Adrien being justifiably mad enough to break up with Marinette due to her hiding Hawkmoth's identity is just too good of an idea for Astruc think of. Most likely they break up over some small thing. Or if he does, I can't see it being better than the "Cat Noir being mad at Ladybug arc" which was terribly executed. We can dream, I guess. I do hope they at least try and develops Adrien's character and at the very very least, he finds out about his dad in season 6. Whether or not they break up because of it is a whole other thing but at least give him that fair bit of knowledge.

You're so right that writers seem to HATE writing stable couples. Conflict drives stories, but almost no writer seems to know how to have a happy couple deal with conflicts in their life and relationship while staying together (ya know, like actual real couples do), so they immediately jump to break ups and rehashing will-they won't-they dynamics again. So many actually good romance plot lines have gotten wrecked by writers doing this and making people behave out of character to accomplish it. That said, there is a way to do this plot well and get some really good character development. Marinette and Adrien are both young and growing and keep a lot of secrets, so a breakup and reunification arc makes sense for them. It could be great! But we all know ML has had some great story setups that they've completely bungled so we'll have to see lol
They should observe Steven universe Garnet would really show them how a healthy relationship should be even though Ruby and Sapphire were toxic unseperated they became a really strong fusion throughout the show
Honestly I feel like it’s going to happen, Because writers don’t know how to make a story interesting without drama or write a relationship. They already have the seeds marinate lies to Adrian about his father. Imagine looking up to your father for stopping a villain that almost killed everyone multiple times. Then you find out he was that villain, And he was doing it to brink back your dead mother.

The reveal in the movie wad absolutely perfect! The way that Adrien was tearing up once Marinette revealed herself really got me, and gosh let's not forget about the animation, the music?? The whole scene was beautiful 😭
I'm still not over Marinette's randomly trusting an evil person with the fate of the world and then lying for him on top of it. The only explanation that makes any sense to me is that she was hypnotized and did these things against her will. During the final fights between Gabe and Marinette, there was definitely some time travel going on whether it was second chance (snake miraculous) or the rabbit miraculous

Yes, marinette is or atleast was a creep/stalker and the flipping timeline cant even handle them finding out their identies, and not to mention shes not gonna tell Adrien that his dad was hawkmoth, and instead lie to him about being a good person even when Adrien was isolated in a white room.
The best way for a character break up for these two imao would be, for Adrien to eavesdrop on Mari and Alya’s conversation about the past timeline and him feeling like he has been backstabbed! Betrayed he confronts Plagg saying I thought you were my friend?! Plagg then folds and explains how he had wanted to tell him for weeks, but unfortunately, couldn’t thanks to Mari and Su Hun putting a bubble spell on him… worried for Chat Blanc. Adrien feeling betrayed by this, isolates himself from everyone until he finally snaps and breaks up with Mari in front of their classmates… In a flashback, we see Adrien cataclysm the statue of his father out of frustration not caring about the city property damage fee. We cut back to him in his room feeling more alone than ever. Plagg feeling bad tries to comfort his kid, but Adrien brushes him off swearing, “never trust anyone again, except me.” Plagg brings up his family, but Adrien being too far gone stares out the window in silence. How is that for a mid-season finale?😉

I do think they are endgame, but realistically Adrian and Marinette are bound to have a break up at some point, Marinette is keeping so many secrets from Adrian when he inevitably finds out she's been lying to him he's bound to be annoyed, mad, hurt, and he's bound to want some space from her
I think this how it’s gonna happen: Cat Noir asks Ladybug about Monarchs true identity as he wasn’t there and deserves to know cause their “partners”. So she tells him he is very shocked and angry that she lied to all of Paris and asks her why. Ladybug tells him Gabriel’s dying wish and he kinda understands. Adrien becomes moody and distant even to Marinette. Cat Noir opening her eyes to the fact that even though she was trying to do the right thing lying in this situation was way wrong she goes to Adrien’s house to bream the sad news and tells him. And maybe or maybe not this could tie into a reveal or something who knows
I actually like that, and the idea that it could tie into the reveal because this subject is VERY important to the plot. But I think felix should be the one to tell him, bc their cousins and it will make their bond closer, and help adrien understand why he did what he did, THEN he can go confront ladybug and become distant and all those things. Also I just really want a better relationship between felix and adrien , i think theres is super interesting if the writers would expand on it, bc their cousins (kinda like brothers to eachother in a way)
I don't think this will happen, but it would be SUCH a gag if LILA was the one to reveal that news to Cat Noir. Like, maybe she wants to break up the partnership between LB & CN 1, because she knows they're stronger together, and 2, she wants LB alone and isolated. So, she reveals to Cat Noir that Gabriel Agreste was Monarch and he rewrote the world with a wish, and that LB knows that and still shows public support for him. Cat Noir would then go confront Ladybug and ask why she didn't tell him, and how she found out, LB would reveal that she didn't actually discover Monarch's identity, Felix discovered it and then told her. Cat Noir would ask what else she knows, but she wouldn't tell him (maybe because she feels it's not her secret to tell, maybe for some other stupid Marinette reason). Adrien would then go talk to Felix, and idk how it'd go from there. Felix doesn't want Adrien to ever find out he's a sentibeing, and Felix is so complex that idk if he would just tell Adrien or talk in riddles lol. I just think that would be a more dramatic and interesting way for Adrien to find out the truth and advance the plot at the same time.
Adrian needs to see the actual truth about his father who is the villain this whole time and confront Marinette for lying and covering his crimes throughout 5 seasons. I hope Felix tells him the truth since he already know that his uncle is Hawkmoth unlike the heroes when Adrian should have suspected that his father is Hawkmoth because he has the book of the miraculous. I hope Marinette suffer the consequences for lying and covering someone's crimes which is corruption.

