You _slayed_ it out there. Like, legit chills from seeing you catch those lingers. I've only caught one legal one from shore *ever* and it was such a thrill and I go out fishing from the rocks all the damn time. To have it happen to you on your first outing? Damn son, you scary.
Hey fellas you 2 hit me up if you ever want to go catch a ton of Ling Cod in kayaks! Catch and cook ling cod on the kayaks! Limits in minutes :) I have fully rigged kayaks for all of us with electronics rod holders etc just let me know when you want to go and lets go!!!
Best fishing channel out there, hands down! Who agrees ? You make me want to go fishing so bad!! I’m gonna do a fishing trip on my channel very soon. Props to you man 👍🏼
That water looks so clear and just absolutely gorgeous! We don't have clear water like that down here in Florida. On the East coast. Really murky. I bet those fish tasted FANTASTIC!!!
When it’s a long day an finally a new vid pops up... I need more! Lol can’t get enough.. I’ve actually gone back to your first videos an started watching those forward😕 more catch an cook
classic bluebird day.. enjoying all the various adventures, but love that you still circle back to primeval roots: the outer coast, on foot, surfcasting and rockfishing
He can't just go fishing everyday and edit videos too, for a fishing channel that requires actual time and activity unlike video games he's doing great
I never really comment on videos but just wanted to say your content is very relaxing. Also your camera shot job on all your videos are on point btw. Love it!!
One of my favorite things about your channel is when u cook and eat the fish you catch on the spot. I'm just a little disappointed that we didn't get to see you cook that fish with just a little bit of butter and tease us with how good it taste.
Don't ever stop making RUclips videos my guy like you're such a great guy and I love your videos! And you inspire me so much ! Well keep on fishing man!
Just love seeing the happiness on fishermen faces when they catch something. It's an instant smile from me. Love the videos! Thank you for uploading and sharing your experiences!
U should make more videos of taking people to fish for their first time or just catch their first fish from the ocean. Love seeing how happy they get when they catch their first fish. Love ur videos and can't wait for the next!
Loved the video! Your friends always seem so cool and down to earth! I seriously hope you guys get together for a camping trip and have a couple hours worth of video. 😁. You truly have the BEST catch and cooks!!
i love your videos! especially catch n cooks. makes my mouth water every time! you know so much about fishing, it's helping me to prepare to possibly go out on a boat with my boyfriend to catch some fish down here in San Diego.
love your video's, brings back memories of when me and my best friend/bro-in-law would hunt down every little fishing hole we could find in the early 80's on tampa bay, canoe, wading, bridges, piers, jetties. none were safe!
Here's a great fishing trip idea for you. Come to Michigan for some Steelhead during the spring run. Tip...Ludington and the Pere Marquette river. You've never had such a blast fishing as when you hook up with one of these silver bullets in the river current. What a blast!
I spent a week in the hospital in 1976 after trying to climb down a similar cliff to fish. The Coast Guard had to use a helicopter to get me off the beach. I lost half the blood in my body. I was lucky enough to not hit my head or my spine. I broke all my ribs on my left side and my left shoulder. I had a hemopneumothorax, which is a collapsed lung caused by internal bleeding in the chest cavity. This is a dangerous activity.
Man, love you videos and I think you re-lit my fishing spirit. I used to go fishing with my gramps and dad when I was a kid, but after 20's I kind of forgot all about it. I think I'm hooked again (no pun intended). Thank you and keep posting amazing videos
Love your vid's I live in Washington state, south of Seattle near Tacoma and Puget Sound. When I was in my 20's in the '90's we used to fish off of a pier in Desmoines' The pier was was built with an artifitial reef. Lingcod in the 20-30lb range were normal. we would buy live herreing or jig for them or shiner perch for live bait. We used a salmon duel hook rig and a 30-40" leader with a swivel and and 1/4" tube and old spark plugs because the man made reef would take your tackle. you plugged your spark plug into the rubber tube so you did'nt lose lead. We put the first hook through the bait's back to keep it alive so it would swim around.loved those Lings and Cabazon. GIGANTIC Octopuss too. We have the biggest octopuss in the world here too.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish feed him for a lifetime. You just successfully introduced this man into fishing (least for ling). Awesome.
Some of that stuff just looks gnarly from the angle it's seen from. A lot of the places I fish must look like I'm trying to kill myself because the angles you can see me at look crazy steep with no footing, which isn't remotely the case if you were actually standing where I was; just use common sense and bring a buddy if you are able. If you have good hiking boots and are fairly sure-footed then there is very little standing in the way of you and prime fishing real estate my friend. Those lingers and monster rockfish are calling youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu 😉
Haha whatever makes you feel comfortable! Always better safe than sorry. But if you ever what to take small steps forward to get your "rock hopper legs" you should go poke around Lands End in SF (have Josh take you around), Point Cavallo across the GGB, or even bop around Pescadero SB 👍🏻
Every lingcod is beautiful to me. I have no idea where this spot is, but for someone without a boat it's a great spot to catch rockfish and lings. That first ling looked tiny to me, but I'm used to fishing offshore. A couple years ago I landed two lings in the boat when one was hitchhiking on the other. I was very lucky to have netted both of course. Both weighed over twenty pounds apiece and the second was hanging directly from the tail end of the first, which made for nearly six feet of lingcod on one hook! Hey I'm totally jealous of you guys! I'm too old and busted up to fish such a cool isolated spot. Boats are a money pit even if you get access to bigger fish it's so expensive to use that a killer spot like this one is money in the bank!
You probably won't see this but I just got some merch can't wait till it gets here man. I love watching your videos. I wish you only the best. Tight lines buddy
Thank you again for the amazing ocean fishing experience brother!
please both collab with a survial fishing in rivers or lakes or maybe swamps. that will be pretty damn great
Great vid as usual
that survival trip, will be dope💯. Cant wait.
You _slayed_ it out there. Like, legit chills from seeing you catch those lingers. I've only caught one legal one from shore *ever* and it was such a thrill and I go out fishing from the rocks all the damn time. To have it happen to you on your first outing? Damn son, you scary.

