Does the drier have a NEMA 14-50 plug? That is rated for 50A maximum at 240V, however for continuous operation, do NOT exceed 80% of 50Amps, i.e. 40 Amps, so you are limited to 40x240 = 9.6KW. Anyway, you should be able to set the current limit in the Tesla.
Thanks for this video. I was curious if you could say the timeline for when you got the credit. Did you have to do anything to get it? I did the surveys before getting the truck and Tesla also told me that I'd get the credit. May 11th (16 days ago) we picked up our truck. I was curious if you said it took a month or if you got it right away just to know if I should start following up on it. I do have a current gen HWC so I don't need it for PowerShare, but we have 2 Teslas so I was thinking it would. cover the cost of getting another HWC to make charging nicer here. Also ... when you got the credit was it just an email? I like your channel so far. Helpful stuff.
Hey, thanks! We picked up our CT on 2/10 and received the email with the credit code in it on 3/11 so just over a month later. Yes, the credit comes via email and it's just an alphanumeric code you type in during the online order process that applies the credit. It also removes any shipping charges so keep that in mind (you can spend a little more that way). The good news is I heard they recently changed the credit to $2500 so hopefully you get that. Am curious to hear so please post back here when you get your credit. Thanks again!
@@CybertruckFamily I got an email last week that it will be $2500 so that's nice and it said I'd hear more in coming weeks. It would be nice to get a Universal HWC to have a second charger here and the new ones seem to have a nice long cord now.
The Ford system does not work, and neither Ford, nor Sunrun will support it. Possibly if you have Sunrun install it, but then you have to deal with them putting screws through your livingroom wall. The equipment costs $6k, my install was $7k, and Ford charges you $500, "for the privilige".
@@tjd78z Not yet. If you go into the app, "My Products", "Add a Product" , I can see a "Powershare Setup" option but when I try to go thru the process it doesn't work. Other CT owners I know are having similar experience. Hopefully it shows up soon.
@@CybertruckFamily I spoke with Tesla Energy Support today, no update to owners that have solar until 3-4 months. It's a firmware situation. You have to have your VIN matched to your system and they won't/can't perform this currently to solar type systems.
JFC, 6 PowerWalls?!! Do you have like 8 swimming pools? lol. With PowerShare on the CT, you just added (when fully charged) like 9 more PowerWalls. I am pretty sure you'll survive the zombie apocalypse.
I think that a vehicle with seating for 5 that has a 6x4 foot bed capable of carrying a 4x8 sheet of plywood, with 11000 lbs towing capacity, 2500 lb payload capacity, an ultra-hard stainless steel exterior and shatter resistant glass certainly qualifies as a "truck", regardless of how that makes you feel.
@@amerb313 Having the HWC + Tesla Gateway that he has for PowerWalls is enough for PowerShare with a CT. Just waiting on a software update to get PowerShare.. at least I am as far as I can tell :)

@@CybertruckFamilywow, I’m confused. I bought a Cyberbeast 3 weeks ago and understood that additional hardware would be shipped. I designated QMerit to install for 3,100 and have seen nothing. Nor has the QMerit installer. Did you ever receive additional gear?
Be careful using the dryer plug, mine melted after couple years. Just too much heat generated from the high current long charging.
Are you able to PowerShare already? Give us a call update! 😊
Nothing yet. Will post a new video as soon as I get something.
If you bought the beast the installation credit is $4000, along with 2500 credit towards accessories
got to be careful with using the dryer outlet for ev charging
ive seen them melt because of overheating
Good to know! Yet another reason I'm glad we got a Wall Connector 👍

If you go that route get a quality hubbell plug

😂 Only 4 Powerwalls but we do have 3 AC units and quite a bit of power outages in our area so we wanted a healthy backup.
Calling a battery powered SUV a truck just makes my skin crawl for some reason????
