As I live in Australia my nearest microsoft store is on the other side of the continent and your video is a lifesaver.
I can easily understand how it happens and for someone that works with many devices, connector problems are not normally a consideration of boot up problems.
I have contacted microsoft about your video on the solution and they said to me that if there are more users experiencing this problem they will put it forward as concern, so please can everyone that found this useful contact microsoft and try and help with this problem.
    Thanks

THIS WORKED! I tried all the rest of the fixes and nothing worked but your instructions from the Windows store. So weird but it worked. Did the CPR to every part of the back then the holding down the power button and volume up for 25 seconds, letting go of both then clicking the power button really quick after letting them go Thank you so much!
Edit- It had a strange boot screen that said trusted platform (TPH) enabled was selected, Secure boot control enabled was selected, install secure boot keys was another option, delete all secure boot keys, then exit set up. I just reset it and exit.. iit turned on byut has been on a screen saying preparing automatic repair or a while now... hope it fixes it.. not sure if I selected the right things for the boot screen...

IT WORKS 100%! Thanks a million! We bought this Surface 3 Pro in the US and we brought it to Turkey where we live. No customer service here. So, we went to RUclips after seeing that MS does not help, not even in their website. We were having our doubts, but, after 6 trials of continuos CPR as suggested, the PC went on. **Suggestion: we discovered a trick... plug the device and do CPR, you'll see that the charger LED blinks every time you apply pressure. Keep doing it 15 pushes, then try turn it it on. Do not give up until it turns on**

So I proceeded to do the CPR and it worked!!!.. Although I sadly cracked my screen in the process as i applied too much pressure doing the CPR.. so my advise to be gentle with pressure .. but your video really helped. Katherine, you are a complete star to share your story! I am a reasonably techie guy, so I was profoundly sceptical. But with no other option to recover some software files I gave it a go, and of course it worked for me.
But, fellow readers, take note! My Pro 2 would only stay on for a couple of minutes (especially if I touched it) or so before needing another cpr workout. So, with nothing to lose, I thumped my Pro 2 really hard about 20 x and it seems to have kept going long enough to backup my work. I used a bluetooth keyboard and touchpad so that the screen unit would not need touching, and that's how I'm writing this comment now. The problem must surely be a poor connector or similar in the internal workings which needs flexing to remake a poor connection.

Listen My Queen...you just saved my life. My daughter received a hand-me-down laptop from her uncle RIGHT BEFORE we went into quarantine. This morning she woke up and it wasn’t working and while I was calm but mama angry on the outside, I was freaking tf out on the inside. I went through all the paces and nothing. I knew there was some sort of disconnect because I got a sound when I disconnected/reconnected her usb mouse, but still had a black screen. I was all ready to call my husband at work when I stumbled upon your video in an article. Man can I tell you that this ish worked! I have a Surface Book 2 and with the keyboard attached, I did 25 compressions on each side, while listening to see if something clicked or sounded like it was being pushed together. I heard that sound several times and when I was done, I opened it back up. It still had a black screen, but I rebooted it and BAM! It worked. I can’t thank you enough, and wish I could give you a big hug.

I wondered how this amount of people had this problem and commented here and Microsoft still doesn't respond and didn't tell any thing to fix it. my surface pro3 had this problem couple of month ago. I was really hopeless and try to do some really painful for the last chance. I hit it hard, very hard that I afraid it could break. but it was my last chance. suddenly it wakes up. after a few days it went off and didin't started again. this time I pushed top right of screen hard with my thumb. just near camera and a little down. it starts again. after a few search on the net found the tip to hold surface horizontally and push its back, toward your self. it works also but still risk of breaking it. after that i turned every update off and turn auto sleep off . i turned hibernate off. it was ok for 4 month but these days problem seems to be back. I came to search if MS have any respond and there aren't any! then I saw your post. think this CPR is best way with low risk of breakage. still hope MS tells us about what the exact problem is and it's solution.!!! it is problem of many people and they have to answer.

I did the online search and went through the various power button fixes multiple times with no luck but tried this and it worked! I had to try 3 times (15 compressions each keyboard off, screen down on a towel) but the third time was the charm and it powered back up. I'll admit I was a little nervous as I am not a small person and was afraid I would push to hard and break something. Thank you so much for posting this video Chichi!!! I tried everything (except the freezer trick) to get my dead Surface pro to turn on, nothing worked. I finally found this video and was skeptical but thought I'd give it a shot. Wow!!! It worked like magic! I couldn't believe it. First thing I did after it turned on was to change the hibernation & sleep settings so that it never sleeps or hibernates and now I do a total shutdown every time I'm done using it and haven't had a system crash since. I think this is related to the "sleep of death" bug that's affecting about 300K surface pros. Microsoft should address the problem and fix this issue. It's criminal that the company can sell me a $1300 product with a built in bug that can randomly turn it into a useless brick. At the very least the setting defaults should not be set so as to allow the system to do an update when there is not enough power left for it to complete since that results in a total system crash. Microsoft tech dept.s only suggestion was for me to pay $450 for a refurbished SP!!! What a scam! Shame on you Microsoft.

I works similar to surface its a 3 in 1 and came with pen.

I had the same problem, with the out of the box refurbished Surface Pro 4 Microsoft sent me as a replacement of my old one, after I dropped it and cracked its screen (there isn't official Microsoft Repair in my country). After a few hours of trying every troubleshooting tip I found online, I stumble upon your video. At first I was like "she must be trolling, there is no way, this does not make any sense. On the other hand what do I have to lose besides looking stupid, alone, in my room..!". Long story short, it worked!! (it took 2 attempts actually). I don't know how to thank you enough beautiful lady! Cheers!

