OH LOOK! I guess Lego CAN make smaller 18+ sets that go in line with the wave. Now there is no excuse for a smaller Lego Daredevil set. Also, I think I need to more room for a Lego raceway.
Gambling ain't that bad c'mon, when I was a kid we had toy f1 cars with marlboro and camel on the rear spoilers, it was cool how authentic they were to the real cars, I'm glad companies are still doing this.
The 'Minifig' series not being the drivers seems like a real missed oppourtunity for Lego. Not sure about the licensing obviously but it would have been an easy set for them to produce - 20 figures, 10 bodies (since their race suits are the same per team), put the money into unique helmet printing as accessories and throw in a hair piece that's already been made that vaguely resembles their usual hair and you're done. With all the cars being available fans would absolutely look to replace the generic figs with the proper drivers, and you'd probably get people buying doubles so they could have a Ferrari Lewis for 2025 as well as Mercedes Lewis. Even fans who might not want to buy the cars would probably impulse buy a couple of figs for the hell of it.
Yo a kick/stake car is wild indeed. Wonder how the setup works. They pay the F1 brand to use their license no? But do LEGO get paid for the ads on the car or they have to pay for the ads on the car.
You know what theme the Lego City sets are reminding of? Lego Cars 2. Pit stops, trailers, finish lines, it’s very similar. I love that Lego went “ok let’s just do 18+ Speed Champions” No real change to the packaging even- they just made it a tiny bit more like the Adults Welcome box but they kept the logos and design and Speed Champions logo- I like it! Kind of wish there was this kind of merger design with Star Wars and Marvel D2Cs!
@@H80. ik im not reffering to stake, the whole stake thing is another thing. its just kick is pretty much only known for harboring a lot of content that lego wouldnt want to touch with a 20ft poll. whether its the websites extremely tame punishments or just strait up crimes being streamed there that only get removed when the internet screams at them, and this being a KIDS toy too just really baffles me they thought it was smart. ig we'll have to see if they actually get pushback or if nobody cares at all.
This seems like such an extremely niche thing for Lego to go all-in with. Like, a few Speed Champions sets would've sufficed, but I can't imagine there being that big of a market for F1 CMFs, City, and Duplo sets... Feel like these will be shelf-warmers for a long time
F1 is quite popular around the world imo, Lego clearly must’ve seen that when they signed on to make Kick and RedBull into actual products. Even if not all the cars will sell out, that Ferrari will be flying off the shelves and kids will love those 4$ “mystery cars”. If space wasn’t a failure this year, F1 certainly won’t either lol
Personally not an F1 fan, but I can totally see the appeal. I think these look awesome, and the CMF series with cars will entice new customers that couldn't care less about figures. They're not for me, and that's fine. There's already way more stuff that is "for me" than I can buy anyway.
Big F1 fan here. The Speed Champions look great, and I think you were a little unfair saying they look identical. From the promo photos it looks like they’ve made efforts to recreate the unique look of each car, with differently shaped wings and intakes. That said, I am SUPER disappointed with the “CMF” wave. What utter garbage. I thought we might get minifigs of the drivers, maybe with approximations of their unique helmet designs. These awful looking cars are a mess, and definitely not worth missing out on a whole wave of legit minifigs
For someone who likes the aethetic of the cars but isn't a fan per se, i think they all look like the exact same car but recolored. Like I would just get the 2 or 3 of the cats I like the color of the most
I have bought all speed champions cars for the past 6 years. I think I am done now. I cannot justify spending $270 on 10 different cars that are all very similar. Even though the builds all look unique, the end product is not sufficiently different to be interesting. I have a feeling that in a year these will be 50% off.
I don't normally double comment but even as a mainly mini figure collector, I've bought $100+ sets just for figures, who also doesn't even like F1 I think "the precious spot of a minifigure set" is... kind of a crazy over exaggeration tbh The build, while it's the same for each figure, is pretty cool. The helmet piece looks new. This opens the door for more figures to come with full minibuilds in the future at this price point, like really the minifigure collections becoming a more elaborate version of Polybags could be DOPE be honest there and on top of all of that the year is ending with a SPIDERVERSE Minifig collection, something that surely wasn't cheap for lego and I'm sure most of us never ever thought we'd get This series isn't the end of the world and it's not the end of minifig series man, again this is as a MINIFIG COLLECTOR WHO DOESN'T EVEN LIKE F1
i'm really happy to see that the 6 wide cars are moving to city instead of speed champions, which is great for people who still want 6 wide stuff like me. lego foreshadowed this before these leaks with set 60415 which features a larger wheelbase than normal city cars so therefore it's a lot more similar to speed champions.
It would have made more sense to have the cmf be the drivers with full printing of the different brands. But maybe that would face the same 18+ problem for some of them?
Nice to see some more F1 representation in Lego! Might pick up a few of the City sets and a handful of the Speed Champions and Micro racers honestly I might pick some of those up just to stock up on some of those minifig helmets:3 maybe in a year or 2 we could see something similar to this with NASCAR or something IDK just a thought
This feels like the Wicked movie sets. A paid advertising deal between F1 and Lego to promote the product. Even if these sets do not sell I still think Lego will be a big winner in the backend deals. There is a LOT of advertising built into each sticker set Does F1 really have this huge of a following to support this many sets? Especially in the states?
Your comment baffles me. What's the difference between Wicked, Avatar, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Marvel or any other brand partnership LEGO has? F1 is no different. There's currently a Grand Prix in LA right now. And LEGO has been making Formula 1 sets since 1975
@@Ashnflash I am just saying I believe that Lego got a really got deal on the F1 Intellectual property compared to what they normally pay Disney for using their IP's. My concern for the Speed Champions is a version of the Brown Bionicle problem. 10 F1 cars, some will fly off the shelves. Red Bull, Williams might be perpetually out of stock. But then you have the least popular and that one will shelf warm. Just like the Brown variant of any Bionicle series hung around on shelves the longest. Red, White and Black gone immediately.