Your friend was so grateful to you for teaching him. Thats a good guy right there, showing gratitude
In an alternative universe you catch sticks of butter and use a little bit of fish to flavor it
In an alternative universe, the lingcod catches you.
>:(
I love how you have been taking people out and giving them such a fun experience with their first lingcod salmon etc.

I met Ryan while fishing for trout. He was killing it at the creek. That's cool you're going to have a survival camping trip together. Great video.
Conquering fear of heights and conquering the ocean . Well done gentlemen
Yeah! Glad you did a shore fishing video again! And both of you have great energy, looking forward to more collabs
Ryan seems like a cool dude, cant wait to see more of you two.
Im happy for Ryan and its nice to see him so happy!
The only guy i give a thumbs up before i start watching - yet to be disappointed - top work Matts
Do more catch n cooks! Somewhere in the range of 1 vid per day. That’s not asking too much is it 😂
Alex Saeteurn Nah, 1 vid a day wont keep me alive dood. At least 8 hrs of film each day.
Exactly, I been saying this too. I started watching his channel almost a year ago because of the catch and cooks he would normally do.
Catch and cooks are the reason i subbed :)
I agree!! His catch and cooks are what I live for!
He can't just go fishing everyday and edit videos too, for a fishing channel that requires actual time and activity unlike video games he's doing great
I never really comment on videos but just wanted to say your content is very relaxing. Also your camera shot job on all your videos are on point btw. Love it!!
dude that looks like the best spot for cliff jumping ! water was really calm and clear
One of my favorite things about your channel is when u cook and eat the fish you catch on the spot. I'm just a little disappointed that we didn't get to see you cook that fish with just a little bit of butter and tease us with how good it taste.
Hell yeah. He says that so much
My favorite phrase you always say that gets stuck in my head every time when I click your videos is “Hell Yeah!” 😅
Don't ever stop making RUclips videos my guy like you're such a great guy and I love your videos! And you inspire me so much ! Well keep on fishing man!
Love the idea of the survival camping trip!!!
Just love seeing the happiness on fishermen faces when they catch something. It's an instant smile from me. Love the videos! Thank you for uploading and sharing your experiences!

Yeaaahh!!! Nice catch Ryan!! Let's gooooooo!!!
U should make more videos of taking people to fish for their first time or just catch their first fish from the ocean. Love seeing how happy they get when they catch their first fish. Love ur videos and can't wait for the next!

love your video's, brings back memories of when me and my best friend/bro-in-law would hunt down every little fishing hole we could find in the early 80's on tampa bay, canoe, wading, bridges, piers, jetties. none were safe!
Huge support from Australia bro, love your videos
Good job bud! Always good taking a mate out to hookup, especially his first salt water fish! Legend 👌
Here's a great fishing trip idea for you. Come to Michigan for some Steelhead during the spring run. Tip...Ludington and the Pere Marquette river. You've never had such a blast fishing as when you hook up with one of these silver bullets in the river current. What a blast!
Happy for Ryan. Awesome 👌
Awesome day man. Beautiful catches

Thank you for a great video! Those fish look great!!
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish feed him for a lifetime.
You just successfully introduced this man into fishing (least for ling). Awesome.

Bay and Beyond Fishing hahaha was thinking the same.. You want me to climb where?? 😱😰

If I ever go on rocks like these, It'll look like I'm white water rafting some class 10 rapids, life jacket and helmets while I fish.
Definitely looking forward to your camping trip video. Make it a multi part special 👍
