Oliver Kahn is legend.. He would be declared the best GK in the history if Germany won World Cup 2002. He alomost single handlely won the WC 2002 . In our childhood we always wanted to be GK like Oliver Kahn.. Neuer is modern day Legend ..

I watched Oliver play brazil in the 2002 WC final, my family supported brazil but for some reason ollies command of the goal never left my memory. I was a little kid but I could tell he was special. Now as an adult seeing Neuer win the WC with Germany I appreciate everything he's done. Two different legends, two different eras.
This! Although not supporting Brazil but he had a presence and personality. It was a joy to watch him because he'd make great saves.

Neuer is fantastic goalkeeper with great sweeper abilities, however Kahn's reflex on the line was from another dimension, and that is more important so in my opinion Kahn was best ever.

During Kahn's era I was a FCB hater, but I always respected Kahn and in my eyes he was second only to Peter Schmeichel in the 90s, but in the early 2000s he was my number 1 goalie. Never cheered for him, but always respected him.

Both are best and at no. 1. It will be wrong to choose the better one. Kahn conceded one of the best goals on the other hand Neuer conceded 6 goals against Spain.
I want Neuer vs. Kahn vs. Casillas vs. Buffon vs. Banks. All of them are unique. Most people would think that the competition between the first three would be tight. But look at Buffon's longevity and consistency. And Banks was legendary too. Perhaps one of the best of the old times if not the best. His career was cut short by an accident that damaged one of his eyes.

Kahn was always more entertaining, but I think Neuer is the more technically sound and capable between the two. They are my definite two favorite goaltenders.
I became a goalkeeper because of the Neuer performance in the 2014 World Cup, I don't regret that decision!

Impossible to compare different eras. I was certain That I would never see anything as good when I was a boy. Gerd Müller, Káiser Franz, and Johan Cruyff. Then I saw Maradona and Kahn. Now we have been blessed with Ronaldo, Messi, Buffon and Neuer. So many footballers from Pele to Lewandowski... From Yashin to Haaland .... where there are two people or more and a pint or two ... the discussion of the “best ever” will be discussed. And in my opinion will never be resolved.
