How to Make a Ward Eight

This week's cocktail, in honor of this past Election Day, we'll be going over the Ward Eight, a cocktail created back in 1896 to celebrate the election of a public official to Boston's eighth ward!
2 oz (60 ml) Rye Whiskey
0.5 oz (15 ml) Lemon Juice
0.5 oz (15 ml) Orange Juice
2 Tsp Grenadine
Garnish: 2 or 3 speared cherries
Add the rye whiskey, lemon juice, orange juice, and grenadine to a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with speared cherries.

It does! Quite a unique Rye Whiskey cocktail, imo. Might be the only one I’ve ever had that incorporates OJ