I think the worst part about Marinette being the main character and a stalker and the fact that the show never portrays her stalking as a bad thing is that kids watch this show kids that don't know any better. I've talked to more than 3 people online who watched this show as a kid thought this behavior was okay and copied it in real life it's awful.
I think ladybug will tell cat noir that Gabe was monarch and Adrien gets furious that lady bug lied to him. Then some kind of drama in their relationship after that.
A lot of the community is actually predicting the opposite. They think that this is the season that we're going to get a true, honest to goodness reveal. Is it possible that they break up along the way? Absolutely, but it's likely that it won't stick. We worked WAY too long to get to this point and Luka is gonna make sure that what happened to him and Marinette won't happen in her relationship with Adrien/Chat Noir.
I honestly kinda hope this happens. Yes, Adrien has the right to know and to be mad, and Marinette should be held accountable. That said, we’ve waited far too long for this to have come to fruition. I think it would just be frustrating at this point for everything to just reset, you know?
First, it WOULDN'T be artificial drama. For meta AND narrative reasons, Adrian has legitimate reasons to break up with Marinette. Second, they SHOULD be broken up for an extended period of time; a few episodes/a movie at minimum, half of a season at maximum. Having it be for is the TERRIBLE option. That's not long enough to equate to 5 seasons, 8 years, of build up to a relationship on a foundation of lies, deception, and misdirection.
The thing is, I think they have to break up, or at least have some sort of quake in their relationship. The season 5 finale was so dumb in that Adrien never found out, and Marinette even lied to him. When he finds that out (which he should, or else that would be even more writing stupidity), not breaking up with Marinette would be kind of ridiculous with how much she’s violated his trust.

I'm pretty sure that it's eventually gonna be revealed that Ladybug knew Gabriel was Monarch, which could lead to not only all of Paris turning on Ladybug but the Miraculous Team as well, which could lead to all members getting akumatized, including Cat Noir, leading to the return of Cat Blanc.
if they ever go that route of breaking them up, this is definitely the way to make it believable. but i doubt it very much that the writers would have the balls to address the wrong stuff going on in the s5 finale and let marinette actually be acknowledged as being in the wrong. i do think that if they do that, this would definitely be plausible of adrien to be mad and disappointed of her and actually break up with her.
i love how i said that, but they actually managed to handle this in the london special. yay! i loved seeing her doubt her decision, being distressed by keeping the truth from everyone. i'm really REALLY looking foward to see this decision come back to bite her in the ass, i want adrien to find out, i want to see the angst built up from this... and it would be perfect drama if they broke up because of this
I just think Astruc is a one-trick show pony and doesn't know how to navigate writing the two in a relationship for multiple seasons. He'll go back to the methods he's used to. If he keeps them in a relationship for more than 2 more seasons, I'll be super surprised

Oh absolutely. As soon as Golden Boy finds out Mars Bars lied about his dad there will be drama. They will get back together inevitably because we've spent too long with them and they're not going to throw away all of that. After some conversations and making up the relationship will persist. Unlike the rest of the comment section apparently I do like Marinette but the writers decisions are genuinely baffling sometimes and the season 5 ending was so out of character it's not even funny

8 years. 8 YEARS of making me root then actually realizing how unhealthy these ships are. 8 years down the drain where the most intresting thing that could happen in this show, would be it's core reason why it even exisisted, to desintegrate. Who wanna bet that that plot will happen but not in a deserving way? 1: Adrien will forgive and be with her again sooner or later after finding out the truth because Ladybug gets some plot amour happen to cover her ass. 2: He doesn't care because she is "apologetic" and that is just the past or maybe simps too much to break up with her.
Honestly, I don't really care about what happens between Adrien and Marinette after (and if) Adrien finds out the truth. Im more interested to see how 1, Marinette's relationship with Felix changes over the course of season 6, and 2, how Adrien's relationship with Felix changes after and if he finds out. Now that Marinette knows everything Felix knows (especially why he did what he did) and she knows how smart Felix is (as far as Marinette knows, he was the only one to figure out Monarch's identity) she might start turning to him more than Chat Noir. I mean, it would be easier for her to do that because she knows that Felix knows who she is, and she knows that he knows who Gabriel was, plus Felix knows about the sentibeing thing, so she doesn't have to lie to him. And she might turn to him for assistance in figuring out who the new butterfly holder is, since Felix is the one who figured it out last time. Their newfound closeness might possibly upset Adrien AND Chat Noir for different reasons. Adrien, because his girlfriend is opening up to his cousin more than she is him, and Chat Noir because Ladybug is turning to Argos for things more than she is him. The same goes for Kagami. Marinette might talk to Kagami more because of it as well. If Adrien finds out, I'm sure a lot of Felix's actions would start to make more sense to him, and Adrien is smart enough to work out why Felix didn't tell him (given the whole 'red moon' incident). Adrien would probably still be mad at Felix for keeping everything from him, but idk if he'd be more or less mad at him than he'd be at Marinette. I don't think the writers will pay off any of these dynamics that I just pointed out, and if they do it won't be in a good way, but I do want to know what other people think about it.
One big problem with this relationship...is that it's not really a relationship, they don't even have the chemistry to be even friends. Their kiss at the end of season five felt empty and fake, just like Ladybug's victory which was on the basis of a lie. (Like you said yourself, "Kung Food" feels weird to see Mari and Adrien so friendly there, but that's one of the oddities of the first season.) Marinette just loves the idealized version of Adrien, like a Justin Bieber fangirl; and let's be honest, she would suffer a nervous breakdown or denial if she found out he was Chat Noir...followed by guilt over the lousy way she treated him. And because of the "Chat Blanc" trauma, Marinette will never be close/confident or completely trust her Chat Noir. Adrien has to pretend to be that "perfect self" to the public and his friends, while Chat Noir is his true self but no one likes him. The boy is a ticking time bomb that Lila will enjoy blowing up to make Marinette suffer. Let's face it, whatever happens in the future...it's going to suck and it's going to be poorly written. Chat Noir will likely be seen as the bad guy for getting mad at Mari for lying to him, become villainous while she starts a relationship with Zoe Lee because that's what "female empowerment" writing is like.

