The way Gary Charles just gets up after that challenge is pure class. Nowadays the player would be rolling around like a madman. As for the first challenge by Gazza, that should have been a straight red with a five game ban. To me, this was the last true FA cup final before it all started going down hill.

Gascoigne admits he was so pumped up for the match. Everyone talks about the tackle on Gary Charles that led to the injury. People forget the first appalling tackle in the 2nd minute when Gascoigne stuck his studs into Garry Parkers chest. Nowadays he would have received a straight red for that tackle and quite rightly.

Cloughie for all his achievements, he was never the same after Peter Taylor left his side. Together they achieved amazing results. Winning a league title for Derby county is nothing to sneeze at. During that time there were bigger clubs in England. If they had stayed together I think forest would have had double the amount of trophies. I still love my spurs but lots of respect to Clough.

The match that ended the short shorts fashion. This was first time 'long' baggy shorts had been worn in a top level football match in the UK since the early 1950s: Spurs had a new kit supplier (Umbro) for the following season and decided to preview the new baggy 91/92 kit for the 90/91 FA cup final. You can really notice the contrast with Forest's tight shorts which look suddenly old fashioned. By the 92/93 season pretty much everyone had moved to baggy shorts.

Gazza was my hero and he bloomed in the semi semi final and destroyed Arsenal even if only half fit after his hernia op. The final was weird. Gazza was clearly not well mentally. The turmoil of Spurs being bankrupt. But for me what really pissed me off was us changing our kit for the final. I hated the final kit. Our glorious Hummel kit (white top blue shorts white socks) was imo our greatest kit and they turned out in that horrible Umbro shit. Gazza could have been one of the greatest, lost half a yard of pace and and half his upper body strength. But then he was going to Lazio anyway. Too much pressure for a young guy with mental health issues. Thanks for getting us to the final and Italia '90 you beautiful flawed genius. 💘

Terrible cheating again from Notts Forest when Pearce scored the free kick at 1.30. Watch on the replay how the Forest player at the end of the wall pushes the Spurs defender out of the way so there is a clear path for the shot. Forest used the trick on numerous occasions, especially against Cov in the league cup semi the previous year and they always got away with it!

+Graham Collinson I'd rather be in the premier league challenging at the top end than clinging on to trophies my team won 30 years ago.
