here you can see how the series slowly went from Horror to action lol
with the change being re5 on
re4 was a mix of the two
I prefer horror...
I want a mix of both, with a slight dose of action more.
re6 is sort of horror again
Wesker never dies, when he does he dont.
It's true there probably going to make another story how he survived the lava and rocket launcher at RE7 like how ada magically survived in RE2

ThePSNOfficial Yes i saw how she survived, but what i mean't was she wasn't supposed to survive after dying already because she got hit and leon saw it his two eyes that she died. or else leon would've rescued her if she was just unconcious.

Two things I want from this franchise: An RE2 remake with the 3rd person style, but with the exact same level layout/story etc. And a general reboot with local co op using Chris and Jill as partners, and where zombies are the main bad guys again.

+UziNineMillomeetah I would love to see every RE game in both styles, original and 3rd-person. In fact after enjoying 1st-person mode in Code Veronica, I'd like to see all the games in all three different styles =)
CV is absolutely horrific in 1st person view, at least it was back when Dreamcast visuals were top notch.

In my opinion Leon and Clair are the more involved characters.
To back this up just a short critical fact.
Leon and Clair were both at the center of the iconic Raccoon City outbreak and have gone after Umbrella trying to take them down.
Chris while seeming to after Bio Terrorists was really after Wesker as in RE5 you pick up he never really thought Wesker was actually dead.
Summery: Leon & Clair went after the main problem Chris was pursuing a personal vendetta.

blitzstrk And with Wesker dead he goes after Ada who killed his men. Chris always has a personal stake in things. Leon & Claire are concerned for the entire world. Leon always tries to rescue civilians Chris always focusses on the orders given and the mission. Which he's abandoned on multiple occasions once again to peruse a personal target.
It's in his bio Chris has always been a hot head going after personal matters and placing them before everything else. Its the reason he was dropped from the Air Force.
blitzstrk Yes but still he put himself and the rest of the squad in danger searching for revenge. While at the beginning Chris appears level headed he flies off the handle easily. Any military personnel will tell you going in with a hot head may as well be suicide.

blitzstrk Well that was due to his memory loss. But yes RE6 was bad even with Leon's champagne being the only worth while, Chris's being basically a generic 3rd person shooter, Jake's being at the very least fun and a nostalgic twist to showcase that Wesker lives on and Sherry still playing a role in the story, and Ada just to fill in the gaps of the other 3 with the most anti-climactic ending in gaming history with more questions than answers.
If Resident Evil is to make a come back I say go back to RE4's formula minus the escort mission.
Besides that one minor factor Resident Evil 4 had the perfect blend of survival horror, suspense, action, exploration, puzzle solving and story telling.
By far Resident Evil 4 had to be the best it was the game at its peak and then it came crashing down.
I want wesker to come back in RE7. Am I a bad person because of that? Wesker is one of my all time favorite video game antagonists. And naturally I was pissed when he died in 5. I mean I'm so pissed that I have fan fictions of wesker coming back in 7 and Leon and Chris have to team up to beat him. Oooohhhhh that would be awesome.

So many stuff got left out.
He said resident evil in 5 minutes (sort of). So of course he isn't going to talk about everything.
I know dude. But they almost completely skiped RE-zero. (I can forgive that) There was no mention of Barry Burton. Also thethey omited that Willian and Wasker were working together before William was shot by unbrella operatives, who came to steal the virus, which is the reason why the injected himself with the virus out of desperation. He also didn't mention Steve was injected with the Veronica virus and died. There was also no mention of Alexia. Now I'm aware that I'm probably nitpicking but most of these details matter.

*note , its not only jill and chris that survived the mansion incident. Rebecca and Barry made it also to the chopper while Brad , the pilot , did survive it was later one revealed that he died in the RPD.

RE5 was not so bad, I enjoyed it quite a lot actually... RE6? That's a complete piece of unplayable garbage.
I didn't think so. I thought 6 was really fun.

RE5 was garbage. re6 was garbage, BUT at least it was fun to play because of the shitty voice acting and rediculous cutscenes.

I recommend playing the Nintendo Wii RE: Chronicles Saga (Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles, specially the first one) It gives you a well made recap, good reimagined graphics (cutscenes) and a different way to play Resident Evil games in one shot. Where's Revelations? It supposedly ties RE4 and RE5 together
It doesnt really tie them together at all. Nothing in the game has any mention of either game until the ending with the mansion at the start of 5.

