    They need to focus on the area where the Wild Mouse/Trauma Towers were. It’s crying out for redevelopment. It honestly looks awful. The loss of the Wild Mouse still upsets so many people.

    I still think there’s something brewing in the whole FY4 / Trauma Towers area which is why the area is dying on its feet at the moment, like they’re hanging fire until they can put a new coaster in. I think Ice Blast could go, maybe replaced with a covered seating area as an extension to Loki’s. I don’t think Avalanche is going anywhere with them painting it the last two off-seasons. Maybe if they stop painting it this year then I might change my mind.

    If Ice Blast was to go. Then I would replace that with a Drop tower - Either a high capacity (30+ seat version) Gyro Drop or a Sky Jump I think would be a good replacement and increase capacity. The ride station could be themed in with Valhalla.
    Then when the time comes to replace Skyforce: Put the Gyroswing in its place there.
    The rumours about Avalanche I just file in the same place about the rumours about Nash last year. I don't see it being removed in the near future. I would guess that Mack are still able to support the coaster, and we may just be in a period where the trains are going through a full maintenance phase and as such it's been this season where it's been down to 1 train while the others are refurbed and that there has been one train back in the workshop or back to Mack for a full strip and testing.
    I certainly don't think BPB will remove a coaster before there is a new coaster elsewhere in the park.
    I'd love to see something go in to the fill the Hub/former Bowl-a-drome part. That part of the park needs some kind on attraction
    Also, replace or reuse the Meteor and put in either an Intamin Dynamic Motion Stage or (money no object) a Intamin Dome Ride

    Avalanche is a popular ride with the general public,and with families as it has a lower height reduction when you ride with an adult.

    Agreed about the need for a major coaster in that central area. It seems more and more challenging to pull organic footfall in from Blackpool visitors and it seems to me it needs to become more of a destination for non enthusiasts too. I think the place is in for a real tough time without drastic strategy changes. Be them popular with the likes of us or not.

    This year not only you, but this channel in particular has grown on me more than any. The honest reviews and approach to this channel this season has been great. But let’s make one thing very clear. Pleasure beach this season has been awful. And Amanda is nothing short of a disgrace and she is destroying this park. She needs to be removed more than anything. I will not return to pleasure beach next year until she is gone. And that ain’t easy to say. I future is very very dull whilst she’s still there.

  • @davidGPS95

    Dont think they will remove Skyforce due to the annual Blackpool red arrows air display on the Prom, i think the priority should be to do something with the empty space where Trauma Towers and the Wild Mouse used to be .

  • @ballbag
    @ballbag 9 месяцев назад +3

    I think you just have to think logically. They dont like to remove stuff that families like, and things that are visually appealing.
    They had to change the structure of Avalanche's Brake run to accommodate the new pathway when Icon was being built.
    They made a new entranceway this season. They've started adding a structure at the back of the station for another staircase I believe. Avalanche is a ride people love.
    Grand Prix - Looks a mess, ugly, probably a lot of finnicky electronics, clearly unloved at the moment, is closed most of the time etc.
    Ice Blast is a fan favourite but it's also in Amandas precious entrance area, so I wouldnt be surprised to see that go and be replaced with more open space/sculptures.

    • @yourexperienceguide

      Worth remembering BPB refurbished the Water Chute then closed it, refurbished the Wild Mouse and then removed it.

