ran (that cat got his the next day), I got this budgie to get some practice for a new white fronted amazon im gonna adopt. I got him yesterday as a baby from the pet store, he already sits on my finger, steps up, and let's me pet him. He's still a little shy and doesn't sing yet, but we are working on r2d2 sounds lol. He didn't want anything to do with us when we first got home, I stuck him on the couch with me and after a movie he stopped flying away from me, another hour he started to step up with a little push up. I don't think this is the way it usually goes. But my point is your budgie is a companion not just an ornament.
Thank goodness for Subtitles available. Also I recommend using Gloves and a Gas Mask when handling that Liquid. Like a Gas Mask with Filters. And I'm glad later on you used those Black Gloves. I love those even tho they are a bit pricey.
my budgies are idk what they are... if i give them veggies directly they don't even take a bite. but if i chop those veggies fine and put like 10-12 seeds over them they forget seeds and finish veggies first. they like carrot, lettuce so far...but they are not into sweet corn or boiled rice. day by day i am able to figure out what they like and what they don't.

Hello, thank you so much for the video. I got 2 budgies yesterday. I had a question, when feeding the vegetables, do you take out the seeds or just leave it there. Thank you in advance.
Hello. I feel a bit confused about one vegetable: years ago I was told that parsley is poisonous to parrots, so I've always avoided to give it to my budgies. Now I see in the video that they're eating it, and it is listed as safe in the tablet. Maybe parsley is toxic only for some types of parrots, or it's incorrect that it's harmful to them? In very, very large amounts it's toxic to us, too, and this is another matter.
The seed trick does work but you can’t just sprinkle them on top 🤦♂️ you have to chop or blend them up and mix them with their daily seed mix. In my experience this is the only way to get them to try it because they are cautious and reluctant to try new things.
Handfeed small pieces of lettuce. My budgies are afraid of big sized leaves. Also if you hv other budgies who eat it.. they will follow suit soon since they are social birds.
True, there are some contradictory information on the internet, and when that happens, I usually refrain from giving it to my budgies. With that being said, in your case, I wouldn't put them inside their cage, but if they are outside the cage, I don't believe the scent is toxic, but if you are worried, just don't let them get on the plant itself.
I sliced a side off a Honey Crisp Apple, put a hole through the center and strung it up with their toys. The Budgies took to it like a toy until they realized it tasted good. I gave them the apples for a while then introduced strawberries. Very rarely, I will give them %100 chamomile tea with one drop of honey, diluted with half water. I am thinking about introducing veggies. Any advice from y'all who successfully have?
I have a question if you decide to get a budgie i know a lot of people have said tha you probably should get 2 of them What is you get one and buy those like little mirror or something
Can you help me in taming my budgie so my budgie comes on my finger and isn’t scared but he doesn’t come outside the cage I’ve tried placing their food bowls outside and they didn’t come outside

Hi. Thank you for the informative video! I learned from you how to take care of my budgie. I would like to ask you to not use Arabic newspapers to contain birds’ wastes because Arabic newspapers, in most cases, has the names of Allah, verses from the Qur’an, and hadiths written on them. Also, because of that, they can’t be put in the garbage. In case you don’t need them any more you can burn them or give them to a Muslim that knows how to deal with them. In case it is not you who used the Arabic newspapers in this way, please tell me who used these newspapers in this way so that I can talk to them and give them the advice. Thank you a lot for your efforts.
