- So last year, I was set on making my own version of The Child from The Mandalorian, but pretty much RIGHT after I made him, I uh.... dropped him (mom of the year). I also wasn't super satisfied with the end result in the first place, so I decided he needed a glow-up of sorts. I wanted to switch up the techniques and materials I used, and make a whole new version!

If it's any consolation, the first "Baby Yoda" looks like what I imagine ACTUAL Yoda looked like as a child.

I felt so seen. I've got at least 10 different pairs of scissors in my apartment and whenever I need them I can't find any (except for my fabric scissors which I refuse to use on anything but fabric)

I love that you dive into projects like this - I am a full time painter and make my paints from stones and I definitely can relate to the no mock up life - even though in the long run I remake things - meaning that I actually did do a lock up 😂

I don't know of this could be considered a compliment or not, but Rachel is the youtuber I binge when I don't feel good, or feel sick enough that I know I'll be camping out in bed all day. Her whole vibe is a great mix of comfort and humor.

I didn't understand why she just didn't buy the doll torso at Michael's, instead if dismembering a doll? And aren't the head and limbs sewn on the torso where they could have been snipped off rather than sawn off?
@@TheCelticSelkie. She used the head, hands, and feet of the baby doll for visual reference of the size the new parts should be, approximately, to get the proportions right for a youngling. 🙃😉

I love seeing how folks improve themselves over time. To me this did not feel repetitive at all. Although I did drop my phone (what I was viewing this on) when you dropped your coffee and silently cried for you (due to coffee loss, mugs can be fixed).

La doll air dry clay would have been better than model magic. Its one of the best air dry clays for doll making and sculpture design.

I work in a nursery school, and we used to have a tree trunk in the garden that the children balanced and climbed on. The dismembering reminds me of when I made a prop for a production of Annie a few years ago entitled 'gin bottle baby' - the head unscrewed to allow Miss Hannigan to drink from a concealed bottle inside! Most nights we had to hunt around the wings to find the head....
