Disney has very strict rules when it comes to other shows using Mickey. This isn’t the only show that wanted to used Mickey but was prohibited, look at the DuckTales reboot.
Maybe they thought it'd be funnier? I don't know, there were a bunch of stupid excuses for stuff like this. It's not like they're even trying to pretend it for some reason ISN'T Mickey either.

It's funny that they refer mickey in bonkers as "The Mouse" without mentioning his name.
Maybe it’s cause bonkers isn’t technically apart of Disney in the show or something idk 🤨
Okay what stupid Disney executive thought it was a good idea to conceal Mickey's first name and image throughout this episode?!
No clue.

Amazing Video When Bonkers Meet Mickey Mouse.
I Wished They Could Show The Real Mickey Mouse On Screen In This Episode.
Too bad Disney couldn't get the rights to actually show Mickey or even call him by name.
Wait a minute…
Why doesn't he appear on camera?
I mean...Disney, you own the character. He's your freaking mascot!
Apparently Disney has the rule where they can’t use Mickey Mouse in these kinds of things
It’s like Darkwing Duck with the Donald Duck disguise you can’t show the actual character or it takes the attention away
@@thefuture4527 that's what i hate about Disney nowadays
Bonkers talking to the Famous Toon Mouse Mickey Mouse.
And We Thought Postman Pat Didn't Appear on Guess With Jess...

Roger rabbit came out in 1988. Bonkers was released in 1993.
