Huge fan of Kirioth. He’s just honest and never seems interested in whether or not a video will “do well”, but just in presenting his view or opinion on a subject.
Really interesting chat about therapy. My wife died 2 years ago and listening to you guys and getting out all my old Undead and Slann models to paint has literally kept me going. I know more people in the hobby now, but this channel and the painting was the start.
There's a putty version that doesn't suffer in quite the same way, though the nozzle does tend to get blocked 🤦 one I've just started trying is Ammo by MIG surfacer, I've found it good so far
Another great show guys, nice to see Kirioth having a chat, big fan of his channel. And I agree, Liquid Greenstuff is the unsung hero of the habitual converter/kit-basher. It can fill very minor gaps, but it is a poor tool for it, but as a medium for adding textures to miniatures it's great, blending between clothing/skin/metal, adding ragged edges to cloth, dirt/rust texture before painting; and it can be stippled on thick or thin for a lumpy uneven surface to a very nice smooth velvety texture. Thanks for the hobby time entertainment. Carry on being awesome and take care.
That ork army was my first white dwarf mag... I've spent the rest of my hobby life trying to do kitbashes and custom poses 😂 So incredibly relatable! I miss the glory days...
I've been a few weeks behind due to life but I've just listened to this episode with Kirioth, his description of hobby and mental health hits the nail on the head. When I hobby it's the only time I am genuinely switched off, it doesn't matter if I have a podcast or music on or if I'm in complete silence once I'm sat building or painting my brain goes into shut down mode. Keep up the great content guys, your banter, little quirks around the hobby keep me coming back each episode, even if you were completely wrong regarding oils and pigments 😂
Great interview. I love Kirioth's kitbashes. He's spot on about the lack of options in newer sets but it is good to see the amount of upgrade sets now and hopefully GW will make many more
hi , after 20 years in the hobby, i mybee painted 10 mini´s, your podcast was giving me the motivation to realy start painting i was telling me no more gaming with a grey mini. so i startet painting thankyou for that. i realy love the podcast realy chill to listen. for me it is as i sitting down with my friends in real life it have the same wipe . my friends are a big fan to. the guest always realy nice and fun to listen. thanks for your work with the pod cast. greetings from austria sry for the bad english
I Started with RT back in the late 80s'. Built up two armies totalling 40k points, and lost them in 96, when a drunken roommate crashed through my bedroom door and right through the table they were all sitting on. Kept painting here and there, usually other peoples armies, and my own specialist game forces (Necromunda and Blood Bowl). 2008 I dove back in and started painting blood bowl teams and selling them in my game shop. Finally returned to 40k with Kill Team and 10th ed.
I've just found the original article about that Speed Fresks army - Born to be Green - George Dellapina's Speed Freak Army in WD294 (Storm of Chaos cover, UK issue) if anybody want to go read up about it. The image in the video is from a battle report in WD298, with articles on his Feral Ork boarboyz in WD298 and WD299. I can remember being really inspired by it too.
@Kirioth Liquid Greenstuff is just PVA with green in it. Try a Heavy Matt Medium from Golden(Hobbycraft). golden also do a variety of Gel Mediums, Fine and Coarse Pummice, etc
I think we should have universal laws about social media algorithms. I suspect it's as much (or more) about them picking fights as our attraction to conflict.
Necessity is the mother of innovation: if you're afraid to kitbash something, try building the kit with your kid on your lap - SOMETHING will go missing, and it will probably be something important. Now you *need* to kitbash.
I’d love to see a battle report between Kirioth and the Warsinger guy who sculpts minis out of hot glue. It’d be impossible to tell which mini is what unit, but the level of weirdness and cosmic horror would be off the charts.
I'm having that similar sensation of "oh, I want this as miniature and do this" when I see the new Speed Freeks game and restraining myself from buying one of each featured vehicle
I really miss the days when we could order specific parts one-at-a-time when kit-bashing. I get why, as their business grew, GW had to stop doing that, but it was so much more fun for those of us who love to bash-dem-kits.
Negativity sells, conflict sells. This is the curse of the internet, in that it seems to encourage whinging little pricks, instead of rewarding good artistic work...more often than not. But as an aging boomer, that's redundant isn't it, I use the internet as a source of information and not entertainment born of conflict.

Yeah, hes the perfect guest, I love him in Adeptus Ridiculous too!

Glad to see Joe back as a guest
Kirioth on AdRic this week AND Paint Perspective. It's a good week.
Kirioth is actually hilarious, he just goes off on mad tangents and it’s great to watch, very relatable 😂😂
Fantastic episode. I have bought liquid Green Stuff 3 times. Used each pot once, gone to use it again & found a solid fused mess.

That beginning advert... You can't say it's important to have the right tools with out us now thinking of the dewalt sniper himself 😂

Superb episode gents. Great chat surrounding the mental health aspect. Hats off to you

Excellent episode with a very relatable person. Great work
I forgot about that speed freaks army! What an inspiration
First seen Kirioth on adric and I don't know why I never looked his channel up. Definitely will now.

Long-time Kirioth fan here, I think it's "blithering entertainingly about miniatures."
Best "Worst" Intros and Outros ever!

Thanks for answering my QOTW, chaps! Great guest and topics. Paint-by-numbers time, here we come!

Loved this one. Almost sold AoS. Great therapy too.
Appreciate the Tears for Fears love; as much as seeing Kirioths kitbashes!

I made tactical squad out of soulful and flavourful old sternguard veterans. Now each of them look like the are wearing relics of centuries/millenia
Dude looks like he should be wielding an ancient battle age and a flagon of Dwarvish mead.
Bashing is best!
My Skaven are squirrels, some with wings and I am starting a KO army that is actually Sky Skaven, lol
How many lamps have you sold out of curiosity? Really interested but can’t just £90 on a lamp unfortunately

I believe I have a serious case of hyphenitis.
James still away? Did he spontaneously combust over the retro paint comments last week?? 🤣🤣
If one of the best kitbashers in the game (and my fa price creator) has self-doubt that proves it is not based in reality. So knock it off.
