Pressed down on the screen, and felt clicking around the front camera. Didn't turn on initially when I let go to press the power button. However, 2nd time I held it down where it clicked while holding the power button VOILA! Thank you for sharing this ingenious method of fixing a hardware issue without having to open up the hardware, great job!
Unbelievable, but the third method actually worked for a Surface Pro 8! Screen was not completely black, you saw that it was on, with some white stripes flickering over it, but nearly comletely greyish black. I pressed with a towl and two fingers the display down and it clicked on one side a little bit. After that it works again and the screen turns on normally!
To be honest, I didn't expect this to work. I think someone needs to be careful, not to press down to hard, as there is the possibility to crack the display.
Nice video and thanks!
This is a great video. straight to the point and fixes the problem 👍👍
by pressing screen for 10 seconds and it did work for me. For two days tried many different things did not work. But your idea in 10 sec I was up and running. Great work
Thank you so much!! I have the Surface Pro X, did not want to turn on, but with your video with the first option was fixed. Thank you so much for your help!!
Thank you! I used my work laptop charger and it works! You are amazing!
You are a life saver. Putting it in the freezer was the only thing that worked! Thank you!
do you have to put it in the freezer every time you want to start it?
Same problem here, but unfortunately I have bad news, it is a hardware issue, the microswich inside the tablet is the culprit. There's a microswich inside the tablet that fails because of the battery swallowing in time, that's why while it's warm, it won't start, if putting in the freezer does the trick... There you go... Cold contracts and 1 micron it's enough to change the behavior. Unfortunately, even if you fix it... It's temporary, until the battery swallows a little more again
Thank you soo much pressing on the screen worked for me. Back to a productive Sunday! 🙏
Lifesaver 🎉the first technique worked for me 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Dude thank you. I got to step three and started pressing all over being skeptical. I heard a pop and did what you said and it worked!! Thanks
Thank you so much for this information , its very useful for me and my boss appreciated after solving his surface pro Issue. 💯💯🙌🙌
Pressing in the corners helped me to wake up the screen. Thank you mate. Big help... 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you. The last tip with display works.
My old Surface Pro 2 run after 2 years again. 👍
Thanks this worked. Looks like it was finishing some type of update when it turned back on...👍
Thank you for your help. I went to fix my surface with geek Squad and they said I have to get a new one because, my warranty was expired. I saw your video and did option 3. Now my surface is working again. Thanks again.
you are a real life saver... thanks man
I am truly thankful. The freezer method worked!
Thank you so much! The first technique that actually worked for me.
Thank you for your help. Much appreciated.
Thanks! I just started having this on my Surface Pro 7 after two years. I also get a thin dull white line at the bottom of the screen. I will try the press method to see if this restores it and maybe removes the line.
Have you had anymore issues? I ask because I just purchased a SP7. I also own a SP4 that for the most part, has been working great since I bought it about 3 years ago
WOW you are the man, I had tried everything from other sites with no luck my surface pro has been dead for weeks. I just triad your number 3 tip pressed all over and bang she's on and alive. Great work thanks for sharing mate 👍
the pressing down the corners techqnique worked! thank you so much!
Worked after I pressed down (trjed all the others multiple time 😅). No idea if that's what helped. But I'll take it! Thank you!
The only thing that worked for me was putting it in the freezer. I never would have thought of doing that, but it worked. Thanks so much! 👍
It actually worked!! You just saved me big time
The gentle whack method worked. Thank you.
My jaw is still open because I just tried the third method - pressing the screen and ... it worked! I was pressing the whole screen at first quite gently, then repeated it using more force, and the repeated again, and then it just turned on on its own (must have been awaken after I used the second method - pressing the power button for 30 seconds). I was very sceptical at first when I saw the part of the video showing the third and the forth option, but then I thought: what do I have to loose?
THANK YOU!!!
Pushing on the back top fixed my issue, thank you so much!
Amazing. Thank you!
You are awesome brother! Ty for helping me fix this!
Helpful solution’s 👍
The pressing on front of the screen worked for me. Thank you
Great stuff! My issue ended up being a faulty charging cable (white light blinked on and off repeatedly when connected to Surface).
Dam.... I think this is my issue also
Thank you for your valuable information
Thanks that was helpful and worked for me👍👍
Putting it in the freezer work, but if i shut it down it returns to black screen, so I have to put it back again in the freezer every time it turns off. I don’t know what to do

Hoping this works today when I get off work. Been trying to get it on for 2 days
I wasn’t able to remove my screen, but I held down the power button until the windows logo appeared. Bless you!

