One thing that might well drive you crazy about this hike is: "FALSE SUMMITS!" Several times along the way, you'll encounter a "peak" and feel that you've finally "arrived." Only to encounter another one. However, if you persevere, you WILL finally encounter: "THE wooden sign!" It's well worth it.

Agreed. I climbed Humphreys Peak twice in my younger days and the false peaks really faked me out.
