For the English speaking part, I had 3 different encounters with Japanese people. situation 1 - The Person where pretending to understand me and after 5 minutes (he barely spoke) was he sending us in a wrong direction. Situation 2 - I was wondering how the cigarette vending machine works, so I asked this old businessman if he maybe speaks English, he started with almost no dialect, "i am not that fluent but might be of use. how exactly can i help" Situation 3 - "ah no sorry no englisu" walks away .. (this is probably the main reaction me and my friends got)
Why do they need to know English? In most countries besides the European ones (and for them English is basically a lay-up), it is normal to communicate with the use of sign language and grunts. It's generally a good idea to know your exact route before doing any travelling anywhere, especially overseas. Japanese people - particularly in the rural areas - simply don't need English. This is generally true for city people too, since the ones that need to deal with foreigners will learn it, and the ones that don't deal with foreigners will likely never need to deal with them and probably shouldn't be expected to learn it on the off chance that a lost foreigner will ask directions. Especially given that we all have smartphones now and everything of importance in Japan has English-language signage anyways.

We walked in to a non tourist area in search of a cigarettes-store and he starts talking in German to the cashier and demands her to answer back in german. The typing though lol. In America, I was always on the slow end of average for typing speed. Its fun seeing this, cause stereotypes are pretty common for every Country, here in Brazil for example, my Aunt used to work on a shopping mall, and some English speaking person came about (she does not know English so she couldn't ask where they were from) dude just came about tried English and when she said she couldn't he pulled out some Spanish, sure it helped a little, since Spanish and Portuguese are close but still, it was hillarious that people still think Brazil is a Spanish/Castellano speaking Country.
Look i only know so many if English don't work, I'll try my Cajun french , if that don't work all I got left is Mexican Spanish and scots Gaelic
...
@@maxmccullough8548 why did Middle Irish Gaelic spread into Scotland to become Scots Gaeilge?
@@mryan4452 once the celts we're unified as the Kingdom of Alba reigning over most of modern Ireland and Scotland, the languages diverged after the Northmen broke the Kingdom.
@@maxmccullough8548 no evidence of Alba in Ireland, it doesn't appear in our history anyhow. It seems to be a bit unclear from what I've seen, but seems to have been passed from Ireland into Scotland, through trade between North East of Ireland and West of Scotland. But it's not v clear.
@@mryan4452 say what you will, it's better documented than many contemporaneous kingdoms in other parts of the world. It seems you've accepted the sassenachs lies about my people's history, good day.
That's a legendary guitar made in 1840
This guitar says he's sad. . . .
what a LEGEND 😁😂🤣
pretty awesome
thank you for the video
The very fast typing/ playing, I've seen it live at an arcade at night in Tokyo.
Whatever myths you're breaking, you can't break that vision of a young japanese adult going mach 3 on a rhythm game at 9pm on a week day.
I wanna really thank u today sora bec I'm not really a person who likes posting comments but ur video always make me laugh so when I'm depressed thinking abt my probs ur videos reaaaallly cheer me up and hope for the best. Thank u sooo much !!! 🤹♀️
For the English speaking part, I had 3 different encounters with Japanese people.
situation 1 - The Person where pretending to understand me and after 5 minutes (he barely spoke) was he sending us in a wrong direction.
Situation 2 - I was wondering how the cigarette vending machine works, so I asked this old businessman if he maybe speaks English, he started with almost no dialect, "i am not that fluent but might be of use. how exactly can i help"
Situation 3 - "ah no sorry no englisu" walks away ..
@@userxl41drn301 Well since im not a nativ english speaker and in fact frome europe i know what you mean. I also belive you understod me wrong or infact maybe i wrote it in a confusing way. If the last is the case sry for the confusion.
I am fully aware of the fact that english is basically extra for them. I did not insinuate that they have to speak it or that i was confused that they dont speak english. I just explained what types i encountered upon asking if they might speak it.
I am luckily not my granddad.
A long time ago he was with me in Spain. We walked in to a non tourist area in search of a cigarettes-store and he starts talking in German to the cashier and demands her to answer back in german. At the same time me about 14 years old standing next to him, understanding the situation and just looking confused and wondering if he is serious. ..he was xD
No one's gonna talk about Sora's guitar playing skill?. I think he made this video to show off a bit of that.
4:28 MOM?
why does he making a face like my mom does
1:17-1:47 Kuroko Reference power of friendship and 2:30-2:44 your guitar is sooo fluent like your English well played Sora 🤓💯✨
Apart from jokes, japanese discipline, craftsmanship and work culture is unparalleled, it is what made Toyota a giant it is today and makes people travel 9000 km to eat 200$ sushi. Love from Kazakhstan.
Those who actually work here understand and know the truth Vs anime/fantasy thats created about Japan and it's discipline, work culture etc.

