    So glad to see new 'City' vehicles are being released. My small Lego town uses the standard width road plates so I don't have room for Speed Champions cars 😊

      Agreed. I always thought Speed Champions cars are very nice and detailed, but as a standalone thing, as they feel disproportionate to any Lego City

      @@MinifigJezI made the bug into a feature in my city. I’m not really into cars that much but I liked the Lamborghini Lambo V12, so I only bought that one. It is definitely too big but I put the car into the beach promenade part of my city. That way the story is that it’s driven by a Minifig on its way to the beach to show off, and disregarding the fact that its car is too big for the small promenade roads. He’s clearly stuck in traffic with onlookers looking somewhat annoyed and a lifeguard approaching him to ask him to get the hell out of there. Most people buy these things because they think they’re awesome. I bought it because I think that, while cool, it is indeed not practical and think this is a fun way to show it. 😄

    These look like really good sets. I really like that the ambulance, mountain truck, and lifeguard truck all look like they are designed to fit two minifigs side-by-side, like many of the speed champions cars do. Even as a kid, back in the 80s, it always kind of bothered me that the LEGO cars could only fit one figure, or at most two; one in front, and one sitting behind. The sports car looks good, but I'll probably try to modify it, to make it fit two minifigs as well. The scrapyard set looks really cool as well.

    The scrap yard is a great idea and a great addition for a full and complete city display or diorama.

    I would like to see a new Hospital build to go with the new Ambulance vehicle.
    Also I wonder if LEGO will release a new Passenger Railway Station to replace the one that is retiring? Personally none of the new range, apart from Brick Cross and Hogsmeade, beat the LEGO Railway Station set 2150 from the 9 volt era.

      Yes, I was thinking about modifying the Lifeguard Tower anyway, but with teh new truck, I DEFINITELY need to now!
      The 2150 Train station (and it's Yellow twin) are GREAT stations, I never had either of them.but of all the stations that I have bought these are a few that I think have also been quite good ones:
      - I really like the design of the World City 4513 Grand Central Station.
      - The pillars on the 7997 Train Station from 2007 are nice.
      - 7937 Train Station from 2010 is unique because it has two platforms and a footbridge over, between them. (If I ever put it in a LEGO City, the bridge needs extending so it can cross two tracks!)
      - 60050 Train Station from 2014 is cool coz it has a Lego shop inside!!!!
      - And I know it's not City, but 71044 Disney Train Station is amazing!

    Medical builds have been a lamentable gap in my collection. They don't often put medics on the front of the City comic, do they? Either way, that ambulance is on my wantlist. The functionality reminds me of the annual food truck and recreational vehicle. I've bought a couple of camper vans in sales to mine for bits, and I think I'll have to keep an eye on this ambulance as well.
    Other than that, the scrapyard looks fab, but too rich for my blood. That red sports car, though...I've got that torso in my Pick A Brick basket ready to go, but I think I'll take it out.
    I'm going to be interested to see if any vehicles or builds swap themes between City and Friends. I'm thinking of the supermarket and recycling truck, here. (I'm also hoping to get an Emerson Fittipaldi minidoll in the F1 subtheme, ngl).

    i think that the coast guard truck, ambulance are good but could still use some work and the junkyard makes not really much sense i think that it should be a sports garage but not a junkyard I think that Lego should reconsider looking into junkyards since I think they should use a big baseplate and have mutiple stuff in their and keeping the crusher is fine but make it more bigger as like a large set and for the cars they look more like a speed champions car the red one and does fit in city but I think the new police sets aren't really fitting in and instead of seeing 'City' I see more sports cars, racing cars, or speed champions lookalikes which is I guess is okay but not really enjoy it also the tire that they used to have was Tire 21mm D. x 12mm - Offset Tread Small Wide, Band Around Center of Tread which if I am correct they used in a ton of city sets and other sets I but I wonder when they are going to use those tires again. Also some of these sets feel small and incomplete which I don't hate it but could be a few more pieces to fit the price would be justifiable. Once again for the junkyard it lacking a lot and could be more I saw a moc of a junkyard and I think thats better then the one that Lego is releasing and the one that Lego releasing looks like a race garage but differentiated to a junkyard which looks to good to be a junkyard and barely any ground to but any cars in I think that there should be more cars, a small workshop/garage, junkyard props, the owner of the junkyard's car, fencing/or walls. and to be more little things that really bring it to life and a small camper that acts as a kitchen which in this case is the moc was made by LegoParadise which is a great junkyard he made.