I just want Adrien to find out at least "something". I mean this guy was supposed to be the second lead, and here he is, most out of the loop. The only time he actually got involved in some information was when he threw a tantrum(or if it even was that, I don't remember) and Wang Fu finally had the brain to think and realise that he was also part of the team, and he made contact with him. For most of the story, he is just there(don't need to mention him finding out Nino's identity, I remember that). Other characters get big scenes like, Alya finding out ladybug identity, Luka finding out both their identities, and then there is Adrien. I would even say, he is probably the only character with the least info right now(if you don't consider characters like Kim, who are just there to be dumb) for a supposed main character.
Even if it does happen it probably won’t be for long. For whatever reason the writers main focus was Adrienette and I don’t really see them doing it (considering how long it took the writers to get these two obsessed idiots together). If it was a permanent thing then that would be 5 seasons worth of bs (on top of the already bs the show has pulled already with Marinette and Adrien already). I still don’t ship Adrienette but I don’t really see the writers doing this because it’s what the show is really about and it was done poorly.
As much as they should break up, we cannot trust Astruct to write it in a way that won't cause a backlash. I could only imagine it going one of two ways. 1) They break up because Adrien find out the truth about Gabe and Ladybug keeping it a secret, which through some backwards logic will be resolved by him apologizing to Ladybug for him being wrong about being upset. 2) They break up because Ladybug somehow finds out Adrien is Chat Noir (probably by stalking him once again), and this breaks the 'we cannot know each other's identity' rule. And this will be resolved by Chat apologizing to Ladybug for causing her problems.

I can see a break up happening, and it is easily justifiable in Adrian's case given Marinette/Ladybug gaslights him. However, I won't lie by saying I wish they just broke up for good, I don't care for the romance aspect of the series and care more for the story & lore in the series, and I do feel like the romance aspect, namely the Adrienette stuff has ruined the show a lot for me, espicially the fans. After the show bible leaks and seeing Adrienette fans wanting the kiss scene to be leaked just has me disgusted with the ship, and while I did like it initially, I have grown to outright despise it.

I hope they do. They won’t, at least not permanently (it’s one of the shows biggest appeals). I was rooting for this ship at first, but then I saw Copycat; I jumped ship pretty fast. This relationship as is now, should NOT work, at least not without a lot of work. Marinette never faces the consequences of constantly violating Adriens’ boundaries. At least in ways that stick. The show goes out of its way to justify it. If only Adrien was treated like an actual character and not a plot device. Realism was never this shows strong point though, so…

Marinette hiding the truth about Gabriel is the PERFECT way to add some real conflict between them. But you know they're just going to make Adrien be presented as in the wrong for being justifiably upset, then have him apologize to her. Because Thomas hates Adrien getting any actual depth or development.
I fully expect the series to end with Adrien and Marinette in a relationship with another person. Not because Marinette lied to Adrien or for any sensible reason like that-but because it would subvert expectations or some other stupid meta reason

Yeah, as soon as I heard there were going to be three more seasons, I knew they had to be broken up at some point to keep viewers hoping for the eventual happy ending. But then the way season 5 ended, Adrien knows nothing and Marinette knows everything which is such an awful power dynamic and just hangs over Adrien's head- so much painful knowledge that had already been kept from him by his mom and dad and Natalie- and now, Marinette. That betrayal will lump them together in Adrien's mind even though time will help him separate them more appropriately. I'm not sure what Marinette *should* have done with Gabriel's wish, but...the truth needs to come out and it's going to be ugly. Especially if Lila is the one who tells Adrien...
As someone who plastered Adrienette media when younger, I say... Hallelujah! Fanfiction and movie Adrienne is the only version I will consume. The show's version is too toxic
Either these writers just prefer to write force drama, to milk this series for as long as they can. Or they have NO idea how to write a series about a couple. It FEELS like the former. But something inside of me is telling me, especially base on their writing for the past 5 seasons, that it's the latter.
Honestly, I really really hate writing this but. They don't have the balls to get rid of the main draw of the show which is the unknown identities. It will not be until the very last episode that the identities will be revealed.
I knew from the beginning that this ship would NEVER work out unless Marinette actually got what she deserved and Adrien being rightfully mad at her so that way she could regret her actions and actually become a better person.
Short of a time rewrite in the London special, Adrien and Marinette will get closer this season, but not in a cringe way we saw last season. But it's possible she could also get cringe again if she sees Adrien without his rings/amok on. You know, worried he could get erased from existence and all.
The sinister music at the end of the season between Marinette & Adrian cemented the fact theyre going to break up to me. I'm hoping for an Adrian villian arc. Lila tells him the truth, she's got all the documents from Nathalie and the laptop. He spirals finds out that Marinette lied about his abusive dad, breaks up. Lila uses the sentimonster ring to control him.

