    I don't think you have to sand down the new pads.The caliper has adjustment screws

    Yout should be able to easily allign them by pressing the break down then locking them in, this will make sure on both sides u have even as much space and no rubbing on either, cheers

      @joco118 5 лет назад +1

      You have to tighten the inner pad to the rotor if you don't do that it won't alighn right it's not like on hydraulic brakes only one pad goes in

    My inner brake pad shipped way out of spec, meaning the outer pad is pushing inward because there's such a big gap on the inner side. It actually bends the disc because there's so much play. Thank you for the video, I'll have to tackle this soon.

    Hi Doug Hnut! I really appreciate all the high quality content you publish regarding the features of the xiaomi m365! It has really helped me in my purchase, but i am wondering if i could what kind of locking mechanism you would suggest for this scooter? Its been a little difficult finding further information. Appreciate all that you do!

      i personally dont use a lock, but i would recommend a "u" shaped lock used like the one like this www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Xiaomi-Mijia-M365-Electric-Scooter-Skateboard-Wheels-Hub-Lock-Security-Anti-Theft-Cable-Tyre-Tire-U/2500012_32888213797.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.18.47f442bbjzCkRH&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_5_10152_10151_10065_10344_10068_10130_10342_10547_10343_10340_10548_10341_10696_10084_5724015_10083_10618_10139_5724315_10307_5724215_5724115_10059_100031_5725015_10103_5724915_10624_10623_10622_10621_10620,searchweb201603_2,ppcSwitch_7&algo_expid=2083bad3-78e4-4bb5-91b7-42967c1f5789-2&algo_pvid=2083bad3-78e4-4bb5-91b7-42967c1f5789&transAbTest=ae803_2&priceBeautifyAB=0

    Hey man!! Today I decided to take all apart the hub and battery compartment notice water in side, I pulled everything out cleaned the water dry it with hair blow dryer. Put all back together now runs good again. It seem that water seeps down the colum were it folds. And it wasn't raining that much. I'm going to load some pics on my comments when you have a chance take a look.
    Thanks.

    • @DougHnut

      Will do! I'm glad you figured it out. The water could be also coming in from where the cables go into. The silicone grommets may not be seating properly.

    Another great video, do you have any estimated miles before you replaced your brake pads?

  • @StreetyKing
    @StreetyKing 6 лет назад +3

    Thanks for making these videos, I know they will be useful In the future. Can you let us know roughly how long you had your scooter and how much mileage you did so we know roughly when to change the pads. Or is there any indication on when to change? Sorry for the dumb question.

    • @DougHnut
      @DougHnut  6 лет назад +2

      No problem!. I have about 1200 km on it when i changed the pads. periodically i would tighten the cable, and then i eventually ran out of adjustment. so that was my indication

    Hi Doug!
    I only use my scooter two day maybe 15km on it, today I was taking it for a spin and hub motor wasn making really loud sound like vibration felt like a old rusty wheel that has been left outside for years, than stops completely, kick started again same thing. Doesn't run. One of day I driven it was some small puddles. Don't know if water got in anywhere.
    I just posted a video with the motor making that sound.

    • @DougHnut
      @DougHnut  6 лет назад

      Sounds like some dirt got inside the motor. Or there was something already inside the motor is loose. Nothing should be able to get inside the motor from regular riding, including puddles up to 2 inches deep.
      I took apart a clone m365 motor because it made similar noises. And found 2 tiny pieces of a broken zip tie inside it. But haven't tried the motor since to confirm noise is gone or not

    Got it to work again! 😁...today manage to take it all apart, again found some water in battery compartment but not water either on battery or the board. I'm assuming its humidity that's causing it. Do you think if I use just some saran wrap to wrap the electric board would be ok ?
    Thanks

    • @DougHnut
      @DougHnut  5 лет назад +1

      If it's humidity then saran wrap don't help. Maybe those desiccant packs will help humidity . But best thing to do if try and find out where this water is coming in from.
      This other day I ran through a puddle at least 4 inches deep. No problems. Pants, jacket and face wet.

    Hi does the front wheel break at all because there is only one handle for the rear break? Does the rear wheel only break? Thanks

    • @DougHnut
      @DougHnut  6 лет назад +1

      yes, the front wheel brakes by using regenerative braking through the motor. it is quite strong and can be adjusted through the MI home app. most of the stopping power comes from the front brake.

    The brake disc often bend while Slow down. The Material from the wheel of the disc is inferior. It is a Problem with the material. You will always have a grind of you driving. It is normal.

    • @DougHnut
      @DougHnut  5 лет назад

      you are going to have to take the battery cover off and measure the voltage. there is a reset button on the bms . you can see it through the clear plastic. just press and hold it for a few seconds, that might work if the battery is ok

    • @DougHnut
      @DougHnut  5 лет назад

      also, it should hold charge for a lot longer than a few weeks if the batteries are in good shape.