He did. When the Bravo team is sent in first, the only one to come out alive is Rebecca Chambers. That's the part about RE0. Bravo team goes in, they die, Rebecca makes it and 0 ends when she finds Chris. The next part about the Alpha team being sent in to recover the Bravo team is the plot for RE1.
That was a great refresher. It's been a while since I played the older RE.
If i worked for umbrella i would be the person who closed up loose ends.

oh, i mean the games are pretty old like from the late 90s and early 2000's. and yeah the story line does remind me of a washed up 80s movie plot but regardless of that the games are good !

They forgot all about Resident Evil Survivor. In RE Survivor Ark Thompson realizes how convenient it is to send a 12 year old kid to the other side of a zombie invested island to rescue his sister while being limited in time as Ark takes the route invested with zombies. And why didn't he shoot Vincent while he was escaping in the beginning? And who came up with the idea of a self-destruction switch for an ENTIRE island?

My fave RE character would have to be Leon Kennedy, though my fave monster would be the Regenerator. Seriously the first time you encounter that thing (before getting the thermal scope) would send even the most hardened player into a terrifying blind panic.

My favourite RE character is the first zombie in the first RE game right after the dinning room (he scared me for the rest of my childhood).

I was 7 back then. I still remember having horrible nightmares cause of this game. I don't know why people complain, i still love the RE games. The old and the new ones. And the demo for RE 6 was awesome.

Leon S. Kennedy, I've been playing the series since its debut on the PS 1 and when I got to play as Leon in RE2 he became my absolute Fav!
Id say Rebecca Chambers is my favorite because even though she is young and petite she still managed to hold her own in Resident Evil 1 and Zero.

He's not becoming The Joker from Arkham games for the reason that RE was made way before the Arkham games. He "died" 2 times "if you exclude the last one on RE 5) and came back again. Joker died in AC because Mark Hamil said that he won't do Joker again

Leon S.Kennedy, He's a badass and has brains and knows how to use them. Also he is one of only a few characters that is still alive after the Raccoon City T-Virus out break.
It was remade in 2002 for the Gamecube, and RE2 has only had medium-quality ports conducted to it with slight modifications.
Good job IGN, I've always been curious of the Resident Evil story but never bothered because of how old some of the games are. Now that I know a vague bit about the back story I am confident I will purchase RE6.
Ada supposedly died in RE2 but back in RE1 when Wesker was killed by the Tyrant before that he got a sample of the T-Virus from Birkin, after being killed he came back to life and when Ada supposedly died Wesker knew she was of use to him so he saved her. Thats why she is in RE4 and 6, in 6 theres a copy that Simmons created because he wanted the real Ada.

Jill is the best character out of all of them, she was in the original first of all. And she is fearless trying to bring down wesker while Chris and her already know he's way to powerful to be stopped and almost killing herself just to save her partner Chris. She also saves him and gives Sheve and Chris the rocket launchers to finally kill wesker and save the world yet again.

I was pretty sure there was a minor G outbreak as well... Which would explain some of the new creature's in 2. And I'm pretty sure there was a mention of the G in res 5 because Licker's were in it... But I can't be sure I never played it.
i found out umbrella corp was the weird triangle envelope in my room and every time i opend it a new RE game was made...i burned the envelope.

i think the best chaecter is Leon. but yet i find that Ada's story line is amazing considering we dont know alot about her even though she has been in 2 games, plus i saw a brief sight of her in the RE 6 demo so i guess we will be seeing more of her.

Saddler came to the village in 4, him and the villagers dug up a old parasitic organ a.k.a. Las Plagas. Ada was sent in to retrieve a Plagas sample which she gave to a company that would later become Tricell a company that came in RE5. And the copy question is simple. Simmons created a being that looked like Ada which her real name was Carla and yes the copy is only in 6.

no. there are multiple endings to resident evil 1. There is one true ending but a handful of other alternate endings can happen. one were Barry dies. one where Rebecca dies. one where Chris is never found. one where only Jill and Chris live. and one where all 4 of them live.
There's also a lot of explosions at the end of the games that supposedly are the end of it all.
i was 9 when i played the first game...Now i'm 23 yo and still loving it and going to play the 6th game! :D