Compare how many times Marinette has lied compared to Lila.la lies even when she doesn't need to. one of them did it accidently or to protect someone, even when telling the truth was better. and the other does it for fun greed and hatred. and in some cases, she even apologizes if it happens to cause harm. But Lila does none of those. Even if she breaks it up, it won't be because she's a hero but because of her own interest. She's not any better. she's even worse. And as iffy as Marinette can be, I'm not going to be biased. because most of us can still see how genuine and nice she is. not much of a villain in that regard, despite how shit her character is sometimes. don't even get me started on how Lila tantrums easily, whereas Marinette has a reason to complain. and when she does, it isn't cringe inducing as stubborn Lila. Marinette isn't as harmfully stubborn. and she doesn't hold onto grudges or tantrums that cause more harm just because nothing is working. and she doesn't go out of her way to cause problems just because she's jealous or mad. she takes responsibility for her actions. Lila doesn't have much to her aside from being 'Bad'(cringe) and annoying to a t. even when she was initially introduced, she still seemed fake with most of her genuineness. and we only found out later on that's she was actually bad. and when we find out the true reason why, that still doesn't excuse how much suffering she caused, on screen and anywhere else she traveled to. she's just as a big villain as Gabriel. so how exactly is Marinette such a villain? Lila ignores logic and causes harm, even when looking innocent. And when Marinette does she realizes and even when she initially ignores something obvious(which can sometimes happen) which leads to harm, it still makes somewhat sense. Lila is just confusing and chaotic. so she's a true villain. Your opinions matter and so do mine. Stop being so insistent. it isn't a hundred percent true in Marinette being a liar or villain anyway. He'll be mad at Ladybug and then angry at Marinette for supporting the idea of lying to Paris about Gabriel being a hero.
I think it would be fantastic if this lead to a Marinette akumitization. Once Hawkmoth gets control of her she lets it slip that Gabe was Hawkmoth and it rattles Adrien so much that it causes him to break up with Marinette for all the reasons you listed
If Adrien and Mari don't broke up because he finally discover who is father was, i will be so dissapointed! They will only because none of both parts is honest to each other. Every relationships must be found on the ground that everyone involved, whether romantic, platonic, familiar or whatever, trust each other. Once you lie, or omit the truth, that trust would shatter like a broken mirror, and even if you manage to piece it together, it won’t have the same reflection ever again.

That's been my thoughts on this ship as well. They will eventually end up together again, but they have some growth and learning to do. Either that or will decide to just be friends and get together again later. It's all going to come crashing down WHEN, not IF Adrien finds out the truth. He simply has to find out everything that has been a secret.
There's something that the writers need to know by now: MARINETTE/LADYBUG NEEDS TO FACE CONSEQUENCES FOR HER ACTION. I feel like the writers made too many excuse for her behavior by now, or she's just straight up being a Mary Sue who gets away with everything. But hey, Thomas doesn't want his "daughter" to be upset or anything bad happen to her, the break-up will be very unlikely. What is there to hope for, this show has too many plot holes and flaws and I doubt Season 6 is gonna fix all of that.
I think what they should do is kind of similar to what you said, where you have this calm settle where Lila doesn't stop being a villain straight away and everything seems good for the first like one or two episodes and that's where we see all this cute stuff with Marinette and Adrian and you know their relationship seems good and Marinette decides you know what there is no more villain we need to defeat we can be honest now and so she says Adrian there's something I need to tell you I am ladybug I know this is a lot taken, but I need you to not share this with anyone, I still think it's a good idea for her to tell Adrian not to tell cat Noir or like say it would be really bad if cat Noir found out because he really likes ladybug and I'm ladybug and I really like you or something like that where it's like she's trying to protect him and then it can be something like please don't tell anyone I don't want cat Noir to find out who I am. And then you can have her go on a mission with cat Noir to defeat someone who is like stealing or you know something that isn't to do with accommodation or at least they don't think it is until the reveal of Lila a few episodes later so it's like they go on this mission and during that time that she's with cat noir she then tells cat Noir about the stuff with Adrian and Gabe and Gabe being monarch and all of that and she tells it to cat noir who she doesn't know is Adrian and then obviously Adrian freaks out and little bit and she asks if everything is okay and he says yes and then he goes home and he flips out about being lied to and feels like he can't trust her and then that's when he breaks up with her as Adrian and she doesn't know why he's breaking up with her because she doesn't know that he's cat Noir and she told cat Noir but didn't tell Adrian she was protecting Adrian and I feel like that would work better like instead of her telling Adrian and him getting upset she tells cat Noir not knowing that he's Adrian so then Adrian gets upset and breaks up with her and then that's when Lila as monarch or whatever her name is gonna be, tells the world all of this false information that makes Adrian even more angry because obviously she lied to him and then either he gets a Kooma or she gets a Kuma I think most likely it would be him though because he's so angry at Marinette for lying and then he gets a combat and she has to fight him and it's like she has to fight her boyfriend or ex-boyfriend and it's resolved he gets anodised by her having like a nice talk to him like she says something to him that comes down and about like his father and like makes him feel better about it I don't really know exactly what the wording would be but it's like she caused him to become Akuma but then she also fixes it and after that he's more excepting of his father and who his father was and that's how I think you do it personally in my opinion, that's at least how I would go about doing it, because I think that would make more sense to be honest. But again that's just my opinion.

