When Japanese Voice Actor Pronounces "The Earth"
HTML-код

- There's no "er" and "th" in Japanese, so this happens. I actually know a lot of games/animes where voice actors pronounce it this way.
oh well (And by the way auditions are never like this from my experience)
And before you guys say anything yeah it's a Jojo reference obviously, and yes for some reason some of you guys thought it's dio but it's jotaro

Being finnish and watching 'Sugar Sugar Rune' with my sisters as a kid was an experience. The romantic interest of the show is called 'Pierre' and in Japanese pronunciation it basically bends into 'Pieru'.
- Which in finnish is = fart.
At the age of 12, hearing characters most passionately scream "fart-sama" throughout the show definitely makes for peak entertainment.
I almost chocked reading this
lol 😂
I kinda have the same problem with Dr Stone, the main protagonist's name is Senkuu, wich in brazilian pronunciation it means "no ass" and I still laugh about it sometimes.
When I was watching Gankutsuou, they suddenly started calling a character "kakka-sama". From what I could gather, kakka is basically "your highness/excellency."
Too bad that in Finnish it means poo 💩
Apart from the senkuu mentioned previously there's this kakka that in Brazil means shi*t

For those who don't know, Japanese does not have a hard R or L sound. They do however, have a sound that's kind of a mix of both and so that's why. Sometimes it'll sound like they're saying an r or an l like in dragon Ball z with krillin but it sounds like Krirrin to English speakers. And so you get a grown man who has never had to make either of those sounds in his life suddenly have to make a hard R sound

The fact that he actually clearly speaks English and is trying hard to sound like he doesn't makes this hilarious on a whole new level.
Edit: So 7 months later and after reading the replies to my way overrated comment (I don't get it either), it occurred to me that some people may not understand what my point was. My point was that Sora clearly knows how to pronounce English properly, and is very deliberately exaggerating his accent for fun. I simply meant that normally when people are paying close attention to their pronunciation, they are trying to speak correctly. Here, I can imagine him trying really hard not to slip up and accidentally pronounce something _correctly._ Like how if you are reasonably fluent in a foreign language and you want to sound as incorrect as possible, it actually takes effort to suppress your correctly learned language skills. And the thought of someone sweating bullets to be as incorrect as possible improves the comedy of the skit.
Why are there no replies?

No joke. I took a Japanese class in HS. don't remember why we had this exercise but we were told to say English phrases but with a Japanese accent. most were fine but when we got to "below me" everything fell apart. sounded like the whole class was telling our teacher to blow us. afterwards we started coming up with more profanity but masked it with Japanese pronunciation
I am learning japanese using a website because this country has shitty curriculum. This High school I'm in doesn't have langauges like Japanese etc.
I wonder why your teacher wanted the whole class to say such things... kind of creepy that they set that exercise.

This would actually be cool if Japanese anime would be translated to English by Japanese who speak like this. It would make us feel like we are watching the anime in Japanese but understanding it as well.
LOL! I have always wondered why in dubbed movies (I am German, and movies are traditionally translated and dubbed to German, here) people would have stuff like French accents or Latino accents, which made 0 sense to me, considering that the whole thing had been translated from English in the first place. But here you come and give a great reason for that kind of phenomenon!
Omg. TRUE
Aight, I get the idea, but I probably wouldn't want to read stuff in a language I don't speak, especially as an MC. Also, some Japanese people don't really pronounce them as clearly as he did here, so you'd need subtitles anyway
Look up D4DJ here on youtube. One of the main characters Maho has the same voice actress for both the Japanese and English dubs. She is quite fluent in English, but it definitely sounds off compared to the English voice actresses for the rest of the cast.
Yu brow mai maindo 🤯
On the one hand, this sounds cool if the character is supposed to have a Japanese accent.
On the other hand, if the character is supposed to have an English accent (Pony Tsunotori from _Boku No Hero Academia,_ for example), replicating one can be tricky, and the decision to cast Peter Ho as Leo/Kamen Rider Psyga was ultimately an amazingly good choice.
Wow I've never seen anyone name drop Psyga on RUclips comments before. Nice

Honestly its why I prefer the original Japanese with subs to dubs. They put way more emotion into their performances.
@@chrisg5219 Saying everything with a ridiculous degree of intensity isn't automatically good though. There is such thing as too much emotion for a given line.
@@Candlemancer that’s true but they put more emotion depending on what scene or feeling is supposed to be happening. If it’s sad, they make it sound sadder. Happy, they make it sound happier. You get it
where the f did you find that frog mammon pfp man-
@@mincat1412 that's still not necessarily better. Good acting has a range, a spectrum, not just static points at the far ends. Characters are allowed to sound *quite* happy or sad or angry, not just ecstatic or suicidal or enraged. It's about having the appropriate level of emotion to the situation (unless the character is specifically supposed to be overly emotional).
For a moment i was confused because every character in this sketch has the main character hair style. Truly it must symbolize that we are all the main characters of our own lives. Subarashi!