  • @owenstreet7
    @owenstreet7 9 месяцев назад +2

    I'd understand Ice Blast going sooner than later considering maintenance and the age of the ride. I agree that a viking themed Gyro Swing would be fantastic replacement for it.
    Grand Prix and Avalanche, I can imagine would be a good long term option I'd say. I remembered your video at the start of the season where the markings at the Bowladrome area were covered so wonder if a coaster of a similar demographic may come there before Avalanche goes. I'd imagine a Mack Spinning Coaster as a good replacement for Avalanche.
    Skyforce, I'd say is quite new so if it goes, I can imagine it'll get sold on somewhere like Bling. I'm not so sure about the hotel expansion. I think a relocation to the site of Space Invader/Big Pizza Kitchen with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles retheme in Nickelodeon Land would be fantastic and give it a new lease of life 😊

  • @Clara-ph7my

    I agree with you regarding Avalanche. I do like the ride but when it is running on one car, the queue can get quite ridiculous. Especially when you get 2 or 3 single riders taking up the spaces. I would not be surprised with Ice Blast going. Drop Towers are a bit dated now. The thrill has gone, unless they get built creative, with a theme. I certainly would not miss Sky Force.

    Avalanche going would be really sad imo, it's a great family ride and it'd leave a big hole in the line up imo. If they're getting rid of Grand Prix idk why they wouldn't be able to build a coaster around/ontop of Avalanche. They should take back the height record with a B&M dive there.

    It would be a shame to see Grand Prix go just because of its heritage however if the up keep of it is too expensive and they could replace it with something exciting and with a higher throughput then I understand why they’d remove it. With ice blast I think it’s a weak ride but would love another drop tower in the park to replace it, with Apocalypse going we need a good drop tower in a park. I think avalanche needs a complete overhaul however I’d hate to see it go. It’s a classic and would keep that classic pleasure beach feel. I respect their plans of moving forward and keeping modern but I’d love to see it keep that classic feel. It makes me worry about other classics like derby racer and Alice. Great video!

  • @stevesmith589
    @stevesmith589 9 месяцев назад

    Out of all the rides you mentioned, the only one I would be sad to see go would be The Avalanche. However the queues for it do make it a suitable candidate. Never understood how grand prix has stayed so long? Never got the attraction of it. Removing both would create some good space for new developments.
    Sky force for me was never as good as bling. Was sad when that left. Can’t have the hotel dictating what goes in the park surely?
    And Ice blast just doesn’t seem to have the oompf it used to have, and you can see over the years how short the queues have become. Replacements need to happen, and with the right ‘thing’, can only attract more footfall to the area.
    Great vid as always. Keep it up.

    On removing avalanche and grand prix. I could imagine the section between space invader all the way up to wallace and gromit including Nickoleon land. As a family friendly area. The timing of this video ties in with a conversation I had had a few days ago with someone. The great thing about BPB is they do keep rides going as long as possible but it does mean then havea lot of old rides. The question I had is where is it possible to be a new ride and I don't think they can with the space the have so if they wanted something new then something has to go. I really like Iceblast and Skyforce. The Grand national is quite a unique ride but not comfortable and is certainly showing its age. The Grand prix is a great ride but very tired and the throughput is incredibly slow. I would be ok with this and Avalanche being removed.

    • @yourexperienceguide
      @yourexperienceguide  9 месяцев назад +1

  • @handsoffmycactus2958
    @handsoffmycactus2958 9 месяцев назад +2

    Remove and replace? Eh? That’s not what happens at BPB. Remove and cover in astroturf maybe! I think it’s laughable to think they’ll remove these rides and put anything in their place. Look at all the former ride areas. Trauma Towers, Wild Mouse, Space Invader 2, the dome thing, the buildings near River Caves. The SI2 building is a pizza restaurant - but not a ride. The others are basically empty space.
    That podcast was a joke. Why she wasn’t challenged over her claims is ridiculous, yes some of her points were fair and reasonable but others weren’t. She said progress, you need to remove old to replace with new, but how often has this happened?

    Admission is an issue & it’s driving families with non riding parents away. They need to have a lower pay per ride option. Reduced admission with, for example, just one ride on the PB express included plus self serve ticket machines to issue single ride QR tickets. Save for a few ticket machines the equipment is already there so would cost little & would increase footfall whilst continuing making the park unattractive to stags & hens.