How I would write Season 6: adrien and Marinette are in a happy relationship. At some point Andrien will meet Lila who tells him the truth about Gabriel. Adrien will not believe what she said because she is a liar. So everything is good until he stumbled as cat noir over Ladybugs message from season 5. He confronts Ladybug with that Informationen and she confirms that it is true. Adrien is angry that she does nothing against the lie but he calms down when she said that she decided to let the lie continue so the Agresst family is safe. After that Adrien confronts Marienette. She denies it at first but Adrien doesn't believe her so she then said the truth. Marienett says that she only did it because she cared for him but Adrien doesn't listen and start to scream at her. He is ready to hit her but then he just falls to the ground and starts crying. He tells her that he trusted her but she used that trust against him and the breaks up with her. After that he goes to lila to tell her that she was right. Lila will then console him (manipulation behavor) and then tell him more lies, like that she is actualy not evil but want's to use the butterfly miraculous to save Paris. Andrien will then join her. And this is just the start. There is so much that can happen after this. Lila finding out that Adrien is the hero cat noir, cat noir beeing conflicted because he wants to support lila but don't want to hurt Ladybug, drama between Adrien and Marienette, finding out about Lila's actual plan, her real self and her partners in crime, the big reveal bettween Marienette/Ladybug and Adrien/Cat Noir we all still waiting for. And Voila, already 3 Seasons filled with the next Story Ark.
I think adrian should explore his house and find out that way, ut would be more interesting then someone just telling him. About the break up it could work if the writing us good, but that would be MIRACULOUS 😅

If I were to decide how to (at least temporarily) break them up, I had an idea where Adrien gets soul evans'd and a dark entity manifests inside his head with it's appearance and mannerisms being a combination of the ink demon from bendy and room from _boisvert. The entity would generally discourage Adrien to trust others claiming they always hide secrets from him and that true friendships aren't about always having good time and making everyone happy, but about being willing bring them the best that can be offered, even if it's harmful and not of interest. It would also tell Adrien stuff like "the monster never gets the girl" and "what romantic relationship has one side knowing about the other side more than that same other side knows about himself?" And would encourage Adrien to look into the darker sides of the world to "become stronger". As for breaking up with Marinette, the entity would say both before and during the break up fight "she broke you. Now it's your turn to break her". And if Adrien were to pull it off, it would say "good job little Adrien. It was a hard and painful move/decision, but a necessary one."

Adrien being justifiably mad enough to break up with Marinette due to her hiding Hawkmoth's identity is just too good of an idea for Astruc think of. Most likely they break up over some small thing. Or if he does, I can't see it being better than the "Cat Noir being mad at Ladybug arc" which was terribly executed. We can dream, I guess. I do hope they at least try and develops Adrien's character and at the very very least, he finds out about his dad in season 6. Whether or not they break up because of it is a whole other thing but at least give him that fair bit of knowledge.

You're so right that writers seem to HATE writing stable couples. Conflict drives stories, but almost no writer seems to know how to have a happy couple deal with conflicts in their life and relationship while staying together (ya know, like actual real couples do), so they immediately jump to break ups and rehashing will-they won't-they dynamics again. So many actually good romance plot lines have gotten wrecked by writers doing this and making people behave out of character to accomplish it.
That said, there is a way to do this plot well and get some really good character development. Marinette and Adrien are both young and growing and keep a lot of secrets, so a breakup and reunification arc makes sense for them. It could be great! But we all know ML has had some great story setups that they've completely bungled so we'll have to see lol
They should observe Steven universe Garnet would really show them how a healthy relationship should be even though Ruby and Sapphire were toxic unseperated they became a really strong fusion throughout the show

I think this how it’s gonna happen: Cat Noir asks Ladybug about Monarchs true identity as he wasn’t there and deserves to know cause their “partners”. So she tells him he is very shocked and angry that she lied to all of Paris and asks her why. Ladybug tells him Gabriel’s dying wish and he kinda understands. Adrien becomes moody and distant even to Marinette. Cat Noir opening her eyes to the fact that even though she was trying to do the right thing lying in this situation was way wrong she goes to Adrien’s house to bream the sad news and tells him. And maybe or maybe not this could tie into a reveal or something who knows
I actually like that, and the idea that it could tie into the reveal because this subject is VERY important to the plot. But I think felix should be the one to tell him, bc their cousins and it will make their bond closer, and help adrien understand why he did what he did, THEN he can go confront ladybug and become distant and all those things. Also I just really want a better relationship between felix and adrien , i think theres is super interesting if the writers would expand on it, bc their cousins (kinda like brothers to eachother in a way)
I don't think this will happen, but it would be SUCH a gag if LILA was the one to reveal that news to Cat Noir. Like, maybe she wants to break up the partnership between LB & CN 1, because she knows they're stronger together, and 2, she wants LB alone and isolated. So, she reveals to Cat Noir that Gabriel Agreste was Monarch and he rewrote the world with a wish, and that LB knows that and still shows public support for him.
Cat Noir would then go confront Ladybug and ask why she didn't tell him, and how she found out, LB would reveal that she didn't actually discover Monarch's identity, Felix discovered it and then told her. Cat Noir would ask what else she knows, but she wouldn't tell him (maybe because she feels it's not her secret to tell, maybe for some other stupid Marinette reason). Adrien would then go talk to Felix, and idk how it'd go from there. Felix doesn't want Adrien to ever find out he's a sentibeing, and Felix is so complex that idk if he would just tell Adrien or talk in riddles lol.
I just think that would be a more dramatic and interesting way for Adrien to find out the truth and advance the plot at the same time.

