@@Bythewaterbtw it looks like you steamed them in old bay? That's not the seasoning we use for our blue crabs. I know it's expensive but try these crabs with JO spice. A lot of people get it confused but we don't use old bay. JO spice is the real seasoning for crabs. Try them now trust me it's very similar in looks but it's 10000x better than old bay. Also don't use a knife lol🤦♂️ you turn your crab upside down for that little thin out at the very middle bottom and then you separate the meat and everything from the top shell and then you leave the crab legs in and then you wanna twist both sides and half so you have 2 halves full of meat and then you just dig with your finger from there all the shall just use your finger because when you use a knife you tend to miss a lot of meat. I've eaten crabs thousands of different times born and raised in Maryland and trust me this is the absolute best way you can eat them! Love the video man! Thanks for recognizing our tradition and our culture. a lot of people say that crabs are junk and they're disgusting and they shouldn't be eaten but they are truly one of the if not the best seafood that you'll ever eat
thats how i feel about a couple buddies of mine as well. we went to school together, we spent the night at each others houses, we went fishing together, we've known each other since we were barely teenagers, and they started a band together (GIDEON) and now the band tours all over the world and have a pretty big following. since im from Alabama i cant just stop by so im definitely going to have to order some crabs one day and give them a try. lol
Omg 2 hr wow. You are southern Maryland. I thought my 35 min drive after the key bridge fell was bad. Thanks for sharing . 15 min before the bridge fell. Darn boat.
They look HUGE. Mediums are $5 a piece at my grocery store in Chambersburg PA (seasoned and cooked properly and then cooled) Being an old man at 55, I remember all you can eat at $20. They weren’t big, but the fun was.
Blue crabs tend to be larger due to the colder waters of the Chesapeake Bay. That’s also why they’re sweeter: they store fat in their muscles to prepare for hibernation during the winter.
Have ordered from Luke before, good dude and love supporting him. I have lived in Maryland the majority of my life, and love crabbing and having crabs as often as possible. My very first job was at a place called Gena's crab house in Clinton. Its where I learned the proper way to eat them, and how to make amazing crab cakes!!!
Lollipoping the back fin is the only way to do it and do it right….that’s the technique that separates the boys from the men when it comes to picken crabs!! I’ve been picken blues for over 55 years and I’m here to tell you, these puppies beat a T-Bone all day long in my book!! Wash them down with fresh buttered cob corn & boiled new potatoes (dusted heavy with Old Bay of course), an ice cold beer and a Saturday night in the backyard with friends & family, plus music, watching the sun go down and you’ve got heaven on earth, not to mention the best meal you’ll ever get!!
Funny, on WTOP today (9-16-2024) in DC, they were talking about crabs and how they are ordered from Venezuela but the best crabs were sweet and from Maryland.
yea i live in southern maryland my neighbor which is a commercial crabber just gave me two dozen crabs always for free no crabs better then maryland blue crabs.
I live in reisterstown, baltimore county, live about 30 min away from glen burnie. Have a few places closer by to get crabs. I wouldn’t mind going down to Glen Burnie to get some crabs. Are they worth it?
Has anyone in here had soft crab? I was in Maryland a couple of months ago and heard about it being a local delicacy, but I wasn't brave enough to try it.
At first i thought what is he doing with that knife in that claw like that he’s gonna stab himself and the crab meat just separates so perfectly 😊he’s got this he is the crab master
Being born and raised in Maryland I love seeing these types of videos I'm nottrying to be mean but WTF is the picking method If you are with people from Maryland eating crabs I don't wanna see that knife out
This is the best life ever.... eating different types of crab and seafood everyday. This is my heaven.
And I appreciate you supporting me so I can do it

One of these days I'd like to visit Mr.Mcfadden's crab shack. I know I can order online but I believe fresh is best.

