Maybe our spirit is pure consciousness. Once a living creature dies, it’s spirit (i.e. local/concentrated consciousness) goes back to the original fabric of broader, universal consciousness that’s subtly all around us… only to later be concentrated to a local consciousness once again with a new life form. I hope you are at peace.
How wonderful that your cat was so loved. This means she loved you also. Everything, I hear, lives always in love. It ever dies. May we experience that fact. Bless you and it is a HUGE loss!
Need to quit being thinking about it. Being so ''intellectual'' about everything. Man it's not easy to decondition the bullshit we were taught. Thank you John. .
I’m still lost to the reason for suffering. Heaven and eternal life only assures me life goes on, it doesn’t give meaning or purpose to the suffering here. We could still have eternal life if there was no suffering. It just seems to be a reality of this world. Suffering only gains meaning if we give it meaning, like when it’s in sacrifice for something that you couldn’t get any other way.
Suffering, it is the reality of this world as you said. No matter how you mature or transcend the world is as it is. There is suffering and in the world there will always be tribulation. A Great Spirit made that statement long long ago. Keep questioning.
What can we do when we see suffering? The only this we can do is to not participate in it. When we see animals suffer, don’t be part of their suffering. Like John says, you are the reason for their suffering and killing. So stop being the reason. Don’t eat meat. Eat something that suffers less from your need to live. Yes, we all realize that animals get hurt from the production of vegetables and grains. Like John also has said, you can’t even take a step or even breathe without killing. And yes, someone else will the reason for animals’ slaughter, but at least your concience is clear in this particular matter. Again, to the best of your ability. Can’t do any more than that.
I am grateful for the Wisdom that you share, John. 🙏🏼 I also want to bring to your attention that it's not just the death of these animals that is sad, but more importantly, the way they are raised: calves being separated from their mothers so we have milk, hens being confined in small or crowded spaces on a daily basis, etc. Yes, we DO need to eat, and we can do so without supporting this cruelty. We can be vegan AND we can pray compassionately for the suffering of earthlings. With the option of eating only plants, each of us has the power to practically reduce this suffering a bit.
Not eating meat and going fully plant-based to not abuse animals, as we (in the western societies especially) can have a very healthy diet without it, should be a natural choice for a compassionate person. The fact that others don't make this choice, could not in any way give me the permission to contribute to this horror for animals.
What about the plants? They are consciousness too. Life eats life. You cannot escape death. in essence they are the same happening as you yourself, the plants you kill and eat. I know plants have beings inside of them, because I have let them into my mind. They have old souls. wise far beyond humanities wisdom. But humans don't recognize them as being conscious because they are so alien to us, and they communicate so differently.. In essence there is no seperation between you and the plants, and between plants and animals.. We are pure energy, all one happening. I (me /you /them.. all the same one in different forms which cling to itself.) am perpetually balancing life and death. Eating myself and killing myself. You think I'm real? You think you're real? You think we are not the same consciousness? We are just the one playing tricks on itself. We learn from contrast and suffering must be. The cycle of the one who split itself to create the dimensions and life will end with everything coming back together. And then start again. None of this matters, but of course, everything does matter.
