Taylor Swift low key writes some of the best pop punk songs. There is arguably more pop punk covers of her songs than any other individual artist
I think she just writes greatly structured songs, that can probably be covered in any way and sound amaing
She has said a few different times that Fall Out Boy were one of her biggest lyrical influences and has done some fall out boy covers at her concerts. Also there's a song with them on her next album as well as a song with Hayley williams
she is arguably one of the best lyricists to ever do it, and i think that really resonates with the punk vibe and sound. 100% goes with any beat and style!

Yeah you can hear the emo influences in some of her stuff, for sure. This one is especially Dashboard-ish, she's even got a line about spinning in your highest heels, which is directly lifted to from a DC song! Love it

This is extra funny because when the new FOB album came out and had a song called “Hold Me Like a Grudge” my immediate thought was “isn’t that a TSwift line?” (No, I was thinking of “keep you like an oath” from All Too Well)

Honestly when I first heard this song on Folklore I was immediately getting Dashboard Confessional vibes, especially the chorus and the “spinning in my highest heels” line with that melody. This just solidified it in my mind. This was an amazing cover

Folklore is her best album, I agree. She does her best work lyrically when she’s crafting stories and it was so cool to see a whole album of just that.

Pop punk has always been my jam, and for some reason Taylor songs fit that genre really well. She has really good lyrics and melodies.

In another universe Taylor Swift is an emo/pop punk artist.
The majority of songs on her album 'fearless' could easily be songs made by bands like MCR, The Used, Dashboard Confessional, just to name a few.
Taylors songs just have that vibe.

@@adamnicholson1839 I am actually listening to evermore right now but so far only 3-4 songs are ones I actually like (the actual evermore song is actually on replay for me right now). But it's to each their own. I do like evermore but not as much as I like Midnights and Folklore lol
