One of the things I love the most about The Beach Boys is how every irrelevant song is perfectly documented like that video of Mike and Al writing "Kona Coast" 🙂
man it really is a bunch of people involved, the only thing worse than the song is the videoclip, but holy shit! it looks like they are filming a movie!!!
Carl was only 45 years old in this footage yet he looks like an old man. I am so glad I gave up cigarettes years ago. Also, this was a blast to watch and I've had that "Two Rooms" cassette for over two decades now. Thanks for making my day brighter.
Wow! This is really fascinating!! I remember the Two Rooms video and CD well… yet I always wondered what inspired The Beach Boys contribution!! I now have closure!!😊 I honestly never knew John Stamos was playing a funny Argentinian high schooler!! 😮Bizarre but fun!!
I'm a true Beach Boys diehard. My earliest childhood memory is news reports of Dennis' death. I have all the bootlegs. I know all the minutiae. I win quizzes about them. I've seen nearly all the circulating footage. I do their weird stuff in my stage act. I... *spits jasmine tea out*... 11m25s CARL WILSON WAS LEFT HANDED???? THIS IS TOTALLY BRAND NEW INFORMATION!!! HOLY HECK!!! SERIOUSLY WHAT THE HELL???!!! HOW HAS THIS NEVER EVER COME UP??!!
i’m in a similar situation!! i think it just isn’t noticeable because he played guitar right-handed. he’s not a conspicuous leftie like paul mccartney or his brother dennis, both of whom you could tell were left-handed because their instruments are visibly set up differently during performances
I never could imagine how people could easily interact with such a legends as the Beach Boys, i used to think they made this videos in a private set or smth
Poor Carl was prematurely gray in this video. You can still see his light brown hair. When he grew it longer, you could see he was dying both his head and his beard.
i see some of my beach boys brethren speaking in derogatory ill will towards the glorious Al Jardine long hair!? this long hair is easily one of the best most redeeming parts of the "so bad its still bad but good to me because i must be a freak" era of beach boys music (no really, i actually love this stuff, lol) perhaps a whack or two of the Jardine pony tail is needed to knock some sense into the minds of non believers.
Looks like everyone had a ton of fun putting this together! It must have been humid from the looks of it; wearing a suit and tie for some of this filming must have been tough! Wonder what Elton John thinks of this?😊❤
The guy in the White T-shirt looks like someone I've seen in Blue Oyster Cult music videos. They made the Burning For You video in 1981 and this was made in 1992. Could this be the same guy 11 years older?

Carl had recently given up smokes @ that time
@@kookadams85I've heard something similar to this. Do we know what year he quit and does Carl himself say or was it someone else?
@@madcap_9539 late 80s I think
Alan with long hair scares me a lot
Mike's outfit too
The only thing in this video that won't give me nightmares is Carl

Not Al's best look...but he had nice hair like son Matt.
The Crocodile Rock music video is when Al became Alan

What a great find! It's nice to see them having fun, outside their usual thing. Plus, Carl signing autographs is ❤❤
Al's best thumbnail image
stone cold classic
The Boys' true magnum opus, that is, if we're not counting Summer in Paradise. It doesn't get any better than this
Thank you Elora😊

He was 45 here, pretty normal to have some white hair
Bruce♥️

I'm so glad Al didn't keep the long hair, and that's coming from a guy with long hair lol
Awesome!

Was John Stamos and Brian Wilson in this video?
Where's the 1 hour RAFL BTS? I know you have it Anne.

this version by The Beach Boys was actually from 1991, not 1992!

I especially like that he'd evidently done it before (by "accident", of course) because he immediately says "scuse me again, jeez".
😆
Taste the Cheerios??? Yikes!!
The director is kinda bossy eh, I guess you gotta be.