      I think this is meant to be just a car scrap yard. We have them in teh UK, it's just for scrapping cars, people can buy parts off them, until there's not much left and then it gets crushed into a small metal cube! Just like the crusher in this set does. If they had named the set "Car Scrap Yard" it probably would have helped your pre conceptions often set.
      As for buildings instead of cars... June is traditionally more the time they release City Buildings (like the Ice cream shop and the Grocery store) so don't despair yet.

    Lowkey just finished my 1st of 2 stars for a Hoth and your videos make it way less mundane on the other hand glad about the car crusher cus it sucks there isn’t any verity in buildings in general especially since the vehicles wanted by fans are not made like a peel p50 a new 8 wide speed champions Bugatti a ucs nu class star fighter or a warehouse although if the f1 sets are at the established 20$ price point I’m gonna pick them all up day one although the f1 style cars we got for speed champions where mid I’m hoping the theme based around these cars has some better designs

    • @MinifigJez
      @MinifigJez  2 месяца назад

      The Speed Champions sets will always be more detailed than the City sets I'm afraid. So all the new F1 cars in the S.C. theme will look better than the City F1 cars.
      But I imagine the City ones will be a LOT cheaper. and the extras in the City sets look great, like the pit crews, transport truck and parts of race track.
      So S.C. has some benefits, but City has others.

    They finally brought back the openable sunroof! How long has it been, 20 years? Longer?

    • @MinifigJez
      @MinifigJez  2 месяца назад

      YES! I loved the old 4-stud sunroof.
      According to Bricklink, apparently it was in 87 sets, starting in 1986 and ending in 2003… so “20 years? longer?” was a perfect guess!
      Only ever made in black, white, blue, red & yellow:

    I mean my favorite is the ambulance and lifeguard truck but my only problem is with the ambulance and how the wheels and it look like a race ambulance…. I would love to see an ambulance by itself similar to the one we got with the 2022 hospital

    • @MinifigJez
      @MinifigJez  2 месяца назад

      I think you are right with the ambulance with regard to it's wheels, they are definitely "low profile" racing tyres !
      But the actual LOOK of the ambulance I love, because it looks so much more like a UK Ambulance that I'd see every day. The one from the 2022 hospital looked great, but I think it was much more of a U.S. style ambulance, so not something that Id connect to as much. - What do you think?

    • @Rylan_Jones2011
      @Rylan_Jones2011 2 месяца назад +1

      @ I live in the US so I see us style ambulances a lot and the one I see most commonly is a ford super duty ambulance and I would love if Lego did something like that since a lot of Lego fans are American and Lego has done a lot of European ambulances before but the 2022 ambulances was like the first true American looking ambulance but I can see how you would like that

    Is the yellow color on the truck, the new flame yellow color that the new construction excavator uses

    • @MinifigJez
      @MinifigJez  2 месяца назад +1

      The construction excavator was what Lego call "Flame Yellowish Orange" and Bricklink call: "Bright Light Orange" which is the same colour as the Land Rover Defender from last year.
      Aand if you flick between a picture of that: brickset.com/sets/40650-1/Land-Rover-Classic-Defender
      and the Lifeguard Truck: brickset.com/sets/60453-1/Lifeguard-Truck
      I think the Lifeguard truck is more orange than than the excavator and Defender.
      But they are just computer renders, and could easily just look different.

    • @MinifigJez
      @MinifigJez  2 месяца назад +1

      Ive just looked at teh Bricklink colour chart, and I think you're right it HAS to be the same colour as teh Excavator.
      The only colours slightly more orange are:
      1) Light Orange - which was discontinued in 2002
      or
      2) Medium Orange - which was discontinued in 2003
      Then we get to regular Orange, and it's DEFINITELY not that colour!
