  • In this video I return to an old detecting spot with a underwater scooter to help remove sand and silt. I find some Civil War bullets, coins, buttons, and other odds and ends.

If you ever find zippo lighters you can send em back to the company and they actually repair it for free no matter what condition it's in and even if you didn't buy it. They even send back the broken parts and stuff.

i am blown away at how many screws/nails you find. People wonder why i always wear foot protection when i go anywhere in the water...this is a perfect example why i do that.

Its really sad that the rivers in America is so trashy. Where i live the rivers are pretty clean most places and you will not be able to find all this kind of junk there, like nails, car batterys and what not.. that would maby be common in the rivers runniong trough the cities' but not out in the middle of nowhere... you may find sinkers there.... do people in USA just throw their trash into rivers ? wauw.

Wow, can't believe how many nails and screws your pick picked up in just those small areas! I must remember not to walk around in small rivers and creeks without water shoes. I don't need a rusty nail or screw stabbed into my foot. So many of those square nails!

That looks like a Zippo lighter you found. If it is old it is valuable. They have a lifetime guarantee so if you mail it to them, they will get it in working condition again. It is at 10:03 in the video on the bottom middle.

Thanks to you Beau, I just identified a piece that I dug from an indian camp site on my property in Texas. It was the shoulder appellate. (I don't know if that is spelled correctly) I am in aww. I thought it might have been a piece off of furniture. Did union and rebel uniforms have these? Mine is identical to the two you pulled up, maybe a tad smaller, its kind of hard to scale.

Thanks Beau, your vids are great and you inspire me to get out there. I do a lot of home sites and ghost towns in my area etc. I do have 2 more intriguing pieces that I found in this same site I would like for you to see. Both made of brass. Do you have an e-mail or a public forum that you are on? I would love to show you pics and maybe help I.D. them. If not, that's cool, I know there are a lot of freaks on here you would want to limit contact as much as possible.lol Thanks.

Very nice finds Beau! Might I make a suggestion on combating the cold temperatures in the water, at least as far as your hands are concerned. Since we detect all year long here in Alaska, I found that wearing mechanics disposable work gloves work excellent in keeping my hands warm. I found them at a local auto parts store, by the brand name "Raven". they're black and heavy duty so they don't rip as easy as the hospital ones do. But what they do do is give me a thermal barrier against the weather. the colder it gets, I just add another layer and I'm good to go. I maintain the majority of finger sensitivity for feeling objects but my hands stay warm when I pull my digging gloves off Hope this helps mate. Again, great finds and looking forward to your next video! Doug

Hey man, i was thinking.. Meteorites are composed of iron.
If you ever stumble across rocks that are magnetized by your magnet, i would hold onto them as meteorites are highly sought after and usually have nice price tags for even small specimens
you can cut them open and every piece is different with psychedelic looking colors and minerals strewn throughout.
even if you dont sell em... hell you have something that dropped outta space
