Both Bjp and Congress give freebies. Bjp does it in slightly better optimised manner as compared to congress which just over promises and smokes out the state budget completely. Yeshwant Deshmukh while I respect him for his insights I do believe that he is repeating the Lok Sabha mistake of looking at results too simple way. It is much more complicated. The female vote was a big force, but the religion fault lines did not become a head wind. But the caste and religion positioning of the MVA became a headwind for them.
This has been happening in West Bengal from quite sometime now. I am happy that the financial benefits are no longer looked upon as freebies. I hope this attitude remains when Kejriwal provides social and financial benefits to the marginalised.