Luke is the best! It doesn’t get any fresher than that!!!!
Blue crabs are the absolute best crabs ever. I was born in MD raised in LA I'm a major seafood eater

Looked where Bodkin Point is. 1hr 25min south from me, but we are lucky to have so many great crab places in Delaware.
Shot out to Luke, u bought from one of the most humble crabbers out there. Good to see u advertising his channel.
Funny, on WTOP today (9-16-2024) in DC, they were talking about crabs and how they are ordered from Venezuela but the best crabs were sweet and from Maryland.
Believe it or not they actually interviewed me for that series. I believe my piece is coming out later this week!
Try some Wye river crabs they are really sweet! There is definitely a taste difference between the two! It’s better imo!
I love watching Luke .
Big crabs are the best 😊
yea i live in southern maryland my neighbor which is a commercial crabber just gave me two dozen crabs always for free no crabs better then maryland blue crabs.
You a fellow VA boy or MD?
I'm 99% sure MD because of the accent.
why would you be holding a dead crab before cooking it"? in MD dead crabs are tossed usually.
I had them shipped to North Carolina.they were great! and they were super heavy!
my mouth is wateringgg😄
Can you please make rice, mix it with the crab mustard, and some meat add soy sauce squeeze some lemon and a drizzle with sesame oil 😊 chefs, kiss!!
Ain’t nobody even coming close to topping a steamed MD blue crab. Hit it with that JO seasoning. Game over

I love all crab. More than beef.
You should try Sri Lankan mud crab

Most of the crabs come from the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Gulfport and Biloxi to be exact
we love scooping these up at night in the gulf- and if you have the time you can fill a cooler with them off the pier in PCB
Nice!
Wohooo love Luke!
I live in reisterstown, baltimore county, live about 30 min away from glen burnie. Have a few places closer by to get crabs.
I wouldn’t mind going down to Glen Burnie to get some crabs. Are they worth it?
Looks delicious
I like the jumbo crabs!
Any difference in the taste of blue crab from Maryland vs Louisiana?
It's in Glen Burnie west baltimore county
As a girl who is from Chesapeake/rappahanock area I love these crabs but I wish the ones I get are as big as these ones I hate picking at little crabs
Every single person in existence disagrees with me on how to pick a crab but my method is the best. -This guy
As a marylander I cringed so hard when you didn’t put any butter any vinegar or any old bay on those😮
Luke lost a lot of business when the bridge went down ! He ships to anywhere in the U.S. also . I follow his channel
If you buy from Luke, they are MD crabs
How much was it per pound?
Gotta say, blue crab is nice but I'll take fresh Dungeness over blue any day of the week.
funny bc when i lived in louisiana, we had imported crab from maryland. now i’m in the dmv area and the crabs are imported from louisiana 😭
Checkout Chesapeake Bounty
My favorite is dungeoness crab
It's hard to believe that blue crab are better than west coast dungeness crab. Going to have to try and compare.

You don't know what you're missing! Order them online. They ship all over the US. Promise you'll love them!
Blue crabs are now considered an invasive species
I suppose i should travel back to my home state some time for good seafood
That tomalley 🤤
They are huge!!
I was impressed
Me just seeing this for the first time and not looking at the description and thought those were his pets..
Avg size crab. Honestly, most would probably rather have a smaller crab. 🤷
Virginia crabs, they were born in Virginia waters and move up as they get older.
I tried calling them and Google site says they are never open ….and don’t answer the phone 🤔
How much did you pay for them
I'm a marylander, and litterally you'd know where to buy the crabs and IM NOT TELLING YOU
Day 1 of asking you to cook a land crab

Has anyone in here had soft crab? I was in Maryland a couple of months ago and heard about it being a local delicacy, but I wasn't brave enough to try it.
You should. When done right, softshells are awesome!
Funny how our state is known for crabs only. It's like nobody does anything other than catching and eating crab.
I bought Colossal jumbos from £€> in Maryland and they were Smaller than Large crabs in South Carolina 😡😡😡😡
Make crab bruschetta
Ima have to try em…send me one

At first i thought what is he doing with that knife in that claw like that he’s gonna stab himself and the crab meat just separates so perfectly 😊he’s got this he is the crab master
That’s right fellas THAT is what eight inches looks like read it and weep 😂
Being born and raised in Maryland I love seeing these types of videos