I think the worst part about Marinette being the main character and a stalker and the fact that the show never portrays her stalking as a bad thing is that kids watch this show kids that don't know any better. I've talked to more than 3 people online who watched this show as a kid thought this behavior was okay and copied it in real life it's awful.
I think ladybug will tell cat noir that Gabe was monarch and Adrien gets furious that lady bug lied to him. Then some kind of drama in their relationship after that.
A lot of the community is actually predicting the opposite. They think that this is the season that we're going to get a true, honest to goodness reveal. Is it possible that they break up along the way? Absolutely, but it's likely that it won't stick. We worked WAY too long to get to this point and Luka is gonna make sure that what happened to him and Marinette won't happen in her relationship with Adrien/Chat Noir.
I honestly kinda hope this happens. Yes, Adrien has the right to know and to be mad, and Marinette should be held accountable. That said, we’ve waited far too long for this to have come to fruition. I think it would just be frustrating at this point for everything to just reset, you know?
First, it WOULDN'T be artificial drama. For meta AND narrative reasons, Adrian has legitimate reasons to break up with Marinette.
Second, they SHOULD be broken up for an extended period of time; a few episodes/a movie at minimum, half of a season at maximum. Having it be for is the TERRIBLE option. That's not long enough to equate to 5 seasons, 8 years, of build up to a relationship on a foundation of lies, deception, and misdirection.
The thing is, I think they have to break up, or at least have some sort of quake in their relationship. The season 5 finale was so dumb in that Adrien never found out, and Marinette even lied to him. When he finds that out (which he should, or else that would be even more writing stupidity), not breaking up with Marinette would be kind of ridiculous with how much she’s violated his trust.

I'm pretty sure that it's eventually gonna be revealed that Ladybug knew Gabriel was Monarch, which could lead to not only all of Paris turning on Ladybug but the Miraculous Team as well, which could lead to all members getting akumatized, including Cat Noir, leading to the return of Cat Blanc.

if they ever go that route of breaking them up, this is definitely the way to make it believable. but i doubt it very much that the writers would have the balls to address the wrong stuff going on in the s5 finale and let marinette actually be acknowledged as being in the wrong. i do think that if they do that, this would definitely be plausible of adrien to be mad and disappointed of her and actually break up with her.

8 years. 8 YEARS of making me root then actually realizing how unhealthy these ships are. 8 years down the drain where the most intresting thing that could happen in this show, would be it's core reason why it even exisisted, to desintegrate. Im more interested to see how 1, Marinette's relationship with Felix changes over the course of season 6, and 2, how Adrien's relationship with Felix changes after and if he finds out.
Now that Marinette knows everything Felix knows (especially why he did what he did) and she knows how smart Felix is (as far as Marinette knows, he was the only one to figure out Monarch's identity) she might start turning to him more than Chat Noir.
I mean, it would be easier for her to do that because she knows that Felix knows who she is, and she knows that he knows who Gabriel was, plus Felix knows about the sentibeing thing, so she doesn't have to lie to him. And she might turn to him for assistance in figuring out who the new butterfly holder is, since Felix is the one who figured it out last time. Their newfound closeness might possibly upset Adrien AND Chat Noir for different reasons. Adrien, because his girlfriend is opening up to his cousin more than she is him, and Chat Noir because Ladybug is turning to Argos for things more than she is him. The same goes for Kagami. Marinette might talk to Kagami more because of it as well.
If Adrien finds out, I'm sure a lot of Felix's actions would start to make more sense to him, and Adrien is smart enough to work out why Felix didn't tell him (given the whole 'red moon' incident). Adrien would probably still be mad at Felix for keeping everything from him, but idk if he'd be more or less mad at him than he'd be at Marinette.
I don't think the writers will pay off any of these dynamics that I just pointed out, and if they do it won't be in a good way, but I do want to know what other people think about it.
One big problem with this relationship...is that it's not really a relationship, they don't even have the chemistry to be even friends. Their kiss at the end of season five felt empty and fake, just like Ladybug's victory which was on the basis of a lie.
(Like you said yourself, "Kung Food" feels weird to see Mari and Adrien so friendly there, but that's one of the oddities of the first season.)
Marinette just loves the idealized version of Adrien, like a Justin Bieber fangirl; and let's be honest, she would suffer a nervous breakdown or denial if she found out he was Chat Noir...followed by guilt over the lousy way she treated him. And because of the "Chat Blanc" trauma, Marinette will never be close/confident or completely trust her Chat Noir.
Adrien has to pretend to be that "perfect self" to the public and his friends, while Chat Noir is his true self but no one likes him. The boy is a ticking time bomb that Lila will enjoy blowing up to make Marinette suffer.
Let's face it, whatever happens in the future...it's going to suck and it's going to be poorly written. Chat Noir will likely be seen as the bad guy for getting mad at Mari for lying to him, become villainous while she starts a relationship with Zoe Lee because that's what "female empowerment" writing is like.