Your guitar skills are amazing. 🎸🔥🔥🔥
*_Somehow this is what it feels like to do programming/coding. You wanted to write those strings of code fast._*
*_In reality, we wished we had those speed. And then there's code troubleshooting, to make sure that your domain/game functions or has an error that must be corrected._*
*_And we wished we could have speed work._*
_Also, if you're trained at guitar IRL... I'm a piano._
This made my day! Thank you! The last bit reminded me of the old folks who ran an oden eatery in Asakusa who spoke no English. They were super stressed when we visited and ordered food from the menu (all in Japanese) by pointing and I regretted entering the eatery though the food’s amazing (the smell drew me in)
It’s just funny because it feels like seeing a foreigner for the first time you’re just afraid of what they expect of you, even though most of the time they just want to sit and do normal thing like eat.
Oh my god😍😍sora is literally soo good at playing the guitar and English.im soo happy I found his channel, cause his skits are top teir
Thats pretty funny. I think your version of how Japanese react to a foreigner was a bit more accurate. 😂
This is one of the best videos, amazing as always, Ganbatte ne Sora sensei
"The guitar says he's sad..."
Ok that guitar solo slapped ngl
4:23 I CAN IMAGINE MYSELF DOING THE SAME 😂
Y'all I think I am in love with him! Literally i am watching all of his videos and laughing crying so bad like..! Help! I am so so happy that I came across your channel 😭❤️
Sora is literally spitting at 1:23
Omg I had to rewind it! Lol
@@LittletriniWeeb I saw it with my eagle eyes and was like aint no way this dude just spat and i checked he did...
Outstanding guitar skills.❤
That one at the end (reality) is pretty much exactly how my communications with random person in street who enthusiastically approached me with a leaflet, went down in Japan. Very much got the impression she thought she'd be able to talk to me, and quickly realised she couldn't.
😆😆😆😆 More gold you've made I see. Bro this priceless and that ending, even better
LMAOO, I grew up with smoke on the water, dude! When you said that, I laughed so hard. And yeah...def copyright claimable, so you did the right thing.
Reminds me of the anime Vs real life Japanese videos. Interesting to see smoke on the water being a meme here too. Love these videos of yours.
"This guitar says he's sad..."
don't worry, guitar. Have a cookie
Dayum Sora! You seriously got skills on that guitar thooo!!! 🎸 rock on!!
Sora looking for Mario's lore be like 0:25
0:28 Typeracer pro's techniques and training has finally been revealed (also the epik keyboard)
That last part had me like "wow...im glad I made sure that I learned Japanese before going to Japan cause I think I'd scare people off sadly 😅" I hope to be able to make it easy for them to respond to me
Ahh sora is so humble n makes me laugh lots that I keep forgetting this guy is also talented
The typing though lol. In America, I was always on the slow end of average for typing speed. But in Japan, the other teachers at my school ask me to type up English exams or test score lists all the time and are constantly surprised with how fast I go... Like typing a couple short paragraphs or some simple excel test grade lists aren't exactly time-consuming (especially the grade lists).
I remember I saw Japanese college students typing in Japan and I could not believe how slow they were. They asked us why foreigners were so fast typing.
@@goldcherries Interesting, were they using Japanese "kana" keyboards, or Western ones with the latin alphabet? I will say that they're fucking fast when typing on their phones lel
@@userxl41drn301 I think they were using the kana keyboard because I recall there being the hiragana there, but it might have been it was set to the western standard since I only interacted with them in the foreign student lab. However it felt like they should know how to set it to Japanese and I still got told foreigners were so fast .
Good job Sora the troll. Your videos are extremely entertaining and your songs are nice to listen to. The how to say series is also hilarious and as well as the mostly skits. It is also kind of you that your songs are for free forever and that you don't claim copyright on them either. I hope that you keep up the good work and make more funny and entertaining videos. You are my favourite RUclips Channel and whenever I watch your videos, I laugh out loud. Bye.
I agree with what you said. Sora the troll's videos are extremely funny. I would also laugh out loud. This video is also very funny.
4:13 damn Sora just roasted us lol xD
Keep up these videos there are really awesome, and iconic never saw that on RUclips before. I love you man you made my day.
I like this series, it gives me insider view of what actually happened everyday, since Japanese people behave differently on camera, it's still amazing though, that your country still manage to be categorized as the 1st world country despite most of working adults are working like that...
and yeah about English, there's another Japanese youtuber who explains about it using data from well known English courses, it seems how Japanese language constructed and used everyday is a huge barrier for most Japanese people from learning English...which many of 3rd world countries didn't have
I love how he played like the first two notes of smoke on the water and then there was the copyright claim
3:15 I'm sorry, but while he was of course not as dramatic as your sketch, when I asked a policeman for direction at Shibuya (Tokyo) he spoke exactly with that accent LMAO
This whole thing reminds me of an anime 😂 great skit btw sora 👏👌
I just woke up and this
I found your channel a while ago and subscribing was a great decision
I laughed a lot for the first time in a while. Thank you! Also if only you didn’t cut that part off! ☹️ Hoping for you to play that in an upcoming private stream if I can join!
