Great video! Im in my first playthrough also haven't watched a guide for this game (until now lol) and already beat the dancer and realized i totally missed the whole smoldering lake area lmao
@@AquaSloth well, it could happen to anyone, especially to someone like me, because I'm not an english speaker. So, "Durex Gundyr", "Sister Frieza", "Soul of tinder", "Borat of Boreal Valley", etc. could happen to me anytime, lol
Its interesting that the guide has you take tue smoldering lake that way. The "intended" path that no one takes is to start going towards the door then turn back once the worm appears and then have the floor get hit to reveal the staircase to the ruins. Explore that and you end at the boss gate...but literally no one does that, because why would you?
I, just yesterday, 100%-ed Dark Souls 2 after already doing so for 1 and 3. I will say that I did, in fact, cheat for DS3 by using the cinders mod to farm covenant items, but only for 30 vertebra shackles, 30 sunlight medals, and 30 proofs of concord kept. I don't feel so ashamed considering the ONLY thing I skipped is literally just 40 to 50 to 60, etc. hours of mindless grinding, even with maximum drop rates. besides those specific items, farming wasn't so bad for the other games. DS1 was probably the most tedious what with the titanite grinding, but felt very rewarding. DS3, ignoring those 3 covenants, was probably the most fun, and DS2 definitely did the most toward giving me an all new respect for the game. It was the only one of the 3 that required anything in the DLC for all achievements, and I'm very glad I decided to complete each one. Iron Crown had its frustrations, but also had surprisingly fun moments, and cool bosses (for the most part). Ivory Crown's Eleum loyce, as an area, was the most fun to explore. It felt so much more like a Zelda dungeon. The bosses were fairly lacking apart from the Burnt Ivory King. Thankfully no Loyce soul farming required. I grinded two souls and gave up, lol. Sunken Crown was also surprisingly fun. I had already heard about the switches that you can hit with arrows, once again like a Zelda dungeon, but I was sold when I threw a firebomb through a gap in the circular door and it worked the same. I say to all of you who tolerate DS2, but stayed away from the DLCs, give them a shot! But keep in mind to save 4 smelter wedges for Fume Knight, or else you'll be forced to beat Sir Alonne first in order to prevent Fume Knight from being healed by the edges of the arena. In my opinion, Alonne is a lot harder, but manageable with or without summons, as all bosses are.
I haven’t played DS2 a lot, so the majority of this comment I can’t really speak on (though I do appreciate you writing it), but I can confirm that DS3 was a lot more grinding than 1, at least in my opinion!
this is the first video of yours I've been recommended by RUclips and I just gotta say, real great shit, I find so many "play x game as intended" videos pretty mid but your humor and pacing make it actually entertaining
Thanks man! I agree, I feel like sometimes the “developers intended” videos can be a little too sterile and “go here, then do this, then this, then this, okay we’re done”. This video is definitely my favorite or the 3 I’ve done!
First off. I want to be friends with you (28, dad, for reference hahaha) you just seem so chill and funny. Two. I find it so silly to create a guide for a series all about figuring things out and learning, I understand it. Just seems a little silly. Fantastic video friend

1:57 This is probably well known already but the starting items page calls the Young White Branch a bad pick, but it's the same one that you can get from the giant archer. It's still really only useful once since you can get one from him early on anyway, but it's still a little better than some people might realize.

Not even gonna pretend to take credit for this bc I genuinely had no idea, but apparently that's Black Hand Gotthard outside of Sulyvahn's room according to the wiki. Kamui straight up appears one time and never shows up again lol. Legend
I played DS3 mostly blindly my first time, and I had no idea that Anri and Horace could be summoned for Deacons of the Deep. Heck, I didn’t even know their were NPC summons at all for that boss fight. Was an easy one anyway, but interesting to know.

I am currently knee deep in the DS2 video, and plan on coming back to DS Remastered since the first vid was a little rough around the edges. BB and Sekiro on also on the list, but I have not even remotely started them lmao
@@AquaSloth hell yeah man, can't wait to see all of em! Especially DS2!
I’m very excited to finally have time to watch this
I hope you enjoy/enjoyed it!
@@AquaSloth my knee is sore from slapping it so much my guy!
That dex build with the zweihander was sickkkk
Gotta keep ‘em on their toes
Going through your channel right now, you have a dope personality and nice screen presence !
Also the zoomed in pic of your asshole caught me off guard, 10/10
I’ve never even beat a souls game, idk why I’m here
Hey thanks man! I appreciate the kind words :)
That Mitochondria line was killer!
Ayyee, thank you!
This man’s content is 10/10. The sheer amount of references he put into that script 😚🤌
Haha, I don’t know much about a lot, but I do know a little about a few things. Glad you enjoyed the many obscure and fucking stupid references I made. Appreciate the kind words, and the Elysian pfp!