I just want Adrien to find out at least "something". I mean this guy was supposed to be the second lead, and here he is, most out of the loop. The only time he actually got involved in some information was when he threw a tantrum(or if it even was that, I don't remember) and Wang Fu finally had the brain to think and realise that he was also part of the team, and he made contact with him. For most of the story, he is just there(don't need to mention him finding out Nino's identity, I remember that). Other characters get big scenes like, Alya finding out ladybug identity, Luka finding out both their identities, and then there is Adrien. I would even say, he is probably the only character with the least info right now(if you don't consider characters like Kim, who are just there to be dumb) for a supposed main character.
Even if it does happen it probably won’t be for long. For whatever reason the writers main focus was Adrienette and I don’t really see them doing it (considering how long it took the writers to get these two obsessed idiots together). If it was a permanent thing then that would be 5 seasons worth of bs (on top of the already bs the show has pulled already with Marinette and Adrien already). I still don’t ship Adrienette but I don’t really see the writers doing this because it’s what the show is really about and it was done poorly.

As much as they should break up, we cannot trust Astruct to write it in a way that won't cause a backlash. I could only imagine it going one of two ways.
1) They break up because Adrien find out the truth about Gabe and Ladybug keeping it a secret, which through some backwards logic will be resolved by him apologizing to Ladybug for him being wrong about being upset.
2) They break up because Ladybug somehow finds out Adrien is Chat Noir (probably by stalking him once again), and this breaks the 'we cannot know each other's identity' rule. And this will be resolved by Chat apologizing to Ladybug for causing her problems.

I can see a break up happening, and it is easily justifiable in Adrian's case given Marinette/Ladybug gaslights him.
However, I won't lie by saying I wish they just broke up for good, I don't care for the romance aspect of the series and care more for the story & lore in the series, and I do feel like the romance aspect, namely the Adrienette stuff has ruined the show a lot for me, espicially the fans. After the show bible leaks and seeing Adrienette fans wanting the kiss scene to be leaked just has me disgusted with the ship, and while I did like it initially, I have grown to outright despise it.

I hope they do. They won’t, at least not permanently (it’s one of the shows biggest appeals). I was rooting for this ship at first, but then I saw Copycat; I jumped ship pretty fast. This relationship as is now, should NOT work, at least not without a lot of work. Marinette never faces the consequences of constantly violating Adriens’ boundaries. At least in ways that stick. The show goes out of its way to justify it. If only Adrien was treated like an actual character and not a plot device. Realism was never this shows strong point though, so…

Yeah, as soon as I heard there were going to be three more seasons, I knew they had to be broken up at some point to keep viewers hoping for the eventual happy ending. But then the way season 5 ended, Adrien knows nothing and Marinette knows everything which is such an awful power dynamic and just hangs over Adrien's head- so much painful knowledge that had already been kept from him by his mom and dad and Natalie- and now, Marinette. That betrayal will lump them together in Adrien's mind even though time will help him separate them more appropriately. I'm not sure what Marinette *should* have done with Gabriel's wish, but...the truth needs to come out and it's going to be ugly. Especially if Lila is the one who tells Adrien...

Compare how many times Marinette has lied compared to Lila.la lies even when she doesn't need to. one of them did it accidently or to protect someone, even when telling the truth was better. and the other does it for fun greed and hatred. and in some cases, she even apologizes if it happens to cause harm. But Lila does none of those. Even if she breaks it up, it won't be because she's a hero but because of her own interest. She's not any better. she's even worse. And as iffy as Marinette can be, I'm not going to be biased. because most of us can still see how genuine and nice she is. not much of a villain in that regard, despite how shit her character is sometimes. don't even get me started on how Lila tantrums easily, whereas Marinette has a reason to complain. and when she does, it isn't cringe inducing as stubborn Lila. Marinette isn't as harmfully stubborn. and she doesn't hold onto grudges or tantrums that cause more harm just because nothing is working. and she doesn't go out of her way to cause problems just because she's jealous or mad. she takes responsibility for her actions.
Lila doesn't have much to her aside from being 'Bad'(cringe) and annoying to a t. even when she was initially introduced, she still seemed fake with most of her genuineness. and we only found out later on that's she was actually bad. and when we find out the true reason why, that still doesn't excuse how much suffering she caused, on screen and anywhere else she traveled to. she's just as a big villain as Gabriel. so how exactly is Marinette such a villain?

It could be Lila to try and cause the break up. She could get jealous of Marinette and Adrien being canon and try to whisper in Adrien's ears about Gabriel being monarch. Adrien probably won't immediately believe her until she submits facts or shows proof. Or something will happen, and Adrien will investigate. He'll be mad at Ladybug and then angry at Marinette for supporting the idea of lying to Paris about Gabriel being a hero.
I think it would be fantastic if this lead to a Marinette akumitization. Once Hawkmoth gets control of her she lets it slip that Gabe was Hawkmoth and it rattles Adrien so much that it causes him to break up with Marinette for all the reasons you listed

They will only because none of both parts is honest to each other. Every relationships must be found on the ground that everyone involved, whether romantic, platonic, familiar or whatever, trust each other. Once you lie, or omit the truth, that trust would shatter like a broken mirror, and even if you manage to piece it together, it won’t have the same reflection ever again.

That's been my thoughts on this ship as well. They will eventually end up together again, but they have some growth and learning to do. Either that or will decide to just be friends and get together again later. It's all going to come crashing down WHEN, not IF Adrien finds out the truth. He simply has to find out everything that has been a secret.
There's something that the writers need to know by now: MARINETTE/LADYBUG NEEDS TO FACE CONSEQUENCES FOR HER ACTION. I feel like the writers made too many excuse for her behavior by now, or she's just straight up being a Mary Sue who gets away with everything. But hey, Thomas doesn't want his "daughter" to be upset or anything bad happen to her, the break-up will be very unlikely. What is there to hope for, this show has too many plot holes and flaws and I doubt Season 6 is gonna fix all of that.

