This is so annoying that I have to purchase an additional mount for my helmet. I went to put it on, and it doesn’t mount. I didn’t see anywhere where this was openly listed when purchasing.
I totally agree, just got mine and I can’t mount it. Not good service on their part. If I’m on their website for the light only and I know it’s coming with a mount included, I have no reason to look at their other products to know there’s a different mount for my model of shoei. Now I have to place an order and wait. I know this is a first world problem but still……….annoying

@@BrakeFreea nice option would be the ability to select the mount you need included when purchasing the light, rather than shipping them all with the standard mount and requiring an additional purchase. It would make the entry cost equal regardless of helmet and that’s one less piece of plastic going into a drawer or the trash and being wasted.
@@MAHAR4J4 Hey there, the K6S has a slightly lower spoiler, but there is sufficient room for the Brake Free light. The kit comes with 2 different mounts, one 'standard' which is almost a flush fit, and one that's XL which will push the mounting back a little away from the helmet to provide a bit more clearance.
@brakefree Never had a reply from . EU branch. I wanted to know if the shoei mount would fit my Nexx X-WED 2. I've got mounts fitted to my other helmets, just not this one 😢
Sorry to hear that. the Nexx X-WED 2 if my memory serves me right has a challenging geometry on the back. I believe it has a ridge down the middle and a scalloped curvature where the mount would go. I think the best solution for that helmet would be to use a product called SUGRU. It's a moldable adhesive. I would recommend you remove the adhesive backing on one of our mounts (the XL mount), clean up the surface with an alcohol wipe, and mold the SUGRU adhesive to fit the unique design of your helmet. If you need additional help on this, drop us an email to support@brakefreetech.com
The universal mount is the one you would use 90% of the time. The XL mount is used if you have a helmet that's 3XL or larger, have a flat curve on the back of the helmet - such as Ruroc Atlas, or if there are design features that require more clearance to attach Brake Free, such as Sedici Strada 2 helmet. We have yet another mount specific to Shoei RF1400 helmet which is intended for just the RF1400 model.
At 3:28 there's a close-up and explanation of where we suggest to attach the mount and at 4:50 you can see where the mount ends up. Please drop us an email at support@brakefreetech.com and we can send some more detailed pictures of the mount location on the RF1400.
I mounted the RF 1400 break free mount higher than what you’re showing on this video. It’s on there pretty sturdy, and when I attach the actual break free light, it feels heavy and makes my helmet tilt up in the front. I’m wondering based on what I could see in this video I should have lowered the sticky mount where You can almost see only the HOE (Shoei) because the way I have it now it almost covers the top of those letters. And I’m wondering is that why it makes the helmet tilt up forward because maybe the mount is not in the right concave area? Please advise
@themotorcyclemaiden9162 hey there, happy to help. Drop us an email to support@brakefreetech.com with pictures of what your install looks like and we'll do our best to make sure you're happy. Thanks!
Yeah, the "closeup" isn't real close and slightly out of focus. At 4:50, you really can't see with any clarity where it ended up, he's moving the helmet too fast and when I pause the video it's super blurry. Also, my helmet doesn't have the Shoei decal at the back like that helmet in the video, just the DOT sticker. I'll be sending you an email for better pictures, but you should replace this video with something a bit more helpful.
FYI FOR ANYONE TRYING TO INSTALL THIS ON THEIR RF1400. The instructions he gave are slightly inaccurate. Please PLEASE move the mount so it lines up with the top line of the SHOEI emblem and clears the top of the DOT sticker. I tried following the instructions as given and the brake free would literally just rub against the helmet and pop off… now I’m afraid of how durable the adhesive is.
@rockyhernandez6507 there are 2 round indicator lights on either side of the top center light panel. While charging, they pulse on and off. When fully charged they glow solid without pulsing. Hope that helps.

How do we know which mount to use (there's a thin one and thicker one)?
