My wife and I lost a home and evey single thing inside because of black mold. We were constantly sick with respiratory infections that led to pneumonia on a few occasions for my son and myself. we discovered the mold in the kitchen when we were starting to remodel it. we had already remodeled most of the house when we found the mold. It was so extensive in the kitchen, throughout the attic in crawl spaces it couldn't be cleaned. just trying to get rid of it the cleaning bill alone would have been$59,000, and they said they wouldn't be able to get all of it and it, would just come back. The board of health came in and did testing and told us, you have to get out immediately. it was heartbreaking after putting everything we had into that home for 12 years to just closed the door one day with every possession we owned in it and walk away. State farm told us to go F**k ourselves they weren't responsible for any of it. We lost everything. My heart breaks for these people and I hope that they make out better than we did.
I’m a witness to the distress Lara and Hillary are going through over this issue. It’s a shame that the Regulatory authorities could not hold this builder to account, and allow the innocent public to suffer in the hands of corporate America. Justice NOW!
This is a disgrace. Many more homeowners will be suffering in silence not willing to fight the bullies. But guess what, David slew Goliath and this Homebuilders must be held accountable
We have tri pointe homes in my section of the neighborhood. I have watched them go from foundation to completion in under 3 months. In the 6 houses near mine, I have watched construction crews build the frame, attach siding, do roofing, and put up drywall in the rain without allowing any amount of time to dry. In addition, I have watched it rain into homes already drywalled because these crews leave the windows and doors wide open for water to enter the home. In the house behind mine (by the way, my home is not a tri pointe), I watched the painters apply paint the day after a rainstorm where the windows were left open. Same for flooring crews putting carpet down on wet floorboards. Just watching their construction practices, I would not recommend this builder to anyone due to mold risk. And good luck finding a sales person at their model home. It took me over 2 months just to get several of my fence boards replaced due to damage caused by their work crews.
Come on Wayne. This report did not link. The homebuilder is being a fault for the mold. You owe the people a better job than this. Sensationalism is not journalism.
They need to get a hold of the plans for the home. Have them reviewed by an architect. Then confirm the construction meets the plan requirements. If the builder plans were correct, the subs are at fault.

The mold is growing in moist AC vents that are not sealed. Then mold blow out AC vents in ceiling
