Thank you so much for this! I’m planning on doing something like this for a sheet cake and I think if I just increase the amount of fondant it will be perfect :)
Great technic, however, what if i want to cover a round cake, like when the bottom of the cake is darker than the top side. i.e under ocean like thing from darker blue at the bottom to lighter blue at the top... Note-its a round cake.
I can see how it works but like everyone has said it's a long strip isn't going to cover your average cake. I would recommend airbrushing, quicker and easier
Triangle part looks a bit stupid, because you could just cut both colors with a diagonal and it work the same xd but thank you for showing the method itself o-o now would be great to find how to make a transition from center to edges of the circle X)
just add more triangles of each color. instead of 2 blue triangles and 2 white triangles use 4 or 6 blue triangles and 4 or 6 white triangles. I think it should work that way too

Now how would you do this with a cicirle of fondant to actually cover a cake?

this is not very efficient because how are you meant to cover an 8" round with that
Biola F agree
It's not very efficient, is it?

sadie houser exactly especially a round shape ?
@georgia gorgina, you don't have to be rude about how she works
Yes they do
Yay, got there in the end. Well done!
so how do i ombre a huge chunk of fondant to cover a 12" round cake???

Muy bonito,gracias por enseñar!
Quadrilateral?
I hate when people cook or do things to eat, with long nails! it´s not hygienic!