I actually just finished playing Bloodborne for the first time and replaying Elden Ring last month cause the wait for Elden Ring DLC is driving me crazy. Was looking to play DS3 next since the slower, more punishing designs of 1 and 2 don't interest me. Great video!
Thank you dude! I tried and failed to play Bloodborne, but really want to give it a fair shot since I have literally only heard people sing it’s praise. I am stoked for the Elden Ring DLC, and am right there with you on the wait. Glad you enjoyed it!
No but the way this just made my day! Thank you for uploading! Been so excited for this! 🎉
Thank you for checking it out! Hope you enjoyed it :)
Daddys back. A blessing during these dark times.
We gonna make it, lil homie. Trust
Wait what? I've always said Index Gundyr too. My whole world has been flipped upside down.
I think I said Index on stream once and my whole chat roasted the piss out of me
The two images at the start are indistinguishable
Honestly though??
the jailers will forever be my most hated enemy out of all the games i've ever played
I hate them so much, on top of the area sucking ass too 😭
I bought the Elden Ring guide book right away but not because id follow it. It's just cool to have. It's filled with art and lore.
That’s mainly why I have them too! The walkthrough stuff is just fun for video
the Deep Axe does Dark dmg because you have to be a very deep person to understand how dark my soul is as a sigma male chad, once struck, you get to feel only 0.1% of my pain which for mere mortals is unbearable (it adds 42 dmg per swing).
I am absolutely soaked right now, wowzers. He so strong 😩
The piggy back ride isn't the only way to join you can join after beating the Greatwood
I did not know this prior, but a couple people have mentioned this! I think you have to progress Sirris’s questline??
I don't know who Sirris is I just remember going back to the entrance of the Greatwood's boss fight and when you have an ember there's a sign to go to an NPC's world where you help them kill who I believe is their grandad and then you can join.@@AquaSloth
Holy shit this is the best intro I've ever seen
Hey, glad you enjoyed it!
You are one of the funniest blokes I’ve seen in a bit. I would gladly go hollow with you
Thanks man, I appreciate that! No one dares go hollow on my watch 🫡
"... that everything you face is tough but still fair"
Me: *proceed to have man-serpents stabby stab flashback*
Then boys ain’t no joke!
Algorythm Push.
Doing the LORDS work
I feel happy about the fact that im not the only one who thought it was index gundyr
A few people have confessed to also calling in Index, so we are not alone!
Dude I missed half the video because I was so focused on ID’ing the background music choices. Someone else remembers Bomberman Hero!
Dammit, I was worried about that! I was trying to channel my inner ymfah and pick some boppers. Hope they weren’t too distracting lol
Fun fact I got the hard cover guide with the deluxe edition. It's actually a solid guide, but I also grew up in 1999 so
I think the contents are the same as the soft cover, but yeah it’s a sick guide! The artwork is rad and I really liked the archetypes section where they show some of their builds
Great video! Im in my first playthrough also haven't watched a guide for this game (until now lol) and already beat the dancer and realized i totally missed the whole smoldering lake area lmao
I think I did the same thing on my first time through! I know for a fact that I also missed Untended Graves and Archdragon Peak as well
@@AquaSloth crazy how much there is to these games.
I subbed! Looking forward to more.. you had me rolling!
4:15 ah so that’s why they give you a bow at the entrance to the area
Imma be honest, I didn’t even realize you get the bow before then!
@@AquaSloth there is a bow right at the first bonfire. It’s hidden on a ledge and guarded by a hollow. Was that not in the guide book? 😁
2:56 I just call him Durex Gundyr
Damn, and I thought I was crazy for saying Index lmao
@@AquaSloth well, it could happen to anyone, especially to someone like me, because I'm not an english speaker.
So, "Durex Gundyr", "Sister Frieza", "Soul of tinder", "Borat of Boreal Valley", etc. could happen to me anytime, lol
Broooo Borat Of The Boreal Valley 😩
You have a few seconds to hook your audience at the start of a RUclips video. Bro understood the assignment.
On GOD. I wish I didn’t have to censor it, but RUclips yells at me if I say bad words too early.
Subbed because this man replied to almost every comment, big man
And you bet your ass I’m replyin to yours. Thank you brother ❤️
Wait yeah, that’s a good point. I guess maybe just because it’s less direct..? I’m not totally sure!
against the abyss watcher, at 12:00, it is what every gambler should know
AMEN
I just finished the abyss watchers but I missed the fire demon and the deacons! Appreciate it!
You bet! Glad this was helpful on a very weird way
'if you're planning to 100% this in 2004' - NOW he tells me.
Noooooo you fell for it too! 😭
@@AquaSloth oh yes, collect a few spells it said.
Just wait for the NG++ rings
@@AquaSloth Done them. ALL plus 2 rings, last one behind Nameless.