Hello from Paris, France ! I had exactly the same issue. I tried everything I could find on the web, to no result. Hopefully I found your video. And... it just worked ! The problem should be a loose connector or a bad contact inside. Apart from that, I love Arizona, and Sedona is so nice ! Thank you soooo much sharing this tip !!

Tried pressing the turn on button and the low sound button at the same time for about 10 sec and pro 3 surface booted back to life. Can't figure why this happened first time after an update. This technique is the same in an Android phone that would not turn on. I barely used this laptop because more of inconvenience when using the physical keyboard as I need to prop the back legs on a table instead of my lap. Should have purchased a chrome book instead for my type of light usage.

Before I going to maintain my surface pro 4 I fortunate to found this video. When I get the cost(2800RMB = 420USD 3 party fix or back to factory 3600RMB = 540USD ) from the maintenance manager in shanghai local city, that I decided to try this method(CPR), and in finally it's working on my surface pro 4. But before doing this, I have think about the principle how it work with, and I have checked lot of fix video and I notice that the Lithium battery is the core for. And CPR is just active Lithium battery and let it recovery. My case is = Long time not use = Long time not charge = But in this before every thing is working well. I bring my case and hope it can help somebody to find some thread.

In finally my SP4 has the charge socket problem, and I send it to Shenzhen to fix it. And it cost me 240RMB parts replacement + 100RMB fare. The very important thing is my battery is working well. So i need to clarify this, hope the comment of above that not make misleading you.

After beginning the screen removal of my Surface to repair some chip inside, it came back to life. Great. Used it for several weeks and then dead again. More searching and found this. OK, I'll try anything as removing the screen was getting rather difficult. Well, IT WORKED! Had to do it several times but it's running and I was able to recover the docs I thought were buried in the SSD. Thanks for the share....

Thank soooooo very much. This is the second time am having this issue of my surface pro 3 not turning on after the battery goes off completely. The first time, it was off for about 3 days then I took it to the store where I got it from, PCWorld. They were not able to do anything about it and I was told that it cannot be repaired. I was so devastated, as I just had it for about 2 years. I decided to take it to the local computer repair store. I told the guy at the store that my pc won't turn on. He pressed the button and it came on.
It went off this morning and no matter what I tried it wasn't coming back on. I did the cpr and I have it working again. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing this bonkers advice; it sounds weird, but it works!

Very nice video. Informative. You must have been so happy. For me when I'm anxious about something and that something goes away it takes awhile for the negative tide to go out to sea and the positive tide to come in and cleanse. That's probably just me. All this weird stuff I write here is correcting in real time my original thought which would have been, "You must have been so happy walking out of the Microsoft Store. It must have been a joyous ride home"
Perhaps I'm doing some kind of empathic projection here, but my Tablet wouldn't boot up a few minutes ago causing anxiety. Now that I was successful in booting in up... it's going to take me about an hour to reboot / factory reset my mood.
YOU ARE SUCH A LOVELY PERSON. I so much this appreciate this video. ♥️🙏👍🌄

    This is interesting!
I have experienced this a many times with my Surface Pro and the process of waking it up is the funniest and weirdest experience I have had so far in my life!
***Waking up a "DEAD" Microsoft Surface Pro 3! - Deep freezing!!***
I found this info online (can't remember the site now) and I CAN CONFIRM that on more than four occasions, it has never failed. I literally don't worry every time my SP3 doesn't wake up. I am rather more interested in why it just plain refuses to wake up and most normal resuscitation methods fail!
    PROCEDURE:
    1. Get a cellophane paper (plastic bag ) and wrap it around your SP3. Be sure it won't allow water to get inside!
    2. Drop the wrapped SP3 in the freezer (yes freezer!) and leave it for 1 to 2 hours to freeze (I normally do just over an hour)
    3. Retrieve your "frozen" device and set it down to cool for about 30 to 45mins (wipe off any condensation you may notice)
    4. After this time, proceed to turn on the device and you will most likely be pleasantly surprised!
IMPORTANT: I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY BROKEN OR DAMAGED DEVICE FOLLOWING THIS PROCEDURE! I SAW IT, I TRIED IT, AND IT WORKED FOR ME (EVERY TIME). IF YOU HAVE GOT THE HEART TO DO THE CRAZY LIKE I HAD, YOU MAY GO AHEAD BUT BASED ON MY RESULTS, I SUPPOSE IT COULD WORK FOR YOU.
You can do more findings online about this method. If anyone tries this and it works for them, you can also confirm it here.

You have to do cpr because the battery connections where not making good contact with the board. They have special spacers in the tablet that also may shift. These special spacers help the board make good contact with the battery. The contacts are also compression contacts and need to be seated properly. The only way to fix it permanently fix, is to take out the display screen and re-seat everything . The only problem is it is very easy to crack the display when doing this . Do a few compressions and that usually works. Hope this helps.

I gave it the 15 compressions on the back and it turned on again. I cant believe this actually worked. Thank you!

Wow... that's just AMAZING.. IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM. Thank you so much for sharing.
It's literally the best video in this year for me and a New Year gift. I have tried freezing, to no avail. I have charged and charged with several chargers thinking the battery charging circuit had died. I even thought maybe the battery itself had packed-up since none of the 2-button resets worked.
I tried to send mine in for repairs with Microsoft and since there isn't a store in the UK, it was going to set me back a whopping £500 for an after warranty repairs or replacement. I was also close to throwing in the towel altogether and buying the new Surface Pro 6 as a personal New Year gift (I might still do that, if I can convince my boss). This morning I just thought to do one more search about dead surface pro 3 and voila!
    Many Thanks Again.
