I can see you'll do anything for a ride on the Big One, Darren - even if it involves a Walk (or Ride, in this instance), on The Wet Side... The red poncho suits your colouring well, it must be said! I'm impressed the two of you can still walk straight: I don't think I'd be walking at all after that lot - my last PB ride having been on my favourite Log Flume, in 1986 if I remember correctly. What is it about being soaked like that that is so amusing? I guess its' what comes of growing up on a diet of It's a Knock Out!!
My mother went on the big dipper in Blackpool 68 years ago when she was 20! She said it was fun!! I haven't been to Blackpool since the 90's, I definitely need to have another visit. Looks like you had a fantastic time there.
Hi Darren, another great video! I live in Blackpool & my brother & I used to go on the park all the time as kids growing up. Of course, that was when it was free to enter! Interesting fact, I too hadn't been to the Pleasure Beach in almost 15 years by 2017, but I was unemployed at the time & managed to get a job there & was assigned to work on the Steeplechase. I also, every Tuesday & Thursday, before the park opened to the public, had to go & test the Revolution by myself along with riding the Steeplechase every morning!

Great video, only came accross your channel the other day.
It is a great experience revisiting places you havent been for years, both for nostalgia and trying out 'new' stuff.
Its a completely different type of coaster, but I remember going on The Dragon at LEGOLand 2 times in a row. My friend jokingly said lets go again, and there was nobody waiting to go on so the ride operators said, "Sure" and went with it. I loved it because its one of my favourite rides there, and its the 1st ever theme park rollercoaster I went on as a kid.
Another great video the pleasure beach is best park in uk but its shame lost great rides such as log flume and goldmine.

I am so happy that a theme park enthusiast, put them self forward to accompany Stephen. Darren you have covered some great parks, of even the lost but not forgotten. I love watching your videos', like Stephen's and learning the history of places, before and after. I find them quite haunting.
The climb to Revolution gets more tiring on each visit. I did not even notice the old cable car stations, now transformed into a bar. I was only here last month!
I love Blackpool. It has its fair share of haters but I'm sure more lovers!

I go a couple of times a year with daughter (6). I only live up the road. It’s great. Last time she was still too short still to get on anything too exciting. Although she was only 2cm too short for the avalanche so fingers crossed she can get on (I can drag her on) some of the bigger stuff next time 😅 Went on icon a few years ago. It’s great. All the bigger rides are.

It's a couple of years since I have been but they charge full price whether you ride or not. I'm 70😱 and wife's in a wheelchair so to take one of the grandkids is expensive. But it's great for the younger ones ....

Great video Darren, it's my local park too and like Stephen I've not been there for a similar length of time! Thankfully I'm going to remedy that and bought Platinum Passes for next year now that my daughter is tall enough to ride most things. Looking forward to getting back in there

What a great day you had, wish I was also there for the fun. The Blackpool Alice in Wonderland ride sure is similar to the one in Disneyland. I have to admit, I really enjoy Dark Rides, there're just weird is a certain way. If you don't get wet on a water ride it's not a good water ride..........
The grand national is the best tbf it's action packed on fun
The Pleasure Beach is quiet as most people are at Alton Towers or Thorpe Park which is open late this weekend so people get their moneys worth there more than here.

Looks like you had a fab day, and went on all your favorites and more, last time i went was when it was free to enter, then you bought tickets to the rides you wanted to go on, took my kids there.
But i believe you now pay to go on the grounds regardless of whether you go on the rides, so i.m over rides now, so wouldnt bother going on there now, but its very popular with kids and adults 😊

It should be quiet enough for you. But I would start with nick Streak and then the smaller rides. Leave the bigger ones until later in the day when the queues drop.

Adventure me i have some late 1980,s cine film of Blackpool pleasure beach when they had the ride called starship enterprise that was installed in 1985. It's a very short silent film but does show some of the rides back almost 40 years ago. Once I have it uploaded you are free to use it for any future ideas on Blackpool. There may be more footage but I don't have a projector just now. Just what was put on a dvd many years ago. Let me know ok.

Honestly how anyone can be frightened of Alice in Wonderland is beyond me haha a couple of weeks ago I went on Valhalla probably about eight times broke down once and it was so interesting to see it in the light
I went in summer 2021 and went on the Grand National and my god it was AWFUL. The bumpiness and shaking around was really bad. Im quite a stocky bloke and have quite a high pain threshold but I came off the GN feeling like I'd just done 5 rounds against Mike Tyson. Glad it's been improved, it needed it!

Darren, forgive me for saying this but I mean well:
These "That was awesome!" videos of which there's an increasing number, where we don't see what was awesome obviously rely heavily on the presenter's following and our loyalty.
I guess that you weren't allowed to film on practically all of them so innocently saying things like "we were right at the front too" could be seen as a tease.
Watched to the end though, so you're doing something right still!