@@AquaSloth very true dude, anyways keep it up with the great videos I'll definitely be watching what you have coming in the future
First off. I want to be friends with you (28, dad, for reference hahaha) you just seem so chill and funny. Two. I find it so silly to create a guide for a series all about figuring things out and learning, I understand it. Just seems a little silly. Fantastic video friend
Hey thanks man! If you wanna shoot the breeze and/or play some games, you can join the discord and hang out with all of us over there!
120 vieuws for such a good high cuality aqua sloth video is the biggest shame in yt history
Haha, it's funny because I was just thinking "holy fuck, 120 view in an hour is insane". But thank you! This is for sure my favorite of the three Intended videos I've done.
Nice one, dude. Made my day when you uploaded this.
Thank you man! I’m very pleased to hear you enjoyed it :)
storm ruler is the weapon you use in demon souls to kill the king of storms, there you go
A couple other people mentioned this, which I was not aware of! Thank you for the insight. Very cool!
My own little rule for adds in souls games is I'll kill everything infront of me but if I have killed it once I'll run past.
Honestly I like that a lot!
Hilarious vid 🤣. Watching vids on this game feels so nostalgic
Thanks dude! Glad you enjoyed it!
1:57 This is probably well known already but the starting items page calls the Young White Branch a bad pick, but it's the same one that you can get from the giant archer. It's still really only useful once since you can get one from him early on anyway, but it's still a little better than some people might realize.
I didn’t realize that any white branch works with him! I thought you had to go up and talk to him to get him to not fire at you, but that’s an interesting point you bring up
@@AquaSloth it’s actually not any white branch, only the one you get from him and the one you can get from character creation that does it. Any of the ones you get around the trees don’t count for him.
Hell yeah! More Aqua! Armored core ever?
I can’t say I’ve ever played Armored Core, but I would not say no to it! Are they games that are aided by guides? From the little bit of gameplay I’ve seen from the new one, it looks like a very hectic shooter
@@AquaSloth I didn't actually know beforehand, but yes! There is an armored core 6 pilot manual from future press (the people who make the souls guides iirc)
this is peak souls content. im sure my essay can wait a little
Aye, I appreciate the kind words brother man. Hope the essay went well, and hope you enjoyed the video!
I've completed all trophies for DS3 on 2023 with invasions and co-op. no help from no one. Pure pain.
I did it in like 2021 and it was fucking rough. Even with invasions, the proof of concord kepts were still by far the worst
19:20 before Pontiff Sulyvahn the jailers are my favorite soul grinding spot if you kill them all it’s about 7k but it takes like 3 minutes
I just hate the curse shit that they do with their lanterns
Literally had no idea ab the holy knight guy
He’s easy to miss! The only reason I really cared to look into him initially is that he invaded you right as you’re coming up to the Dilapidated Bridge bonfire, and I thought it was kinda cool. He also ties into Sirris’s questline, who I also regularly miss
I believe you can summon Kamui just outside of Sulyvahn’s room
Not even gonna pretend to take credit for this bc I genuinely had no idea, but apparently that's Black Hand Gotthard outside of Sulyvahn's room according to the wiki. Kamui straight up appears one time and never shows up again lol. Legend
Happy Friday
Aye, nothing better than a new vid, cold beer, and the wife going away for the night, heh heh. Yep, it's gamer time
Me after beating all souls games thousents of times watching a ds 3 tutorial:
Ohh, i dint know that😮.
RIP Sigward - guide has him dead in a well.
One of my favorite little guys 😔
Awesome video. I hope your good to do Bloodbrone soon.
I sadly don’t have a PS4, but with as many of you that have asked for BB, I feel like I must get one and do it. I’ll keep ya posted!
Thanks for the post. Can't wait to see what you have in store awesome content man.
damn man I watched the whole vid I though it was 15m or something I didn't fell the time lmao. keep up the good work
I will gladly take that compliment, thank you for checking it out!
I played DS3 mostly blindly my first time, and I had no idea that Anri and Horace could be summoned for Deacons of the Deep. Heck, I didn’t even know their were NPC summons at all for that boss fight. Was an easy one anyway, but interesting to know.
I didn’t know you could summon Sword Master for Vordt or Dancer, or that you could summon Eygon for Dragon Slayer Armor! I swear I learn something new every time I play it
@@AquaSloth holy shit it didn’t know that either. I didn’t even know you could summon Gael for Sister Friede because I played the DLCs in a messed up order. 😩
I started to play this game with the mind of trying to beat it not to long ago and oddly enough i'm following this video and it's oddly helpful enough lmao. Short and gets majority main objectives of each map
I sincerely hope you stick with it dude! DS3 is one of my top 5 for sure and it's so rewarding once it clicks for you. Don't give up, skeleton!