    I’ve never been able to ride Grand Prix. The one and only time when I’ve seen it open I got to the front of the queue and it started raining. My cousin and her son took the first car, with her daughter and myself planning to get in the next and they closed the ride saying it couldn’t operate in the rain. Now to me, a ride that can’t operate in rainy weather… in England… seems really pointless.
    Never been on Skyforce or Ice Blast as neither appeal to me but my sister would be sad to see IB go.
    I kinda like how unique Avalanche is - if I’m right I don’t think there’s another like it in the uk and so I’d be sad to see it go. However the one and only time I went on it I didn’t think they were going to fasten our safety bar and we were shouting for help only to be ignored. It did fasten but it spoiled my enjoyment of the ride (which was also a million times faster than it appears on you POVs lol 😂) and for that reason I might say it could go.
    However on reflection I don’t think they should be removing more rides unless there’s an immediate replacement lined up. Too many have gone with nothing new taking its place. And like you I’d be sad to lose space to the hotel.

    Great Video the only one I'd be surprised to see go is sky force maybe they could move it to another area of the park I'm not sure

    Replace ice blast with a new bigger, taller faster one, viking themed.
    Not a fan of sky force replace that with something different.
    I still think bppb would hugely benefit from an rmc coaster, something we need in the UK.
    A highly themed launch coaster.
    Maybe redisign some of the elements on the big one to make it a bit more interesting. None of this would actually happen, but it would be nice.
    It would be good if bppb could get some funding off the government to go green. That could help with costs ect

      RMCs appeal to enthusiasts, not sure it’s what the UK industry needs.
      Definitely don’t see another launch coaster or Big One changes other than retracking.

    Thought Avalanche ran very shaky this year. Remove that and Grand Prix and stick in an Intamin Blitz I’d be there nearly every weekend. Pretty sure I’m living in fantasy land there though.

    I kind of like the idea of the hotel stretching into the Sky Force plot. It currently is a dead end and a real Hotel gate/entrance is great. Sure they could have a show area or new eating outlet and it could really bring a nice vibe to a drab corner of the park. The park as plenty of space for rides and yeah I would like to see more and I think all these rumors are good rumors. BPB is going to continue to struggle and really need to do something to bring back the excitement with Merlin starting to invest(hopefully lol)

    Probably a boomerang coaster will fit in the space in-between grand prix and avalanche what do you reckon

    How long as Revolution got left? It's nearly as old as me!! 1979 I think. Jesus! It's going to be 45 years old next year! Left it get to 50 then rip it out along with Grand Prix and Avalanche, then RMC that massive footprint. Amanda Thompson, that gives you 5 years to save up or get out!! (This is nevet gunna happen, but I can dream!!)

    I know it’s an iconic ride but the big dipper is awful to ride personally. Grand Prix definitely could go. They haven’t really kept up with the upkeep of avalanche it’s very worn now which suggests it’s going at some point! I bloody love skyforce! It could be moved to the ice blast area

      Wild Mouse was unique to the UK but got binned. It needs a lot spending on the track and trains.

      They spent money on refurbishing the Wild Mouse, it permanently closed the following winter.

    Hopefully red arrows do not leave. I absolutely love it as I know how to. Perhaps lots of enthusiasts hate it as they don’t know how to flip - can see ice blast leaving though

      Banning an events organiser responsible for bringing large groups to the park every year would be an interesting move.

    It's been said every year for the last 5 years at least that ice blast and sky force are going 🙄. It goes when it goes, As for paint markings on the floor next to ice blast 😂 you sound like these bored single mums on Facebook saying people as going round marking Fencing to steal dogs 😂😂. Some poor bugger dropped a slush and it stained the floor that's about right.... Right now theres way way bigger problems wrong with the park than new rides needed like AMANDA THOMPSON for starters.

      I’m not going to ignore markings all around Ice Blast, especially when various sources are telling me it’ll be gone and replaced by 2025. Let’s see…
