When ESTP are disciplined, they are intellectual planners, creative writers, technologocal visionaries, politically savy, and socially inuitive. ♡♡♡

ESTPs are some of the most diverse types I've interacted with, and this interview is illustrative of that diversity. Great vid, everyone, really helpful for those of interested in this content.

I literally just watched your panel on "ESFP vs. ESTP" and this video came up in perfect timing. My father and I watched both panels and we both concluded he's an ESTP!
My Dad thrives in variety and opportunities in everything he does. He can tell when a person is being genuine and he doesn't like to explain things that he has already thoroughly analyzed. He's always the first person to react in a dangerous situation. He can tell when a sports player or athlete is going to do well or not just by observing their game.
My Dad is also very comfortable with his body and is dexterous in doing his favourite things like gardening, interior decorating, cooking and stain-glass creating. My Dad worked in the medical field, so he's very aware if something is wrong or off in his body or others. He gave me "tough love" anecdotes when I would ignore his medical advice lol. He's one healthy 75 year old!
He thrives in knowing the data in cars, homes and gadgets before he buys or invests anything. He researches random things everyday on RUclips. He can also be a show-off with the things he has and creates. He enjoys having expensive things in his home or expensive looking things he's created or invested in.
    A wonderful panel!

Another trait that is shared by 99% of ESTPs is they have a naughty sense of humor.

I took every chances to learn about ESTP, since my mother has strong ESTP traits. By growing up under her wings, gave me anxiety as an Ni Dom. I found Jane's personality and the ways that she views herself, so much like my mom. I guess my mom is about 10 years or less older then her. From what I heard Jane believes and describing herself, and what she believes on her own strengths. I think I know why my mom could drives my crazy and I made her nuts at the same time. But she would never explain to me the reason behind of her actions and how she sees herself. Still, I don't know the true meaning behind of their actions. But at least, I might understand a slightly little more.
For Christian and Elaine. You remind me of friends that I like to hangout with. Who also finished the MBTI test and came up with the result as ESTP. I think I should share this video with them and see how they think about it. Thank you Joyce and everyone!

This ESTP chat had such a different vibe compared to some of the previous ESTP chats I"ve seen on your channel, Joyce. The collective energy was so tamped down.

    • @JoyceMeng22
      @JoyceMeng22  Год назад +4

That was partly my fault, because I made everyone mute when they weren't talking! So that added to the tamped down energy.

What I (also ESTP preferences) have noticed with sequencing/plans, is that FOR ME it is also illogical to plan everything, as I know I’ll muck it up by getting sidetracked and improvising. So why put myself in that situation? Great panel, Joyce

I've found that having some type of vision you're working toward works better than having a detailed plan.
It's allows me to pull in information that fits my goal as things come up.
If I didn't allow myself to be flexible I would have missed so many awesome opportunities.
Also, sometimes when you're working toward something you realize that it's actually the wrong thing haha

I found the goal setting discussion very interesting particularly in regards to my own attempts to understand Ni and Ne and how they relate to visualising future paths, my current concept is of a near infinite flow chart web of ever expanding possibility (visualised as many dot with the lines of travel between them) which Ne tends to find it easy to see but doesn't really have a reason to pick any particular direction and Ni doesn't see any much of the map but picks a dot and lights up the lines of the paths of possibilities to get to it. I now wonder further refined the position of Ni affects how vague or certain the person sees these paths with the inferior Ni in the ESTP only seeing that these selections of possibility in front of me right now lead in the general direction of my goal, as opposed to the higher Ni going to these are a few paths all the way to my goal and this one seems to be the most certain.
I would be interested on others thought on this and particularly if it is total crap, there is of course a possibility that I am over extrapolating from my own personal difficulty with finding a reason to pick any particular long term goal and putting that on other people sharing the function stack that I may have of INTP.
As a side note it was interesting how familiar the bullshit detector discussion was right up until the visceral bodily reaction and following talk of sense of body since I almost forget my body exists, feeling more that I am my mind being carried around by my body but my body isn't me.

My new boss is an estp. Because i know about the cognitive functions and workings of an estp and my own (infj) i can handle being with her. But she draines me out. Jumping into things without having a good plan and leaving projects when its not fun anymore. We are total opposites. I think she finds me irritating but somewhat intriguing. I can feel her annoyance about me not responding to her like most others do. She is still trying to figure me out but I suspect she will loose interest soon. She is the positive energy in a frustrated office culture and I understand why she is liked by almost everyone. If only I was not her secretary…

32:30 Christian has a very good point here! Where ENTP and ESTP meet their common ground and cog functions are optional in usage, but preferable 4 each type. As ENTP I'm very close to what ESTPs talk about here. But also what Jane said, being that BS detector very relates also to ENTPs.
But what comes different to me as an ENTP, I first see the possibilities and then the opportunities. First I recognize the patterns and then I seek 4 validation.

The theory my friend and I have right now is that I'm an ISTJ. Still, this reminds me of a conversation we had last night. Having multiple disabilities makes it harder to relate to certain parts of certain types.

Interesting, Jane seems very ExFJ ish to me. Specifically, she seems dominant in an extraverted judging leading way, as opposed to an extraverted perceiving function dominant way. I don't know if this is because she is older than everyone else.... As an ESTP, I am actually laid back in group settings and prefer to assess the environment. I will say things from time to time, but will say the 'wrong' thing if I speak for too long lol.

Happy you liked watching it! Yes, a lot of xxTP types don't relate to using value judgments. I have had them point out how "hate" and other value-laden words don't sound like statements they would say.
