I actually don't get the dislike for the vocals, and I am usually picky about vocals in this stuff. The vocals work great.

It is often prefered in darksynth to only possess the instrumental as it conveys a story abstractly, which to Perturbator's case is more fitting since he's very ambiant oriented. I don't dislike it either, but I do prefer vocalless songs.

I adore the vocals, they're definitely not for everyone, but if you understand the purpose of them, and get over the silly "deep" voice almost midway through, they compliment the instrumental exceptionally

I just watched Bladerunner 2049 - it was the last screening of the day and the film ended at 2:30AM. I got out of theater and it was a bit misty. And as good as the soundtrack of the movie was, I just wanted to do one thing - get in my car and blast the New Model EP - the new model flowed into Future Days then Uncanny Valley. At one point I caught myself driving needlessly in the empty dark city for almost an hour and a half. I went home at 4:30, got late for work, I got scolded but I had one of the most memorable nights of my life! Such is the power of this dude.

I barely had the same experience, after leaving the theather (and I really enjoyed this new Blade Runner), I had the need of listening this. I think this track is my favorite for the moment, the drop beginning at 3:27 is like a slow descent into the hell of a black metropolis. And those darkness are so comfy, I could stay in for hours.

    • @RadRogue1

I had a similar experience, except I got fired. Testing pleasure models was beginning to bore me anyway.

mine was a bit more prosaic... i played Cyberpunk 2077 blasting Uncanny Valley and then this EP, while going on a murdering rampage in screen for nearly 2 hours non stop (except for drinks and bathroom)

This song is utterly unhinged, in a 15-ton-steel-door-blown-off-its-hinges-to-expose-the-secrets-of-the-world kinda way.

It's like looking into the depths of your very soul and coming face to face with all the heinous, evil and immoral things you are capable of doing while trying to stay sane and not let them consume you. Pretty horrifying stuff.

    Lyrics:
    "Poisonous eyes
Lay your poisonous eyes on me
And taint me if you dare
Yeah taint me if you're so smart
Scotch and soda in my blood
Where can I get some more
    I'm taking you home
    I'm making my point
    I'm taking you
    Please allow me to play
    With my shiny stainless blade
    And stroke your marble skin
And feel the steel slide between your thighs
    Hush!
You are not leaving this couch
    Shut up!
Or i'll smash every tooth in your mouth
Let me do a little dance
Let me show you some romance
    Let me be a gentleman
Let me put on some jazz
    Let me fetch some candle
Let me turn up the heat
    Let me light a Partagras
    Let me tie your ankles
Let me treat you like a queen
    The pulse in your throat
    Beating louder now
    Beating faster now
    The pulse in your throat
    Beating faster now
    Beating louder now
    Beating faster now
    Pressing my finger
    Deeper ever deeper
Into the flesh of your neck
    Panting
    Both of us panting
    Panting
    The pulse in your throat
    Beating slower now"

When this was first put out I immediately loved it, I assumed it was sans vocals, but loved it so much with. I only had picked up on a few lyrics and was like 'dang that's dark - amazing'. But reading the lyrics I had a bit of a chuckle to the 'let me put on some jazz... Etc' part but if you really listen to the lyrics as a whole it's quite an interesting story that takes you for quite a rollercoaster. Also I think someone else mentioned it sounded like a sexy merge of Perturbator and L'enfant de la Foret and I totally agree(I even hear the latter peppered through the EP) now that I've delved into his side project recently and gave it a listen too. Even with the Uncanny Add On you can see it progressing into a new beast and then jumping straight into it with New Model and it's very delicious.

    • @corpseplower666
      @corpseplower666 7 лет назад +3

The vocals are the same, just with a darker tone to fit the song. They're not like in Anarchy Road just as this song isn't like Disco Girls. I'm just amazed why people accept change for only half of the artists involved, more so if this is Perturbator's vision of what he wanted the song to sound like, and people are storming the comment section like if OddZoo came by and decided to ruin it. A few days ago there wasn't a new Perturbator song out there, and now people got it and are demanding an instrumental. That's a poisoned fanbase.

    • @TheNoodleGod9001
      @TheNoodleGod9001 7 лет назад +6

The vocals aren't the same. The vocalist is clearly trying way too hard in this particular song, doing a goofy "deep voice" like 2 minutes in, and the lyrics themselves are really awkwardly written. He gave a much better performance in anarchy road.
People don't like it because it is bad. We aren't obligated to like everything perturbator does just because we like perturbator.

The vocals are amazing- it’s dark, grotesque, and beautiful.

Contrary to popular belief... this song is fucking dope!
Based on these comments, I'm pretty sure that 99% who are ready to storm the gates of "where's the fucking instrumental" didn't even bother listening to the entire song first. Spoiler alert... It's fucking bad-ass! Musicians and producers are not going to keep releasing the same record over and over just to appease a few turds.
So, before dismissing all the work that went into this song because of clean vocals... How bout you let dude spread his wings and fly... just for a few minutes!
However, if the temptation is too great and these clean vocals are too much. You can always write, compose, record, mix, master, and produce your own album... Then kindly fuck off!

Dzeimsas That's retarded. If I told you that the Jimmie Hendrix version of All Along The Watchtower was better, that's not my fault. In that same way, if people say an instrumental is probably better, that's also not our fault.

This song start to be really interesting start from 3:03 I was also surprised to kwow that Carpenter Brut and Perturbator both share the same singer (oddZoo). For those who don't know him go listen to Arnachy Road!

Holy shut I love this song! The vocals are nice too. The guy makes the song 10x sluttier 83 it's perfect for my Arc V OTPs. Like everyone else I'd love to have the instrumental but just for atmospheric purposes when I'm writing, drawing or have a movie going on in my head!

Ehh he's not that bad, it's just that his voice doesn't suit the tune very well. Imo Perturbator's music has always sounded better and more powerful without vocals. Except Meet Jimmy. That song is incredible the way it is.

Elbereth I think the voice and lyrics are necessary on Sentient too. It's really beautiful with Stewart's voice, and an instrumental version would just lose an important dimension of the track
