It's better than S21FE because in low light S21FE also uses the Main Lens and crops in, whereas with Gcam mod you can force use it with night sight. I'm trying to find Gcam mod for Exynos S21FE but failed till now.

The gcam is good but the colors are too saturated for my liking and the processing can be harsh on the skin when using portrait mode. Do you recommend another gcam version or another XML file maybe? Thanks for the video though it's a really good content.
I don't have yet. Personally I find it to be good. Atleast the details are greatly preserved. The main camera is oversaturated, I only use the 3x zoom which I find to have acceptable saturation, like I showed in the video, may be because we have brown skin over here. If it's too much we can dial down the colors but we can't add details which is the biggest disadvantage with stock cam 3x zoom in mixed lighting and low lighting.
The skin colors seem good but especially the green colors (leaves, grass etc.) seem very oversaturated with gcam. I'd like to have the details of gcam and the colors of the stock cam...
@@christophm8021 it's actually possible to tune it.. but I'm not an expert in understanding the xml config properly. For now you may use something like Lightroom to lower the vibrance of certain colors.

I just went out the other day and shot some gorgeous low light images. So I'm not sure what "significant" downgrade has happened as my photos are still looking amazing. As for you go back to whatever firmware version you "feel" like by downloading the firmware from 3rd party sites and flashing via ODIN.

Yes it's working, of course. Look at the image comparison and also look at the lightroom metadata.. gcam is using original 3x f2.4 aperture vs stock using f1.8 which is not possible with 3x zoom. Try it yourself. Install gcam mod, select 3x zoom, and put finger on the 3x lens and you'll see the view finder go black.
By doing changes on the xml file, which is complicated. I think only main cam/ultra wide cam is over saturated while 3x is fine. But if you feel it's oversaturated, just take a min to drop the saturation in the gallery photo editor.
Personally I went with the S20 FE because of the greater compatibility and efficiency of Snapdragon 865. For example here you can see I'm able to use Gcam mod. I also have videos on Playstation 2 emulation performance on the S20 FE 5G, which is much better than Exynos. Using it since March and will continue till any worthy upgrade will be available. I don't have interest in any other phone after buying this.
Yea I agree. But stock camera is better for pics and videos from main and ultra wide sensors. But for 3x zoom, Gcam is much better, pics, portrait mode and also videos. Also in Gcam you can shoot raw from 3x zoom and also lock auto focus to near/far/infinity!

I changed the Google whitebalance to off to fix the oversaturation but the widelens night sight turns out noisy pink unless I use the Google whitebalance

Don't worry. Gcam still works perfectly on Android 13 One UI 5. I've shown it in my One UI 5video. Also Android 13 OneUI 5 has the same binary, so can downgrade via ODIN.
@@rhlparkr slow motion works, dig into the settings and set it up. But why use slow motion? Just shoot 60fps in stock cam and slow it in post or use stock 240fps slow mo. Slow mo on smartphones sucks anyways. Only few smartphones like S21/S22 series allow full real 120fps (like my Sony A6100) in pro mode with full quality. Rest, front, back main, 3x, portrait mode works, night sight and astro works on all lenses. 4k on 3x doesn't work. So this gcam mod is great at doing something that the stock cam fails to do i.e 3x portraits and good 3x low light photos. Rest of the things depend on the user's preferences. I use Gcam for 3x lens mainly and rest of my time is spent with pro video mode on stock cam/main lens photos.
I have the S20 FE 5G since last 7 months and my friend bought the S21FE 5G. Both have strengths and weaknesses. S21FE's biggest strength is updates upto Android 16, so you gotta decide. Battery life is worse than S20FE by a bit but Display and design is much better. I play emulation games which means S21FE is a no go for me, due to Exynos. Adreno is king for emulation. No Gcam mod for S21FE.

And Samsung customer support said wrong, as S20 FE 5G launched with Android 10 all over the world, just because it came to India with Android 11 out of the box, doesn't mean it'll be updated to Android 14. I'm not a salesman, just stating facts so that buyers aren't confused. S20FE is a good phone obviously, I'm satisfied and will continue using it until a worthy upgrade is available.
I have tested it in multiple s20 FE phones, mine and my friends as well. It definitely woks for sure. Are you using S20FE or S21FE? Just install the apk, give usual permissions and then just select the xml config, that's all!

It's a bit difficult to get a stable gcam variant for Exynos S21FE. It's one of the reason I favor the S20FE 5G over S21FE.