I think what they should do is kind of similar to what you said, where you have this calm settle where Lila doesn't stop being a villain straight away and everything seems good for the first like one or two episodes and that's where we see all this cute stuff with Marinette and Adrian and you know their relationship seems good and Marinette decides you know what there is no more villain we need to defeat we can be honest now and so she says Adrian there's something I need to tell you I am ladybug I know this is a lot taken, but I need you to not share this with anyone, I still think it's a good idea for her to tell Adrian not to tell cat Noir or like say it would be really bad if cat Noir found out because he really likes ladybug and I'm ladybug and I really like you or something like that where it's like she's trying to protect him and then it can be something like please don't tell anyone I don't want cat Noir to find out who I am. And then you can have her go on a mission with cat Noir to defeat someone who is like stealing or you know something that isn't to do with accommodation or at least they don't think it is until the reveal of Lila a few episodes later so it's like they go on this mission and during that time that she's with cat noir she then tells cat Noir about the stuff with Adrian and Gabe and Gabe being monarch and all of that and she tells it to cat noir who she doesn't know is Adrian and then obviously Adrian freaks out and little bit and she asks if everything is okay and he says yes and then he goes home and he flips out about being lied to and feels like he can't trust her and then that's when he breaks up with her as Adrian and she doesn't know why he's breaking up with her because she doesn't know that he's cat Noir and she told cat Noir but didn't tell Adrian she was protecting Adrian and I feel like that would work better like instead of her telling Adrian and him getting upset she tells cat Noir not knowing that he's Adrian so then Adrian gets upset and breaks up with her and then that's when Lila as monarch or whatever her name is gonna be, tells the world all of this false information that makes Adrian even more angry because obviously she lied to him and then either he gets a Kooma or she gets a Kuma I think most likely it would be him though because he's so angry at Marinette for lying and then he gets a combat and she has to fight him and it's like she has to fight her boyfriend or ex-boyfriend and it's resolved he gets anodised by her having like a nice talk to him like she says something to him that comes down and about like his father and like makes him feel better about it I don't really know exactly what the wording would be but it's like she caused him to become Akuma but then she also fixes it and after that he's more excepting of his father and who his father was and that's how I think you do it personally in my opinion, that's at least how I would go about doing it, because I think that would make more sense to be honest. But again that's just my opinion.

Me too I binge watched the entire show up till now in like a month or 2 but the only videos I seem to watch about it are videos that tear the show apart limb from limb and insult the writers lol
And the show will undoubtedly try to shield Marinette of any real consequences for her actions or from looking like the "bad guy" whatsoever.
Unfortunately the show seems to do that a lot.
I haven't watched the show in years now because i needed to get out of it. It felt like a drug addiction. I couldn't get enough, although I knew it wasn't good for me. I never in my life watched a romance drama so stupidly complicated. I'm so glad I'm sober from this show. the movie gave me everything i have wanted from this show for 5 years.

How I would write Season 6: adrien and Marinette are in a happy relationship. At some point Andrien will meet Lila who tells him the truth about Gabriel. Adrien will not believe what she said because she is a liar. So everything is good until he stumbled as cat noir over Ladybugs message from season 5. He confronts Ladybug with that Informationen and she confirms that it is true. Adrien is angry that she does nothing against the lie but he calms down when she said that she decided to let the lie continue so the Agresst family is safe. After that Adrien confronts Marienette. She denies it at first but Adrien doesn't believe her so she then said the truth. Marienett says that she only did it because she cared for him but Adrien doesn't listen and start to scream at her. He is ready to hit her but then he just falls to the ground and starts crying. He tells her that he trusted her but she used that trust against him and the breaks up with her. After that he goes to lila to tell her that she was right. Lila will then console him (manipulation behavor) and then tell him more lies, like that she is actualy not evil but want's to use the butterfly miraculous to save Paris. Andrien will then join her.
And this is just the start. There is so much that can happen after this. Lila finding out that Adrien is the hero cat noir, cat noir beeing conflicted because he wants to support lila but don't want to hurt Ladybug, drama between Adrien and Marienette, finding out about Lila's actual plan, her real self and her partners in crime, the big reveal bettween Marienette/Ladybug and Adrien/Cat Noir we all still waiting for.
And Voila, already 3 Seasons filled with the next Story Ark.
I think adrian should explore his house and find out that way, ut would be more interesting then someone just telling him. About the break up it could work if the writing us good, but that would be MIRACULOUS 😅

Adrian deserves better than to date the girl who was a creepy perverted stalker to him ever since she met him. Their romance not only felt forced but they don't even have any chemistry, how the hell would Adrian develop a crush on the girl who can barely talk to him?
If I were to decide how to (at least temporarily) break them up, I had an idea where Adrien gets soul evans'd and a dark entity manifests inside his head with it's appearance and mannerisms being a combination of the ink demon from bendy and room from _boisvert. The entity would generally discourage Adrien to trust others claiming they always hide secrets from him and that true friendships aren't about always having good time and making everyone happy, but about being willing bring them the best that can be offered, even if it's harmful and not of interest. It would also tell Adrien stuff like "the monster never gets the girl" and "what romantic relationship has one side knowing about the other side more than that same other side knows about himself?" And would encourage Adrien to look into the darker sides of the world to "become stronger". As for breaking up with Marinette, the entity would say both before and during the break up fight "she broke you. Now it's your turn to break her". And if Adrien were to pull it off, it would say "good job little Adrien. It was a hard and painful move/decision, but a necessary one."