The rubbing across the screen worked for me! I had tried the first 2 methods repeatedly over a couple days and had almost given up hope, until I found this video. Thanks!
Sammmmmme kept hearing clicking to my surface pro 8 scared me for a second
Mine too. For a moment I thought I had lost it
He is a genius!!
I fixed it with 3rd way 🎉
The 3rd solution worked for my Surface Pro 3. I couldn't believe the solution would be pressing the screen but it worked and I laughed so hard at such an unthinkable solution but it worked omg hahahhahah Thanks for the video :D
What a bizarre technique, but what did I have to lose? Worked for me, too.
Thank you so much!

Thank you brother
Not sure if you can msg me at some point but my 7+ just began having this issue. A week ago I was putting it through the ringer of stamina and doing some standard document work plus running Discord for a video conference. The battery died (or at least it shut down just before it did) so I called my day there, went home, plugged it in over night. I didn't need it for a few days but I went to start it up and I DO get the windows logo, and then the screen goes black and nothing happens. Tried all these attempts and about to try a second run through of them but it's weirding me out that it just... kinda wants to start but won't. I am going to try (as soon as I have time) to make a USB recovery to factory reset the tablet. But basically it just pops up the windows logo then I get a black screen and nothing happens. I've let it sit for roughly 15 minutes and I've done hard-resets multiple times now after letting it sit for longer but still does the same. I'm guessing I need to send it in for repairs if it's consistently giving me this problem. Tried both Vol+ and Vol-
I have the same problem, have you found a solution?
@@evagagosz-faure5915 local tech friend checked everything and said it seems like it thinks the battery is dead when it's not so probably need to send it in for repairs.
I tried the freezer suggestion and it surprisingly turned back on. I'll admit I was skeptical about this technique.
Thank you!
It worked for me. I appreciate.
Thanks so much!!
Thanks 🙏🏼
You helped me from failing an exam thank you sir
My guy glooks for the vaild video. I appreciate you
My surface does not turn on, I connected it to 2 different chargers, it heats up at the top cornet, but it does not turn on and the blue charging light on the charger does not light up either. Help me please.
Thank you 🙏🏻 I WAS SOO scared
Is the charger light going on and off? Or does it stay on??
Thanks a lot 🙏
Thank you for the video. Not sure which method worked but it turned on. I know the charging cable wasn't working I plugged it into USB C port and it started to charge and turned on. It was at 76% so I am still not sure why it wouldn't turn on. I even stuck it in the freezer. Any way Thank you very much.
What do I do if the logo pops up but the screen still shuts off?
Tanks
Thanks a lot
Thanks! Maybe these things aren't as good as I hoped
Thanks worked
You just saved my job, I had reports to file and my manager was looking over with a frown.
Thank you so much bro
saved my day! 🙏
Thank you..
Was the charger for me thanks boss man
Thank u so much
Omg!! Life saver!
Thank you Bro🫂❤
Hi I got a black screen just a few hours after taking it out of the box. I did the reboot of holding the button and it worked. Should I return it and get a new one? Am I likely to continue having this issue?
Most likely u won’t experience this again unless u have a loose connection inside. If I was u and just got the surface pro and this happened I would just play with it another week and if all good I’d just keep it no worries.
Hello, I have a problem with the surface pro x screen, as the touch does not respond. Is there a solution? Thank you
Thanks man
Thanks bro
شكرا الطريقة الثالثة نجحت معي
2:29 it worked 😮😅!! Press press press keep pressing all over 😅 😮 ❤ thank u so much 😊 she’s up n running
Did not work for. And putting my table inside the freezer was a very bad idea. I just new after applying your advice. Right now I surely know my tablet is broken because of you. Guys please never put your tablet inside of any freezer for any amount of time.
Love u thanks
