  • We've been getting some sneak peeks at spring weather lately, so for this week's cocktail we'll be doing a walkthrough of a spring cocktail that was created in London back in the 80s -- the Bramble!
    2 oz (60 ml) Gin
1 oz (30 ml) Lemon Juice
2 teaspoons (bar spoons) Simple Syrup
0.5 oz (15 ml) Crème de Mûre (or Crème de Cassis)
    Garnish: Lemon half-wheel
    Garnish: Blackberry
Add the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. Fine-strain into an Old Fashioned glass over crushed ice.
Slowly pour the creme de mure over the top of the drink.
Garnish with a lemon half-wheel and a fresh blackberry.

I love experimenting with this recipe using different fruit flavours

Yeah I'm going to try it with the Chambord next time I make it instead of the Creme de Cassis. After that, I'll have to delve even deeper into the other various flavors

Oh, great! Because this is easily one of the best/most popular cocktails that use Crème de Cassis
